8/10 MON
(8:50amET)
Today/tomorrow
-- Preseason games week! We finally shed all the non-contact or light contact stuff and get to see how some of these players look in real competition and contact. We’ll break it all down with game reports all the days and week following...and then do it all again Week 2 of the preseason, etc.
-- New Two Scouts Talking YouTube Video drops today...we discuss George Holani.
-- Devy Series posts all through the rest of July into August.
-- Miscellaneous reports on things that come my way and more scouting reports to come. I have a backlog of them to get published already.

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- HEADLINE: ESPN’s Jordan Raanan says “barring a setback, it seems Malik Nabers (knee) is trending towards being ready Week 1 for the Dallas Cowboys.”
Once we all got the news that the media got Nabers’ 2nd surgery/clean up date wrong...the path to Week 1 was in play.
What we don’t know/what we have to factor into his projections are...
1) How ‘back’ will he be in Week 1? It may take a few weeks/into October before he has the full faith and trust, and explosion in his leg again.
2) The always tricky, sneaky ‘compensatory injury’ is high (not imminent, but is 15-25% range?)...subconsciously favoring his knee and causing a hamstring injury or other thing is elevated in these cases...for him and Kittle, Kraft, Pierce, etc.
Don’t forget...he never did fix his foot issue. What if (random example) NYG goes (1-6) or (3-7) off the bat? Is he going in for tat foot surgery he has needed for years?
-- HEADLINE: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Bears WR Luther Burden will “miss a little bit of time” with a groin injury.
Well, good news for him: it’s not the worst-case scenario. The Bears have not projected his timeline for recovery, but they will tell us what we really need to know by what WR move they make next.
Sign a ‘jobber’ camp body WR to help at practice?
...or sign Keenan Allen, etc.?
We don’t know yet.
-- HEADLINE: Saints OG Dillon Radunz suffered a torn ACL, ending his season.
Not a key starter, was actually now set to be a backup. Depth loss but not a critical loss.
-- HEADLINE: ESPN’s Jamison Hensley said he is not sure he’s seen a Ravens rookie have a better training camp than WR Ja’Kobi Lane in 27 years.
The buzz on Lane is loud this summer. It may be true that he’s amazing...or it may be ‘things are easier in camp’ type situation. We’ll find out over the next few weeks. I know he can catch, but not sure if he can get open, etc., to make him an FF-star. The next few weeks is where we start getting answers to those questions in real football activity. My life is locked in for the next 6 months...football prison.
-- SIDE NOTE: I have no firsthand knowledge of this product nor do I get anything from them, but someone sent me this info and I had no idea. They have a lot of athletes in contact sports using it, it appears.
For any of you with kids or grandkids who are playing tackle football or whatever contact sports...
I had no idea this existed: https://q30.com/pages/luke-kuechly-nfl-hall-of-fame-induction

-- They’re calling Pat Bryant “Patty Ice,” and you’re fading him?? https://x.com/CoachspeakIndex/status/2086283081825333633?s=20
-- Do I point out Keaton Mitchell was playing with Trey Lance and the 2nd team after a week of miscues, or do I just let people tweet “Keaton Mitchell”: https://x.com/4whomjbelltolls/status/2086442148925251882?s=43
-- Jags Observer: Your Daily Bhayshul Tuten vs Chris Rodriguez counter: Day 9 = even split
-- TAFS report: We have the answer on why Kenneth Walker wasn’t an every down RB. His own health and the staff likes Zach Charbonnet. Walker would call his dad after games and be unhappy about his workload.
Your moment of Zen for this day...

== Daily Series ==
New series: BEST Organization.
From the perspective of thinking of the organization as a ‘stock’...would I buy this stock, which one would I want over all the teams/stocks? Considering their current everything...current Owner, current GM, Current coaching staff, roster, and geography. Not for wins-losses, but quality of the organization as a whole.
We’ll add a team a day (alpha order) and just rank them and tier them as we go...this will take us to the start of the season.
--------------
Buffalo
Carolina (Rich owner...but I don’t like him, but we’ll not lack for things we need. LOVE his head coach. Good geography).
Atlanta, Baltimore
Arizona
