== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- HEADLINE: Giants agreed to terms with WR Darnell Mooney, formerly of the Falcons, on a one-year, $10 million contract.
Boy, what a terrible deal/signing...potentially. Maybe Mooney had real injury issues he tried to play through and now is getting over them and he can get back to his normal decent self.
But $10M for a year? Really? You know why? O-C Matt Nagy remembers Mooney’s golden years in Chicago. The original drafter of Mooney...2020...then Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy...now O-C for NYG.
Technically, the Giants starting WR trio is (assuming Nabers hurt/out): Austin-Mooney-Slayton.
Ex-D-C/Defensive-minded head coaches and their impact on the offense is laughable and fairly predictable.
I need to start taking Jaxson Dart projections down some.
-- Chargers agreed to terms with QB Trey Lance on a one-year, $6.75 million contract.
This is the one thing that holds me back on going all-in on the Chargers 2026...as a bettor. This is a ridiculous signing. With all the veteran QBs out there to consider as an emergency plan for a Super Bowl caliber team...they go at it again with Trey Lance, who has proven he sucks time and time again.
I think the Chargers, Rams, Bears are the three best rosters/teams in the NFL.
The Rams will likely re-add Jimmy G., and maybe they can be viable-ish if Matt Stafford goes down if Jimmy G. steps in for a game or three.
The Chargers are done if Herbert goes down with Lance in the hole.
If Caleb Williams goes down, I have faith in Tyson Bagent holding it together...and possibly being able to win playoff games.
Remember when the Broncos lost Bo Nix for the Final Four. Backup QB doesn’t matter, until it does.
QUOTES & QUOTABLES...
-- David Edwards (Saints OG) on his 4-year, $61M contract:
"I didn't need to speak with anyone from the Saints before I agreed to join. The vision Kellen Moore and Mickey Loomis have for this 2026 offense is something I wanted to be a part of immediately."
One of the best signings of the offseason. The Saints are ascending while the rest of the NFC South are taking turns shooting their own feet off this offseason.
– Dr. David Chao (@ProFootballDoc) on Nick Bosa's restructure:
"The 49ers converting $21.4M of Bosa's salary suggests they have zero concerns about his long-term availability. You don't push that much money into the future if the medical staff has doubts about the knees."
TWEETS/Xs...
-- Patrick Mahomes trending ahead of schedule with his ACL rehab?
Read the tweet, watch the video, look at the detailed comments under it for some extra info.
https://x.com/sportmdanalysis/status/2032464450083492015?s=43
Why people think the Chiefs are sleepers or a title team in 2026 when they gutted their secondary/defense with Mahomes in question to start 2026 season or his effectiveness right away and then all the team has invested in was an injury-prone, split role 2025 RB and ancient TE for the offseason...it’s beyond me how anyone sees this team as legit 2025 contender.

-- RC Daily JAX Diary...
(same intro every day)
At the very end of RC’s NOTES, for the next 50-60 days...I will share my little diary of my time in Jacksonville (for those who don’t know) getting radiation treatment for my battle with prostate cancer that I am winning -- I am figuratively off to a big 1st-quarter lead and looking strong into the 2nd-quarter of this football game analogy/cancer battle...but just like the Packers-Bears playoff game...it’s not over ‘til it’s over/we got a ways to go.
I am keeping these daily notes so that I might look back over time at this odd, unplanned event in my life. 40 straight weekdays of radiation scheduled, weekends off, unknown side effects ahead...some short-term, with a somewhat scary risk of long-term effects. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
I’m trying to treat this like a vacation, of sorts. Some people save up for a special trip to Hawaii or a European excursion...I could care less about those things. I saved for a rainy day for my protection...and, well... https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxLdSXQWUapDe0CcQznO8Kuqzht631AnEz?si=MqnycTkzVD5mzPnF

3/14/26, Day 49 in JAX
34 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
7 weeks down, 1 more to go.
This will be known as the day where...
I locked myself in my hotel room and worked on various football items...with one exception/excursion: I went to a notorious BBQ place here in Jacksonville...Woodpeckers. So notorious that I had to make a plan to get there early ahead of opening because they can get so busy...always a good sign.
They open at 11am and I got there 10 minutes ahead of that, and was glad I did...15 people waiting outside their main entrance to get in as I approached. I thought I’d maybe go to the pickup window they had on the other side might be less complicated, and I saw two families, 6 people total, and thought I’d take my chances that way. I planned to get something quick and easy and eat in my car...I didn’t even realize they had some seating from the images online. So, I was prepared for takeout.
I talked to the people in line to get some ‘pro tips’ and they told me the brisket was thing, but that everything was great. I was geeked for this because they were geeked for this.
I studied the menu like Andy Reid on the sidelines of a football game with that giant play call sheet. I decided the best deal would be was a situation where I could try the three things making my mouth water was to order their meat trio -- three meats (1/2 pd+ each) and four sides and Texas Toast...for $39 (it was $30...but +$7 if an item was brisket and add tax)...not a bad deal. And I hope to get 3-4 meals out of it.
I got Pulled Pork, Brisket, and Jalapeno Cheddar sausage (which is a personal fave). Two mac & cheese, two spicy cornbread, Texas toast.
I brought it all home and unraveled it and had a mini-feast.
Overall, I give it a solid B to B+.
I was hoping to be absolutely bowled over by the way everyone talks about this place, and everything was great quality...just not the best/tastiest BBQ that I’ve ever had. Places in Houston and Dallas that I’ve been to kick this place’s (pork) butt. I lived in Arkansas for 5+ years...there is great BBQ all over that state...it’s a religion there.
One late note...
So, back to when I was waiting in line and I asked the small crowd for ‘tips’ as a first timer...and they all said ‘get the brisket!’...
I am not a brisket guy. Don’t like steak...don’t like that consistency/texture of steak or pork chops. I need things that fall apart just by looking at it like a well-cooked roast or fall off the bone ribs or easy break apart brisket to even consider eating it. Most brisket that I have tried is like steak (a little tough), for me. But, when in Rome/Jacksonville... I was like...OK, I’ll try the brisket.
So, when I told the crowd I would try the brisket, this one nice lady said...”Oh, and it’s even better as leftovers.” I was thinking... Lady, I probably won’t like this brisket freshly served...so I’m pretty sure my dog will enjoy the leftovers.
So, when I got back to my hotel I tried a little of everything for lunch...and I thought the brisket was tasty but a little tough (for me) in parts and some fattiness here and there...but overall some pretty good parts. So, I ate some for lunch and wrapped it all back up and put it away for dinner.
Dinner time...and I got all 3 meats and some sides back out and heated it up. Sausage heated up great...the sausage was an ‘A’ for lunch and dinner, an easy ‘A’ since I’m a sucker for it -- but theirs was good. Pulled pork reheated...tough to do with pork, for me...and it was just ‘OK’ reheated. Then the brisket...
I reheated and pulled some brisket meat away from the fatty edges it clung to...and it softly broke away and I didn’t remember it doing that before/earlier in the day...and then I had some of the reheated brisket, trepidatiously, and hot damn was that good...probably the best brisket flavor I’ve even had in my life with a perfect fall apart nature. It was a ‘B’ for lunch but an ‘A’ for dinner. How is that possible?
That lady knew the deal. Thank you to her for that suggestion! Maybe it will be an A+ for lunch and/or dinner tomorrow...aging like a fine wine!
My daily food diary...
Day 49 food spend = $39
BREAKFAST = Cereal in room
LUNCH = BBQ joint takeout $39
DINNER = BBQ leftovers
Month #2 (through 21 days) = $458 total spend...now at $21.81 per day average.
49-day total food spend = $1,063...$21.69 per day average...we’re trying to get to/close to the $20 per day budget!!
Month #1 closed. I have 56 days here total, so I am breaking it into two 28 day months/halves. Trying to keep it to $20 a day which I got all kinds of gift cards for it from family and friends during the holidays, etc., to cover approx. $20 a day.
*28-day month #1 of 2 here, final tally = Overbudget/goal by $44 total. Not bad.

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- HEADINE: The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that the Patriots and Rams “are making strong pushes to land” Eagles WR A.J. Brown.
I totally get what to do with projections if AJB lands with New England. He’d be the #1 without question there.
But what would you do with the Rams projections if AJB goes there? Puka-Adams-AJB? Three and four TE sets a moderate amount of the time...and then that WR trio? How much do we bring down Puka? Does Adams fall all the way off the map? Do we just push Terrance Ferguson off for another year? Do we just give Matt Stafford the league MVP for 2026 season now? How fast would AJB complain about not getting the ball enough? Would the Eagles really help the Rams in the NFC?
It’s just too easy that this would be a move to the Patriots...or ‘other’.
-- What else are they planning to do?
If these morons even think about starting Garnder Minshew...
It has to be Jacoby Brissett for Week 1.
They won’t have the guts to go after Tyson Bagent properly.
For FF 2026, I need/want this to be Jacoby Brissett...badly...very badly.
I don’t like the fact that recent FA signing, Kendrick Bourne, has no idea who the Arizona QB is...but he knows they’ll figure it out.
https://x.com/pprfantasytips/status/2032485139083665742?s=43
If I were a FA, I would sign an offer contingent on not doing a press conference about it...because, who really cares? All Bourne did was insult Brissett most of all...who will probably be THE starting QB.
-- Speaking Thursday, Saints coach Kellen Moore was evasive when asked about Alvin Kamara’s future with the team: “We’d like to go through that process, certainly,” Moore said, rather unhelpfully. “And so we feel, obviously we know Alvin means a lot to us. Again, we’re three days into this thing, we signed Travis (Etienne) and we’ll go through that process.”
A lot of words and actions to say what they don’t wanna say: AK is done for Kellen Moore.
Obviously, AK is ‘out’/done in New Orleans...but he won’t go away easily...he wants to stay and not physically move/leave, but he may not have a choice.
-- The top 5 teams in Salary Cap remaining...
1) Commanders $65M
2) Chargers $58M
3) Ravens $53M
4) Colts $51M
5) Patriots $47M
...which means these are the five teams in the best position to make a trade that takes on payroll.
Three teams underwater on cap right now...
#30) TB -$570K
#31) BUF $-2.4M
#32) CLE $-11.3M...so bad at football, and CAP management.

3/13/26, Day 48 in JAX
34 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
7 weeks down, 1 more to go.
This will be known as the day where...
I got some surprising/good news.
It was my final monthly meeting with my main doctor’s nurse/staff on Friday. Now we switch to quarterly visits...I’ll be in Jacksonville quarterly for the next two years or more. My adopted/new hometown.
So, I get my vitals taken and then was sent to a nice hospital room to await my chief nurse for our monthly review and discussion. She comes in and greets me and as she is sitting down, she says -- “Well, you have to be thrilled with those PSA numbers!”
As I reported yesterday, my latest PSA score was 0.04...down from the 0.11 that I started at in Jacksonville...down from the 21 PSA initially in summer 2025, which sent me on this new journey.
I quipped back to the nurse, just being a bit ‘cheeky’ but also serious...I said, “Yeah, I am pleased...but I really wanted to get down to 0.03 or 0.02! But I’ll take 0.04 for sure!”
She looked at me confused.
I thought maybe my joke landed flat...maybe I insulted their entire hospital by not being happy my great PSA wasn’t greater with my treatments? I really meant no disrespect.
There was an awkward pause/silence in the room.
Then she came out of her confusion and said, “Mr. Fischer...your PSA isn’t 0.04.”
I got confused for a moment. I know I saw 0.04 on the printout. I was not fearful of bad news coming, just confused.
She then said some magical words... “The sheet says < 0.04...it’s less than 0.04. Not 0.04. Your PSA is so low that it is in the final category because anything below 0.04 is considered UNDETECTABLE.”
Those were some powerful words to hear. I was numb for a moment.
Now...before I pop the sparkling grape juice and celebrate, I still have a-ways to go in this battle. Victory cannot be declared yet...but we’re stacking up a giant lead on this thing.
I still have to take my therapies/meds for 1.5 more years.
I have to get bloodwork tests/checks every quarter for several years.
After a total of 24 months on the therapies (to Oct. 2027), then they take me off it all...and sit back/constantly test and see what my body does and what the cancer does or doesn’t do.
Because I have had cancer, no matter how low this PSA goes...it is a candidate to ‘make a comeback’ or start anew. So, I always have to be ‘on guard’, at least for five years or so...maybe the rest of my life.
My A.I., that has ALL my records and results and the history of all patient studies/results, places my likelihood of being declared cancer free in 5-10 years at 85-90% right now.
But for today, my status is -- UNDETECTABLE!
One more week to go for them to find more cancer to blast away and then I go home to continue the fight.
My daily food diary...
Day 48 food spend = $xx
BREAKFAST = Starbucks coffee and breakfast sandwich.
LUNCH = Tried a supposed top pizza place in JAX, V Pizza. It wasn’t bad. Not the best I’ve ever had, but good. $18
DINNER = Chili spaghetti in my room from my groceries...which I gotta work off my inventory because I’m leaving in a week!
Month #2 (through 20 days) = $419 total spend...now at $20.95 per day average.
48-day total food spend = $1,024...$21.33 per day average...we’re trying to get to/close to the $20 per day budget!!
Month #1 closed. I have 56 days here total, so I am breaking it into two 28 day months/halves. Trying to keep it to $20 a day which I got all kinds of gift cards for it from family and friends during the holidays, etc., to cover approx. $20 a day.

-- Any latest Free Agency Notes or trades to review from Day-5 (or prior) of free agency week.
-- Debut of the Dynasty rankings 1.0 release keeps being a moving target with free agency being integrated. == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- SIGNING: Giants signed WR Calvin Austin, formerly of the Steelers, to a one-year contract.
I like this signing a lot. Being able to replace Wan’Dale for a fraction of the price...so smart. There may not be a huge difference in Wan’Dale and Calvin’s abilities, but if there is some nudge/advantage that favors Wan’Dale -- the cost differential is insane and makes Austin the smart move.
Austin took a totally garbage deal with NYG. He should sue the Steelers for ruining his value.
Contract Details:
The agreement is structured as a "prove-it" deal with a heavy emphasis on incentives:
Duration: 1 Year
Maximum Value: Up to $4.5 million
Base Value: $1.5 million
Guarantees: $200,000
Tutu Atwell got $10M guaranteed for a year last year, so did Dyami Brown...Austin is twice as good as either of them and more...but gets paid a pittance by comparison.
-- SIGNING: The Seahawks are signing former Packers RB Emanuel Wilson.
I like this signing...with Walker gone and Charbonnet not gonna be back for half the season, maybe missing the entire season...or definitely not 100% in 2026...it gives Wilson some opportunity. How much? We’ll see who else Seattle adds via FA or Draft.
Contract Details:
The deal is a standard one-year "prove-it" contract as Wilson hits the open market after the Packers declined to tender him as a restricted free agent.
Duration: 1 Year
Maximum Value: Up to $2.1 million
Incentives: The deal reportedly includes performance-based escalators that could push it to that $2.1 million ceiling.
-- SIGNING: Vikings signed QB Kyler Murray, formerly of the Cardinals, to a one-year contract.
I have absolutely no idea what Minnesota is doing to itself.
It’s like Atlanta and Minnesota are in a race to see which organization can implode itself from within better/faster. I think the Falcons have a pretty good lead in that race.
-- SIGNING: Commanders signed RB Rachaad White, formerly of the Buccaneers, to a one-year contract.
See my single report out on this last night.
QUOTES & QUOTABLES...
Ben Johnson (HC, Bears) on Kalif Raymond & Skillset Versatility:
"Bringing Kalif here wasn't just about the return game; it was about the institutional knowledge of this system. We need guys who can play multiple spots in the 'Z' and 'F' roles without the offense skipping a beat. After the DJ Moore trade, we're looking for 'suddenness' in the slot, and Kalif gives us a player who can win early in the route and create vertical stress from condensed sets."
John Harbaugh (HC, Giants) on Theo Johnson & 12-Personnel:
"We’ve always believed in the leverage that two-tight end sets provide. Theo [Johnson] showed us last year that he can be a primary seam-stretcher, but we’re looking to complement that with a more traditional 'Y' who can move bodies in the run game. We want to dictate terms to the defense—if they go light, we run; if they stay heavy, we use those TEs to exploit the middle."
Benjamin Allbright (KOA Denver) on the Maxx Crosby "Medical Chill":
"I’ve talked to three different GMs this morning—the Ravens weren't the only ones who saw red flags. The Raiders basically tanked his trade value by letting this play out so publicly. Right now, the sentiment around the league is that Maxx is a 'high-risk' asset. Teams aren't going to give up two firsts for a guy who might need a major procedure before camp."
Mike Garafolo (NFLN) on the Bengals' "Contract Clause" Drama:
"The Bengals are trying to set a new precedent with these 'conduct detrimental' clauses. It’s causing massive friction with agents. It’s why we’re seeing some players hesitate to sign there despite the talent on the roster. They want the ability to void guarantees for almost any off-field incident, and players are pushing back hard against that 'all-or-nothing' risk."
Peter Schrager (NFLN) on the "March Madness" Trade Wave:
"GMs are treating draft picks like lottery tickets and veterans like guaranteed checks. With the cap at $301M, the 'middle class' of the NFL is disappearing. You either have a superstar on a massive deal or a rookie on a cheap one. The DJ Moore trade to Buffalo is the perfect example—the Bills would rather have the proven WR1 for Josh Allen than gamble on a 2026 rookie."
RC NOTE: Welcome to the party I organized/started 3 years ago! For the NFL and FF.
RIP ‘breakout age’ and ‘infographics on performance related to age’
Deepak Chona (@SportMDAnalysis) on Dallas Goedert (TE):
"The procedural delay in Goedert's contract isn't just about money; it’s about assessing his durability floor. He played 15 games last year, which is a 'win' for him, but his 'efficiency-per-snap' metrics dipped in the fourth quarter of games. This suggests a chronic soft-tissue fatigue issue that Philly’s training staff is likely monitoring closely before committing to a multi-year extension."

3/12/26, Day 47 in JAX
33 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
6+ weeks down, 1+ more to go.
This will be known as the day where...
I gave back.
I got three big boxes of Cheryl’s cookies delivered to my hotel. And if you don’t know about/haven’t had Cheryl’s cookies...I feel bad for you. Wonderful buttercream individually wrapped cookies
I wanted to give a box of cookies to the hotel front desk staff that has been so amazing to me for my entire stay. I’ve been buying the top front desk clerks random coffees when I go to Starbucks, or a DQ shake when I walk to DQ at night, or I brought a pizza to them once. They have so taken care of me my entire trip I wanted to give them all a little something special -- so they got a box of cookies for their group.
I took the two other boxes to the hospital this day/morning. I gave one box to the front desk/check-in reception workers at radiation to thank them for all they do for all us patients -- it’s so nice to come into a place that can feel kind of/very heavy, for good reason, and have two gals checking in all of us that act like they are our loving momma/grandma and greets all of us warmly and they remember your name...it’s a little thing that makes such a monstrous difference. I wanted to honor them and their helpers and staff in their area as well.
The final box was for my radiation techs that I see every weekday. The guys and gals literally responsible for trying to help me live on cancer free! They are so incredibly nice and pleasant, as is everyone at MDA...but I see these guys EVERYDAY...and they are doing such an important job for me that I can never repay them properly for their effectiveness. The cookies were a pittance of what I owe them.
I wanted to share my acts of charity/gifts here, not to pat myself on the back for my greatness...no, I wanna turn it back around on you...to thank all of you, for two things...(and then I wanna give myself a reminder after to read over my diary here every so often).
The thank you's first:
1) Your continued support of FFM through subscriptions is a literal lifesaver for me...has been for years, but especially in 2026. I got a lot of bills to pay for this, as I got smacked with in 2025 when this all started -- and your support of the FFM mission is as important as anything the collective can do along with all the prayers and well-wishes that people have given/sent. You’ll never know how each FFMers part in this collected-up to have such a total. collective impact.
2) Several of you have sent a gift card for food or locals took me out to eat and some sent Starbucks cards. The monetary aspect is one thing, a much-appreciated thing, but just the thought that someone goes out of their way, takes their time and money and blesses you with it...you have no idea what it means when you’re going through something like I am going through.
It makes you feel connected to the world still...instead of isolated. When I go to Starbucks down here and get my addiction/cold coffee and I use my gift card someone sent me to pay for it -- it makes me think of them and makes me feel that it’s a special treat vs. a ‘I probably shouldn’t do this as much as I am’ and bargaining with myself on certain days whether I should spend on/get a coffee or not. Guilt is removed!! And that’s a funny notion...but real. And it’s a real gift of ‘peace’ and ‘special feeling’ that I’ve been given in a very serious situation.
When you give/get gift cards for your family for Christmas or birthday, etc., it’s nice but it can feel a little ‘transactional’. When someone totally surprises/blesses you with a gift card, randomly or in times of trouble...I dunno...there’s something totally different about it. I can hardly explain it...except, I had to go through something like this to be a recipient of gifts in such times to know what it feels like. It’s different. I wanna really hold onto/remember this feeling, so that I can pay it forward...because I now truly know how it feels to be on the receiving side.
The people at the hospital and at the hotel...they’re just doing their jobs, per se, but they really do it well here. I am not blessing them out of compulsion...I genuinely want them to have a little happy moment for their day...and to show my appreciation/to honor them because of how good they are at what they do. I’ll be forgotten to them a week after I leave this hotel and stop going to radiation and everyone gets back to their normal lives -- but for me, I’ll never forget them and how well they treated me in such a trying time.
So, I turn to myself and want to always remind myself to make sure I do random things to honor others as you all have honored and taken care of me. I ask myself: Is there someone, some place that goes above and beyond for you and some fresh donuts or homemade cookies or a gift card would be a welcomed surprise? My home chiropractor (I need to do that)? That one girl that has been amazing at my home Starbucks, she just changes the atmosphere of the place. A YouTube content creator who I enjoy/use their stuff and they are trying to get off the ground (I just subbed to one for $3 a month to help them, where usually I just assume $3 don’t matter...it’s not the money, it’s the ‘support’/the vote of confidence that matters even more) or the guy’s I listen to all their stuff about the stock market for free on YouTube and enjoy so much and have prospered from -- and they deserve a few bucks tossed into their open guitar case for their efforts, a certain waiter/waitress you always get at that one place, or a pastor or their assistant or whatever? God, help me to remember what a little blessing, going out of my way, can do/impact on someone’s life.
I tend to feel that momentary compassion for the homeless or the destitute, but then I ignore the people making a huge impact on my life or provide a great service to me that do the right things...they get punished for ‘doing their jobs well’. It’s a weird way we play out things in our life...like it’s when ‘a good kid gets lost/ignored because they don’t cause trouble and are consistent, as the bad kid takes all the energy/resources/focus of the parents’. I want to honor all the good kids out there for the Youman’s work of being the good kids.
My son goes to a Five Guys near his office like almost every other day. When they see his car pull up they already start making his usual order. He is so touched/delighted by this treatment. I suggested he gift them something (last year this took place)...so, he did. He got them our beloved Cheryl’s cookies box for their whole group/staff...and then on a random day he made sure his usual people were there...and he gave it to them and thanked them for how they take care of him. A box of specialty cookies for fast-casual burger joint workers...you’d have thought he gifted them gold bars. They were so taken aback. No one had ever done that.
And you know what happened from there? Oops, we forgot to charge you for a drink. Oops, we accidentally dumped 3x the fries in your bag. Oops, this one is on the house. Everyone honoring the people who go above and beyond for them...it goes full circle, it is like karma...it comes back to you in ways you don’t think to connect.
Let’s all make some more people’s days! The ones that deserve it.
Thank you all for making my days down here more peaceful and special with your prayers (I mean that...we have busy lives, and we mean to pray, and then we forget...so many have not forgotten me and God responded)! And with your generosity and support.
Thank you!

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
INTERESTING QUOTES & QUOTABLES last few days...
Mike McDaniel (OC, Chargers) on his new offensive system in LA: "I'm a fan of this team now, and me and Justin [Herbert] are going to ride. We’re integrating some of the 21-personnel looks I love, and adding a guy like Alec Ingold—who knows this system like the back of his hand—allows us to be creative with motions while staying gritty at the point of attack."
Kevin Stefanski (HC, Falcons) on the Tua vs. Penix Dynamic: "Competition brings out the best in everyone. Tua [Tagovailoa] brings a veteran 'point guard' efficiency that we value, while Michael [Penix Jr.] has that rare downfield verticality. We’ll prioritize whoever best facilitates getting the ball to Drake London and our playmakers."
RC NOTE: I don’t know that the ‘Tua style’ is the right combo for Drake London. All this feels very weird, very fast in Atlanta. I’ve never seen a promising team come apart so quickly...self-inflicted.
Todd Monken (HC, Browns) on the "Post-Watson" Offense: "We are looking for a strategic vision that shifts how we attack AFC North defenses. The system will be built on high-percentage throws and a dominant interior run game. We need to be more efficient in the red zone, period."
RC NOTE: They always tell us things they shouldn’t...but thankfully they are blabbermouths. But we could’ve, and I did, guess this would be the case with this old school coach (doomed to fail). But it will be a while into the season before Judkins is ready to be that guy...
Andrew Berry (GM, Browns) on Quinshon Judkins’ Health: "We are encouraged by his progress. Shedding the boot is a big step. We plan to be cautious, but the vision remains for him to be the lead horse in this backfield by the time the weather turns cold."
Jim Harbaugh (HC, Chargers) on Tight End Charlie Kolar: "Charlie personifies grit and toughness. He’s the kind of guy you want on the end of the line next to Rashawn Slater or Joe Alt to help create running lanes. He brings a hard-nosed mentality that this locker room needed."
Ian Rapoport (NFLN) on the Maxx Crosby Trade Collapse: "The fact that he didn't pass the physical in Baltimore is the story of the week. Teams are now treating his medical file like a toxic asset. He’s back in Vegas, but his 2026 status is a total mystery."
Peter Schrager (NFLN) on Malik Willis’ Value: "I talked to a few GMs who said Malik Willis was their #1 free agent regardless of position. The growth he showed in Green Bay convinced people he’s a franchise ceiling guy. Miami is betting the house on that."
Jeff Hafley (HC, Dolphins) on Malik Willis & Roster Continuity: "I loved the way Malik prepared in Green Bay, and I’ll be honest—I grew tired of trying to scheme against him in practice. His off-schedule playmaking and elite arm strength made our defensive looks vulnerable every week. Bringing him here removes the 'guesswork' because we’ve seen him thrive in the 'Green Bay Way' firsthand. He is exactly the dual-threat playmaker we need to stress defenses in this division."
Daniel Jeremiah (NFLN) on Mike Washington (RB): "The 4.33 was the 'aha' moment. He’s moved from a Day 3 flyer to a potential Day 1 riser. GMs are looking at that Arkansas tape and seeing a home-run threat on every single touch."
Jordan Schultz (Insider) on the secondary market: "Teams are prioritizing 'length' over pure speed this cycle. If you aren't 6'1" with 32-inch arms, you're being pushed down the board in favor of these hybrid defenders who can play the 'big nickel' role."
Benjamin Allbright (KOA Denver) on the Maxx Crosby Trade Market: "Well, the Bears would be his preferred destination if he got to pick, although I don't know how they'd make the economics work there. Dallas offered at the deadline last year, but the medical flag from the Ravens has chilled the market significantly. Teams are terrified of that cartilage issue."
Benjamin Allbright (KOA Denver) on the Broncos' Backfield Pivot: "No, the Broncos have not made Nik Bonitto available... and no, they haven't tried to trade for Achane either. After missing on David Montgomery to Houston, expect Denver to look at Kenneth Walker or Tyler Allgeier as that 'Thunder' to compliment their current speed."
Ian Rapoport (NFLN) on the Dak Prescott "All-In" Year: "Dallas pushing $47M into the future is the loudest signal possible that 2026 is the year. They are clearing the decks to add one more blue-chip veteran, likely on the defensive side, before training camp."
Injury & Medical Updates
Dr. David Chao (@ProFootballDoc) on Maxx Crosby (Edge): "The failed physical suggests a chronic cartilage issue. This isn't a quick fix. His trade value will remain stagnant until he can prove the knee can handle a full workload."
Jeff Mueller (@jmthrivept) on Daniel Jones (QB): "Jones signing with the Colts is a gamble on their medical staff. His mobility is his greatest asset; we’re watching his 'lateral twitch' closely in OTAs after his recent injury history."
Jeff Mueller (@jmthrivept) on Ikem Ekwonu (OT): "A torn patellar tendon for a 320-lb man is a mountain to climb. The Panthers are saying he's 'ascending' in his recovery, but until we see him hold his anchor against a bull-rush, he remains a major risk."
Jeff Mueller (@jmthrivept) on Joe Mixon (RB): "Mixon’s release confirms the foot injury was more than a standard sprain. At 29, a mid-foot surgery is often the 'end of the line' for explosive acceleration. He’ll have to take a vet-minimum deal to prove he can still cut."

-- My medical update from my latest blood testing...
Update from Jacksonville WED 3/11
Had my last blood test for my stint in Jacksonville on Monday 3/9.
PSA is now down to 0.04. Down from the 0.07 last month and the 0.11 when I first got to Jacksonville. The winning continues!
7 more radiation treatments to go. 1+ year of hormone therapies to go for the full knockout attempt.
All my other areas of concern for being on the therapies and doing radiation are doing spectacularly. All my liver and kidney functions are testing high end ‘A’ grade. And a lot of guys here at the hospital in their fight are having liver or kidney issues with all the stuff going on with treatments so this is a big deal that my systems are handling it smoothly.
My only numbers that are off are my blood cell counts leading to mild anemia, which is expected going through radiation...which leads to tiredness/fatigue, etc. It will slowly ‘right the ship’ daily after radiation is done and be gone in 1-2 months.
Thank you everyone for your continued prayers. All in and all the treatments and my time here could not have gone any more effectively and smoothly. It’s mostly been a daily miracle of good news/results and new adventures down here that can only be a blessing from God!
(end of intro)
3/11/26, Day 46 in JAX
32 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
6+ weeks down, 1+ more to go.
This will be known as the day where...
I went to Jacksonville’s top-rated, most decorated burger joint...’Carolina Jax’ (Google review 4.6).
Several people told me...oh, the best burgers in town are ‘Carolina Jax’...you gotta go! So, I did. Wednesday are my later days at the hospital because I meet with my main nurse and the radiation doctor to go over the past week’s info and any questions I have. So, I planned to do those meetings then slip out and over to Carolina Jax, that was only 7 minutes away from the hospital. ‘
Let me give you the overview of the crowd at Carolina Jax, but first to set the scene...I went to a local burger joint Monday for their burger lunch special...there were 2 other people there at 11:30am...and still only 2 people there at Noon...and it was terrible. The crowd told me what I needed to know but found out firsthand anyway. Carolina Jax, however, I got there at 11:00am...it took me 10 minutes to find a parking spot in this tight area...all the surrounding businesses had big signs about towing away cars if not there for their business (I would learn they did this because of Carolina Jax’s crowd). I walked in the door at 11:15am, I was 3rd in line with no one behind me, and half their small space of tables (had about 20 tables) were already occupied. When it was my turn to step up to order, there were already 7 people behind me in line now. By the time I ordered and went to sit down, the line was out the door and seats were disappearing.
Just from ‘crowd’ optics/flow alone, I knew this was gonna be good. And it was. As I was reading the Google reviews...the only bad reviews were people pissed there wasn’t more seating, but professed their food was good/great.
I ordered my cheeseburger with the special ‘Jax sauce’ on the side. I never had their sauce, so I didn’t want them slathering it on my burger up front. I quickly got my burger and fries and took a bite with no sauce...and it was good. Really good...a ‘B/B+’...(arguably) not better than Five Guys or Shake Shack burgers, but quite good. BUT...when I dipped some in the Jax sauce...HELLO! I loved that sauce.
Hopefully you can track with this: Their Jax sauce tasted like Red Robin’s Campfire sauce + Raising Cane’s sauce got married and their union was Jax sauce. They make several sauces, all freshly made themselves...and I don’t know how good the other sauces were, but the Jax sauce was terrific...really made the burger ‘sing’...taking it from a B/B+ to an ‘A’ level experience.
Two great food places in a row, AND two great lunches paid for by FFM loyalists! My lunch this day was sponsored by a very kind and gracious member of the cult who Venmo’d me some lunch money! Thank you very much to my benefactor...you sponsored me on a day where I had a really wonderful burger experience. You’re now a part of the lore that is my trip to Jacksonville, and I thank you!
Who’s buying me lunch today?
As I left Carolina Jax, people were still lined up out the door, and several people were miffed because there were no tables left to sit at. That’s the sign of a good ‘joint’...they deserved it. Thumbs Up from me!
My daily food diary...
Day 47 food spend = $00
BREAKFAST = Cereal in my room
LUNCH = Carolina Jax!
DINNER = Spaghetti with Skyline Chili and Cheese topping...made by me from grocery items.
Month #2 (through 19 days) = $383 total spend...now at $20.15 per day average.
47-day total food spend = $988...$21.02 per day average...we’re trying to get to/close to the $20 per day budget!!
Month #1 closed. I have 56 days here total, so I am breaking it into two 28 day months/halves. Trying to keep it to $20 a day which I got all kinds of gift cards for it from family and friends during the holidays, etc., to cover approx. $20 a day.

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- HEADLINE: Raiders announced the Ravens have backed out of their agreement to acquire EDGE Maxx Crosby.
You saw the news, but we all don’t have any more info than that. We all will find out a lot on it today and then we can discuss.
My first question on it is -- did the Raiders know this was possible or likely, and made the deal anyway? Did the Ravens not ask more questions? Crosby was in a fight with LV late season about playing vs. sitting due to his injury, so LV had to know something.
-- HEADLINE: NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports once Michael Penix (knee) is healthy, the Falcons quarterback job will be “an open competition.”
Wow, this is huge news. They may just be saying this to give Tua motivation and Penix some motivation as well. But this is another complete departure from what they were saying a week ago and the owner a month+ ago. Is this report fake news? It would be a shock/embarrassing for Wolfe to be so specific on this and it not be corroborated or rock solid.
This all has some impact on Bijan Robinson. When these great backs exist, and the defenses do not fear the QB...they are stacking the line and daring the QB to beat them. Think about the Jeanty issues in 2025, the Saquon issues almost every season but 2024, the later career David Johnson issues, the Derrick Henry issues in 2023 where the ‘experts’ thought it was his age/career was over due to low ypc, we could go on and on. It wasn’t them, despite their greatness...it was the O-Line/offense.
The Falcons have a bad QB about to start Week 1 (Tua) and they gave him pure garbage for complimentary WRs. Defenses should go all-in on stopping Bijan...like teams did to Quinshon Judkins for Stefanski last year.
-- The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports teams calling on 49ers QB Mac Jones have described the asking price as “astronomical.”
SF has no reason to be in a hurry. Nor any real reason why to do a generic deal. I keep seeing ‘3rd-rounder’ thrown around as the proper/guessed price by analysts...dude, the Niners would get a 3rd-round pick for him next year if they just kept him for 2026 and let him go to free agency in 2027.
If I were the Niners, I would take nothing less than a 1st-round pick...which I think they will get. I think the deals will go ‘down’ like this...
1) SF will trade Jones for a 1st to either Minnesota or Pittsburgh, with the team that doesn’t get Mac then signing Aaron Rodgers.
2) Once SF trades Mac, then they will add Kirk Cousins. I’m sure Shanahan and Cousins have already spoken and that deal is there if they want it. Cousins will not go to be a starter anywhere, so it’s either backup for SF or other...or retire. I think it’s specifically to SF or MIN or retire.
The only teams really left looking for a QB are PIT, MIN, and IND. And Indy is contingent on Daniel Jones, which is a growing concern he won’t be ready for half-this-season...in which case it is a lost season ahead for Indy if that happens. Cousins is a possibility there as a long shot, dependent upon Jones’s rehab/outlook.
Kyler Murray has no prayer of finding a starting job, unless he goes to Cleveland...maybe. Not sure he’d start there. I think Kyler is going to baseball, as I throw-away-predicted he would a couple years ago once Arizona ditched him. I could see him, now that he is all paid up, never playing a down of football again. He’s already booked $200M+ in his career...why would he take $5M a year to be a backup...unless he threw away his money? And the other part is...no one really wants to work with him anyway.
Tyson Bagent is still up for grabs, but teams are too chicken to pay a 2nd-rounder, so far.
-- RB and BTJ rumors from Jacksonville...
The Jaguars “are entertaining offers” for Brian Thomas. We all know this. They kinda lied and said they weren’t trying to trade him...they are, but they are not finding any real market for him.
I am told they are trying to use BTJ as bait to get a running back or a high-level pick. I am told BTJ for Breece Hall was floated, but again...no one wants BTJ really.
There’s a BTJ for De’Von Achane rumor, which makes some sense because Achane will be a free agent...and he is not what the Dolphins want at RB/a power run game. Keep an eye on this one.
There was a Derrick Henry to JAX rumor, but I think that is total garbage of a rumor. Baltimore is delusionally ‘going for it’ this year, not divesting. At the trade deadline, I assume Henry could be on the move.

3/10/26, Day 45 in JAX
31 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
6+ weeks down, 1+ more to go.
This will be known as the day where...
The day where I had a lovely lunch with another FFM customer. I knew I loved Jacksonville, and now I know why even more since I’ve been down here for a month+…a lot of our long-time subscribers are living here!
At our FFM brethren’s suggestion, we met at a nice/casual restaurant called Midtown Table. And I gotta say, my streak of bad meals/experiences at local, non-chained restaurants has been broken. This was an excellent place that I recommend highly.
I want to talk about the restaurant experience first, while it’s on my mind, and my focus on it is on a topic that my lunch date and I discussed at this lunch as well. And that is the vast, incredible difference that there is between a business that has heart and soul and supremely cares about customer service...and the businesses that are in business, especially bad food businesses, to just throw slop at you in the name of cheaper/cost savings for them and convenience/fast.
This restaurant has that open kitchen design where you could see the hustle and bustle of food being made fresh and from scratch. This place was filled with workers of all types...servers, cooks, chefs, management...and the restaurant was nearly full by about 11:45 AM. The facility was spotless and the service and presentation was immaculate. I got a woodfired pizza and my date got a smash burger, our meals were nothing extraordinarily complex or fancy...but they just made it and presented it that way, they paid attention to presentation, which was really wonderful…and the prices really weren’t any different than anywhere else you might go for a sit down restaurant meal.
As we were winding down our meal, a supervisor/manager came by and asked us how our meal was. And the thing about that is, he was friendly and welcoming and really listened to what we had to say and engaged about our food. Unlike the McDonald’s CEO, I got the feeling this guy has actually eaten all of the menu items offered at his restaurant. And then not only did he stop by the table to check in on us, which wasn’t like a forced corporate mandate thing, this guy seemed genuinely passionate/interested about our experience. And when we said how good everything was, he was pleased...he engaged, and then he looked at our table, saw our drinks were halfway down and asked if he could get us more of the things we were drinking. When I said, I’d love another Diet Coke...it was there in a blink.
But what made this even more special, about the manager's visit, was he engaged without being pushy, but then delightfully latched onto the fact that I said it was my first time there. He was very excited by this info...and then asked me if I liked ice cream? There’s only one answer to that question…
So, when I said that I did like ice cream, he replied back that he would like to get me a complementary ice cream...but not just any ice cream. He wanted to get me what he said was his wife’s favorite ice cream at this place. I braced myself for some kind of bizarre concoction that I was gonna find some type of problem with like it was mint or had pecans in it or whatever issues I might personally have. But instead, he said, do you like salted caramel. In my head, my response was gonna be – would you marry me? But I went with a more appropriate -- why yes I do very much so. He said I’m gonna get you my wife’s favorite, but it’s not just any old salted caramel ice cream...it’s actually made with some unique caramel and also with some olive oil. That sounded a touch weird, but I’ve heard people using olive oil with salted caramel, so I was game. I love olive oil...just not sure I love it in ice cream, but it was not a barrier.
Then he brought out one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. Not just because the salted caramel and olive oil mixed just right, and was not overbearing, but that the ice cream itself was amazing. Vanilla ice cream that wasn’t quite soft serve...nor was it gelato. It was like something in between and it was heavenly.
The manager guy came back out to see how we liked the ice cream and of course we made his day by talking about how great it was. He then thanked us for coming in and told us they were opening other restaurants under different names and concepts around Jacksonville and then gave me a business card with all the brand restaurants that were under their umbrella.
The whole experience was amazing. That’s how you do a restaurant. You could feel the heart and soul of that place from the minute you walked in there. You could feel the commitment to service instantly. One of the best restaurant experiences that I have had all thanks to one of our fellow FFM cult members. That’s how you do it! My two meals with two FFM members since I’ve been down here were both really nice food and friendship experiences.
And finally a big thank you to my lunch date! Not only for suggesting this great restaurant, which was one of his favorites in the city, but also for the generous hospitality and conversation over lunch. We barely talked about football, just having fun talking about our backgrounds and the Jacksonville area as a whole and about our kids, and our future retirement hopes and dreams. It’s so great for me, who is stuck here alone most days, holed-up most of a day at the hospital and/or in a little hotel room with my dog to get some fulfilling human interaction. It was nice to just be able to sit down to talk about life and chat for a while over an amazing restaurant experience. It allows me to forget about the cancer battle for a while...and just to be a normal dude doing dude things with another dude. And I thank you, my lunch date, for that!
I really get the feeling that Jacksonville is the home, the motherland, my soulmate city that I was always destined for, but I’m now just finding. Everyone is so nice here, by and large...really ‘and large’...I’ve rarely had even a mediocre interaction anywhere I’ve gone. Everyone is so welcoming and ‘chill’ here. What a great place to do cancer radiation for 8 weeks!
Stay classy, Jacksonville.

(7:11amET)
Today
-- Free Agency Note day #2
-- Debut of the Dynasty rankings 1.0 release is moved to late TUE or WED to account for free agents. I tried to get it complete before free agency, and it was just about done but now all the signings are pouring in so I am updating everything for the first release with the old too obsolete.
-- Starting a new series, a Mock DRD...5-Rounds from each draft slot 1-12 with commentary. Slot #2 today...slot #1 series debut Sunday.
This Week’s Agenda…
-- Prospect grades by position and rankings boards are being debuted, updated and added to daily/weekly for the next 6 months.
-- Wrapping up and auditing Dynasty rankings 1.0. Adding the top rookies with the latest info. Probably March 8-9 range debut (projected). IDP work begins after that.
-- Holy series QB and RB done. Holy RB Handcuffs underway.
-- Full scouting reports on prospects from now until the NFL preseason.
-- Any FFM News & Notes or Special Reports during the day as I get them.
-- My Jacksonville daily diary at the very end for me recording this journey for future reading/memory and sharing how things are going with everyone.
-- New coaching staff hire’s analysis series...going through the entire staff...I am working on the framework of how I want to present that. This will be a first ever series (for me) where I go beyond ‘just the new head coaches’. ETA in later March/early April.
== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
Winners and Losers from Day-1 of free agency, at a quick glance over every team’s comings and goings...
*See my first reaction notes on the players on free agency Day-1, posted yesterday.
WINNERS (who got markedly better)...
1) TEN = Landed, one of the top CB (2025 grades) available in free agency in Cordale Flott. Also added a ‘solid’ CB in Alontae Taylor. And also one of the absolute steals of a sleeper/underrated CB in Joshua Williams from the Chiefs...the Rams spent all this effort to get KC CBs, and they may have overlooked their best one in the 6’3” Williams. Tennessee rebuilt its secondary in one day.
They also stole more NYG things/found a top WR for themselves in Wan’Dale. And they stole Daniel Bellinger from NYG as well.
The Titans stole a bunch of nice Giants players Monday...thanks to Daboll.
The Giants lost several and only replaced some with ex-Ravens...thanks to Harbaugh.
Unscientifically ‘grading’...I think the Titans added/netted the most impact starters to start the FA period. Not the best quality, per se…but the best quantity with some quality.
2) LAC = Added one of the top blocking fullbacks (Ingold) and arguably the top blocking TE (Kolar), some would argue. Also added a top center (Biadasz) for a fraction of the Linderbaum cost. If Cole Strange gets back to form...the Chargers just keep adding legit blockers everywhere and have a ton of money left to pounce today or make a big trade & sign of a player.
NFL-wise...this was a ‘handling’ of their main issue from the 2025 season. Blocking.
This was the best ‘quality with some quantity FA period, so far.
3a) CHI = Coby Bryant was a great steal from SEA. And the DJ Moore trade was a heist, especially if you compare it to the Pittman/PIT-IND deal.
3b) LAR = Yes, they got the two higher profile CBs...but the money they spent on McDuffie is silly. But it does attack/solve their CB issue. I like the Watson signing a lot.
3c) LV = I keep going back and forth on this one. A lot of names but only Linderbaum is a real impact. Signing Stokes back/keeping him was big. They got a lot of players, they are upgrades, but they paid a lot of money for the talent. Poor fiscal management, but they are ‘better’ today.
LOSERS (who got markedly worse and/or were incredibly dumb)
1) ATL = My breath was taken away on how bad this was. It’s like they are tanking...but I know they think they’re ‘on the verge’, that’s what makes it so crazy. And if/when they add Tua, this gets crazier.
I would fire the new GM and/or Stefanski for this Day-1, whichever one was responsible. This was not a one player stupidity ‘opinion’...they signed a collection of I don’t know what.
Jahan Dotson for 2-yr/$15, O. Zaccheaus back, an ancient kicker (Folk), Austin Hooper?, Christian Harris? The Dotson signing may have been the single worst signing of the FA period so far, for the money.
2) CAR = Jaelan Phillips helps, I guess, but 4-yr/$120M and $80M guaranteed...are you kidding me?
Then who to sign to press Bryce Young? They needed a possible #2 QB signing that could take over Young...and they sign Kenny Pickett.
Then I thought to myself, before FA...whatever team signs Devin Lloyd for a lot of money because he got a lot of fortunate interceptions last season is a ‘dumb’ team. And Carolina snags him. One of the worst FA period in terms of wild spending at the wrong positions with the wrong players.
3) NYJ = The Jets are just flailing away. They signed a bunch of ‘past date’, marginal defenders...because that’s all Aaron Glenn cares about or knows. The Jets easily could’ve been roasted for the worst FA period, but ATL and CAR’s sessions were so stupid the Jets kinda flew under their radar.
(end of intro)
3/09/26, Day 44 in JAX
30 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
6+ weeks down, 1+ more to go.
This will be known as the day where...
I had to ban another food place. Actually, I had to ban another whole genre.
Now joining McDonald’s during travels, Wendy’s, Mall Food Court non-chain food places as places I have imposed a ban on -- now any local/non-chain places that have a sub-4.5 Google review rating. I’ll allow a slight dip under a 4.5 place IF someone of note recommends it.
I had a choice for lunch Monday. I had to pick up meds, then a few stores down from my meds pickup were two burger-ish options. Five Guys or a local joint. They were literally across from/next to each other. The local place had a burger lunch special for $10, so I thought I’d try it just to give it a shot...I’d forgo the obviously good/layup of Five Guys.
And...what a mistake.
It was one of the worst/most useless burgers I’ve ever had. It was like a bad cafeteria burger. So small that the small bun buried the burger (but advertised as big and tasty). I get my burgers with just cheese...and I could not tell that there was actual cheese on this ‘burger’.
I’m done with local places that aren’t highly rated and/or recommended. They never work out. They are the kind of places that are failing, have limited people there, and would be candidates for like a restaurant makeover show where the host yells at everyone and totally changes their menu and food.
Do people/restaurant owners think that if they offer ‘food’ that they have an awesome restaurant? If you use low grade, unseasoned meat and skim milk cheese product to have ‘burgers’...you’re gonna go out of business eventually/quickly. I walked into this place, and it had 50 seating/tavle options...and just one set of customers eating there for lunch. I should’ve just turned around and walked out.
Every place I’ve been that’s local around me that is under 4.5 Google stars (and I won’t even consider an under 4.0) is awful or just ‘nothing’. This ‘burger bar’ was a 4.1-4.2. I have gone to these local places and bypass easy, known ‘good’/always the same quality wherever I go choices (to me) like Five Guys, like Chipotle, Raising Canes, etc., because I’m trying to be adventurous -- but I always get burned here.
Never again.
People/restaurateurs mostly shovel bad food to the public (with rare gem places that take things seriously to go to, but they do exist), I’m not supporting it...not McDonalds, not Wendy’s, etc. Not the places that used to be good/better. They aren’t good anymore. There’s no turning back for them. They’re awful corporate slop tossed to the masses. Not me. I’m not doing it anymore. There are too many other, better options.
And please...if you eat somewhere and it sucks...please go on Google reviews and hit them. They deserve to be hit. And vice-versa, if it is great...please give them the 5 stars. You don’t need to leave words/a review -- just hit the stars. We’re all in this together!
My daily food diary...
Day 44 food spend = $38
BREAKFAST = Starbucks cold coffee and breakfast sandwich on BTC Chris, thank you!
LUNCH = $10 burger special for lunch that was $18 with tip total by the end.
DINNER = Spaghetti and butter sauce in hotel room. *Grocery shopping for +$20
Month #2 (through 16 days) = $383 total spend...now at $23.93 per day average.
44-day total food spend = $988...$22.45 per day average...we’re moving further away from the $20 per day budget!!
Month #1 closed. I have 56 days here total, so I am breaking it into two 28 day months/halves. Trying to keep it to $20 a day which I got all kinds of gift cards for it from family and friends during the holidays, etc., to cover approx. $20 a day.

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- This is gonna be quite the week as free agency kicks off. So much will change in FF this week. Here’s a schedule/timeline of events this week...today will be crazy with deals announced but not official. Every day this week will be newsworthy every hour.
Here is the full breakdown of how free agency will unfold:
1. The "Legal Tampering" Window
Monday, March 9 – Wednesday, March 11
Starting at 12:00 PM ET on Monday, teams are allowed to contact and enter contract negotiations with the agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents (UFAs).
- The Catch: You’ll hear reports of "agreements in principle" almost immediately, but no contracts can be signed until the new league year officially begins.
2. The Official Start (New League Year)
Wednesday, March 11 at 4:00 PM ET
This is the moment the floodgates truly open.
- Signings: Deals reached during the tampering window can finally be signed and made official.
- Trades: Teams can officially execute trades (like the reported blockbuster sending Maxx Crosby to the Ravens).
- Salary Cap: All 32 teams must be under the $301.2 million salary cap by this deadline.
-- TRADE: Buffalo Bills receive: DJ Moore (WR), 2026 5th-round pick (No. 164 overall)
Chicago Bears receive: 2026 2nd-round pick (No. 60 overall)
The more I look at this deal, the more I realize just how ‘bamboozled’ the Bills got in this deal in the big picture. You see what things were exchanged, and you might think ‘it’s solid’ for both teams. Maybe a Bills slight overpay...but the Bills need WR help. And the Bears have their reasons.
But did you know that ALL the DJM payroll shifts to the Bills? Buffalo will pay Moore $24.5M this season (all guaranteed), as the deal sits right now -- the 12th highest paid WR for 2026 season. 25% higher paid this year than Justin Jefferson (still about $10M less than #1 highest-paid, Chris Godwin...yikes). DJM is a solid NFL WR...he is not the 12th-best WR in the game, not even close. At times last season, I’m not sure he was the 12th best receiver on the Bears. Moore has way since peaked, as a WR, in the NFL...and is now surpassed in talent, and for sure in effort, by top rookies instantly.
After this season, it’s two more $24.5M seasons (2027 and 2028) but ‘only’ $15.5M is guaranteed in each season. Buffalo took on $54.5M in guaranteed money still owed to DJ Moore, no matter what. He’s an OK receiver and all, but I would NEVER pay him the amount of money.
If I were an NFL GM, like for the Bills in this instance, I’d wonder...why is a great offensive mind like Ben Johnson willing to part with DJM? Buffalo/Joe Brady was like ‘I worked with him 5+ years ago, it’ll be fine today to see him as one of the highest paid WRs in all of football. Who cares if he was the Bears 3rd/4th best WR last year in their offensive revival...it’s probably because Ben Johnson isn’t as smart as we (BUF) are!’
Good luck with that.
The Bears move to #12 in open CAP space off the DJM dump...and when they cut/trade Kmet and Swift, they will move up to (current) #10 in CAP space...they are getting in position to land Tyler Linderbaum. The Bradbury deal isn’t changing that, I don’t think.
This doesn’t hurt Buffalo’s starting lineup/WR group...it helps...but I would rather have Curtis Samuel or Josh Palmer, at their cost, compared to DJ Moore at his extreme overpayment.
DJM is gonna be a decent enough addition, perhaps...but at what cost? Buffalo taking on this big salary just sunk themselves to #32 in CAP space available...one of 6 teams with negative CAP space right now...and there’s not much to rid themselves of to make up for it. I’m sure a Josh Allen restructuring is coming to try to help...Dawson Knox may be sacrificed for CAP space. But this trade looks like Buffalo’s ‘big move’ for 2026...they’re simply outta bullets otherwise.
And the real last laugh would be the Bears adding Curtis Samuel for peanuts in free agency. It would be like the Bills just gave Chicago their 2nd-round pick and took on $50M+ in guaranteed payroll without any real change in WR talent exchanged! I think the Bears see Jahdae Walker as a better fit and effort and locker room guy than DJM these days.
-- QUOTES & QUOTABLES...
Adam Schefter (ESPN) on A.J. Brown: "The hurdle for an A.J. Brown trade isn't just the draft picks; it's the structure. I'm told the Patriots and Steelers are currently weighing Philly's demand for a high first-rounder plus a starting-caliber player, but the Bills may have bowed out after their recent move for D.J. Moore."
Bucky Brooks (NFLN) on Mike Washington (RB): "4.33 is flying. Washington just forced every scout to go back to the Arkansas tape. In a league that is starving for home-run hitters, he just made himself a lot of money."
Adam Schefter (ESPN) on the Salary Cap: "The $301.2 million cap is the fuel for the fire we're about to see. Teams that thought they were out of the 'big name' market suddenly have $20M+ in breathing room."
Jason La Canfora (Insider) on Anthony Richardson: "The trade value is currently at an all-time low. GMs are concerned about the injury resume and the lack of passing progression. He’s viewed as a project, not a plug-and-play starter for 2026."
Ian Rapoport (NFLN) on Dak Prescott: "The Cowboys have officially cleared $47 million in cap space following the contract restructures of Dak Prescott and Tyler Smith. They are making a massive move to be aggressive in free agency."
Ian Rapoport (NFLN) on Wan'Dale Robinson: "Keep an eye on the Titans. Brian Daboll is desperate to reunite with Wan'Dale in Nashville to give that offense some much-needed suddenness in the slot."
Mike Garafolo (NFLN) on Alec Ingold: "The Chargers are making Alec Ingold the league’s highest-paid fullback with a two-year, $7.5M deal. Jim Harbaugh is officially bringing 'power football' back to LA."
Adam Schefter (ESPN) on Kyler Murray: "The Jets are the favorites if Arizona moves Kyler. A trade would likely involve a 2026 second-rounder and a conditional 2027 pick."
Tom Pelissero (NFLN) on Ryan Kelly: "A massive void opens in Indy. The four-time Pro Bowl center has announced his retirement after 10 seasons. The Colts' O-line just lost its brain."
Injury & Medical Updates
Dr. David Chao (@ProFootballDoc) on George Kittle (TE): "Kittle’s Achilles repair was successful, but a 'proximal' tear for a 32-year-old tight end is a long road. Expect a slow start to 2026; he likely won't have his 'YAC-king' burst until November."
Jeff Mueller (@jmthrivept) on Cam Skattebo (RB): "The fibula fracture/dislocated ankle combo is brutal. Because it happened in late October, he has enough time to be 85% by Week 1, but his lateral cutting will be the last thing to return."
Dr. Jesse Morse (@DrJesseMorse) on Quinshon Judkins (RB): "The ankle ligament reconstruction from late December is the most concerning medical in the AFC North. Judkins relies on that violent jump-cut; don't expect 100% effectiveness until mid-season."
Dr. David Chao (@ProFootballDoc) on Sam LaPorta (TE): "Surgery for a herniated disc in the lumbar spine usually has a high success rate, but the 'moderate performance impact' for the first year is real. His bend and leverage in blocking will be tested early." Back: His surgery happened in late November 2025 for a herniated disc suffered against the Commanders. LaPorta spoke on it during locker clean-outs (Jan 2026), stating he hopes to be running by OTAs. The "red flag" here is the long-term impact of lumbar surgery on a tight end's blocking leverage.
Michael Penix Jr. (QB, Falcons) – ACL: This is the big one from the Combine. Penix is currently rehabbing a November 2025 ACL tear. GM Ian Cunningham confirmed last week (March 3) that he is "on track," but because this is the third tear of that same knee, medical experts are flagging a 12-month window for full lateral stability.
-- (same intro daily) The new ‘daily list’ item has to do with free agency. Free Agent DISRUPTORS...the most compelling free agents (to me) that where they sign will affect an NFL team and Fantasy Football immensely.
Each day, I’m going to list a DISRUPTOR player in free agency and add a note and a prediction where they are going. We’ll get 10+ players listed/profiled before the FA period opens. And I’ll rank them top to bottom most interesting/DISRUPTIVE to me, as we go along…
OC Tyler Linderbaum = He’s basically gonna choose between BAL and LAC, I think. NYG is lacking money, but they’ll try and figure something out. When Linderbaum has all teams interested to go ahead and match/try to beat the best offer...he’ll then just be picking/choosing where he wants to go at that point. He’s ‘getting paid’ no matter where he goes. In that case, I think he definitely wants to leave Lamar/the Ravens sinking ship and goes to/picks the Chargers for the weather and the title opportunity. *LAC is out of the Center market. So, now we look at the Bears (even with Bradbury added) or the highest bidder. I’ll now predict the Giants…just because Harbaugh wants to see the Ravens collapse without him.
RB Kenneth Walker = He’s gonna go to the highest bidder...this will be his one and only shot. He should tithe 10% of his new deal to Zach Charbonnet for getting hurt to allow this to happen. Who is willing to pay the most is up for debate...because this should be purely about money for Walker, or any FA RB right now. A pure dart throw guess: It will be a dumb team that overpays...and my pure guess is Tennessee with ARI or DEN possible. Teams like KC and JAX would like to be in, but it costs too much and they aren’t in great money positions right now.
QB Malik Willis = I really don’t think the market is that hot for Willis as it’s being portrayed -- there’s more heat after Mac Jones and Tyson Bagent. It’s probably Miami or bust for Willis...bust being CLE or NYJ. I think he signs with Miami...because Miami is ‘Miami’ always.
TE Isaiah Likely = Definitely not going back to Baltimore. I don't know why he'd go to the Giants where John Harbaugh never featured him, so I don't believe he's going to NYG at all. He’s going to the highest bidder...the team/franchise talent levels don’t matter as long as he is assured he is highly paid and told he’ll be the featured starter...but the key part is ‘and paid like it’. Likely has to cash this FA period in because he’s likely irrelevant in another 1-3 years with the talent flood at TE is just expanding like a balloon about to pop. Teams in the running: PHI, CIN, DEN, TB. My guess is: Cincinnati Bengals.
RB Tyler Allgeier = Arguably the best FA RB out there. I’m not sure how the NFL is going to go about this...will they offer him co-starter RB-duo money/roles or is there a team out there ready to go ’all-in’ on him as a lead. This has the makings of a ‘smart team’ written all over it...so I’d say the Bears (who will be dumping/trading Swift) or Jacksonville would be the ones to watch. The sleeper place, where he’d blow up/soar in the Dynasty rankings -- is signing with Arizona. People are ready/assuming on the Ken Walker big arrival and payday somewhere, but the general football world (not us reading this) don’t really think Allgeier is going to be paid like a top guy/gets a great deal/landing spot.
WR Wan’Dale Robinson = I think the Giants really want him back, but they will very likely lose out due to lack of CAP space and more desire to invest in defense and Brandon Beane is the worst GM at negotiations/recruitment and John Harbaugh has no recruiting ability, especially on offensive things...and has no personal connection to Wan’Dale, so I think he’ll bolt to the Titans, who are flushed with cash and he can reunite with Brian Daboll and be closer to his Kentucky roots. He would be set to be the Titans #1 WR potentially.
RB Rachaad White = Where he goes will be interesting, because where he goes signals a split backfield with White as the PPR ace in the duo. I don’t think anyone sees him as a full lead, but some will covet that pass game ability if they’ve been paying attention. Rachaad White’s best year came with Dave Canales at O-C, so I think that’s where he is headed (CAR) when no major opportunities for him to be a lead present themselves. Also, watch out for Seattle as a sleeper for this...Rachaad can be their Charbonnet for a year.
WR Alec Pierce = A surprising shove into free agency. Smart of Indy...one decent year is not worth a top of the market type deal. So, this has a ‘sucker’s play’ written all over it -- a middle tier WR gonna get paid like a top 10 WR...that’s what dumb teams and teams who cannot attract free agents naturally do -- overpay to get someone to go there. So, who is a dumb team, with a WR need, that has CAP space to burn? TEN and LV are in a prime position. I think Las Vegas or I think this a swerve where the Patriots bypass AJ Brown to get a more mentally stable WR like Pierce. Baltimore is another guess.
RB Travis Etienne = The FA RBs from 2025 got a rude awakening with how little appetite there was, payroll-wise, for their services...and no real starting roles for them to step into. I think many of the 2026 FA RBs are gonna get same rude awakening...and I think Etienne is one of them, but maybe someone dumb pays him big. I’d rather have K. Walker, Allgeier, Dowdle, Pacheco, Brian Robinson, Rachaad, Gainwell ahead of Etienne, personally. I think there’s a chance he puts his tail between his legs and begs back to Jacksonville on a 1–2-year deal to split with Tuten. If not back to JAX on a lesser deal, then a dumb team falls for this with a big offer...like Arizona.
OG Alijah Vera-Tucker = Injured/missed all of 2025 season (torn tricep). The Jets don’t appear to be interested in franchise tagging him. He was pretty good his past two seasons (2023-2024)...out hurt all 2025. He is good, but also injury prone -- ended up with season ending injuries the past 3 years...both biceps torn and an achilles. He’ll probably do a one year ‘prove it’ deal and many will try to sign him. LAC is for sure a team that will look at it, but TEN is probably the lead contender with Robert Saleh knowing him like he does. The Steelers are in play if Aaron Rodgers likes him. My early bet is he signs with TEN.
CB Jamel Dean = One of the best corners in the 2025 season. Injury issues are the issue. The team that goes in on him is going boom/bust. He could instantly change a defense positively...or be a L’Jarius Sneed injury bust (what happened to TEN). I wonder if the ex-Bucs guys will go after him...Liam Coen/JAC, Dave Canales/CAR. Not sure either needs to over invest in a CB though. I’m gonna go with the ex-Bucs guys in Las Vegas...Brady/Spytek.
(end of intro)
3/08/26, Day 43 in JAX
29 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
6 weeks down, 2 more to go.
This will be known as the day where...
I have no real news! What a relief.
Just a normal day crunching Dynasty projections. My wife left at 3am+ to drive home. My son left after we had breakfast. Then I barricaded myself in my room to work, sleep, did my laundry, and worked some more. A normal, quiet day is now a rare, journal-worthy event!
I’m just getting ready for today’s kickoff of my last 2 weeks/final 10 radiation treatments.
My daily food diary...
Day 43 food spend = $27
BREAKFAST = First Watch for $15 with my son.
LUNCH = skipped
DINNER = Chipotle Barbacoa burrito $12
Month #2 (through 15 days) = $345 total spend...now at $23.00 per day average.
43-day total food spend = $950...$22.09 per day average...we’re moving further away from the $20 per day budget!!
Not bad.
