Just a quick rundown on what’s coming up for the next week/month/offseason on FFM once the NFL regular season ends today...
The 2023-24 Season NFL Playoffs:
We will cover and scout every playoff game in the postseason and have a full game report on each playoff game all the way up to the Super Bowl extravaganza.
The playoff games shift Dynasty player perceptions and valuations going forward, so they are key to the offseason process for sure.
We will also have weekly projections on the players playing each week, for those in postseason FF leagues/tournaments or working DFS, etc.
Dynasty and Best Ball Rankings
I’ll be working on the 2024 Dynasty Valuations/Rankings all January into February and the top 600 board is planned to debut the week after the Super Bowl.
The top 500 Dynasty IDP valuations/rankings will be worked on from February into March for release as quickly as we can get it evaluated and locked in.
Once the valuation/ranking boards are live, we update them weekly all throughout the preseason.
2024 NFL Draft Scouting
Like every January, for the past decade, I begin my all-offseason scouting/study/analytics on 700+ prospects for the upcoming NFL Draft. It’s the foundation of interpreting the upcoming NFL/FF season...for Fantasy and handicapping. Those Bryce Young and Carolina Panthers ‘under’ bets didn’t just hit me out of the blue...and I didn’t get a ‘hot tip’ on them. That was hard work and my unique scouting gift among men.
I am the hot tip.
I am the defeater of mainstream NFL Draft scouting and football analysis.
But being ‘that’ takes a ton of research every year, and it’s about to begin for me – watching back most of the College Football 2023 season, over and over and over again from the perspective of various prospects, both offensive and defensive.
The first scouting studies will be underway the week of 1/8/24, once the NFL regular season closes...and my first scouting reports of 2024 will debut around mid-January, hopefully on the earlier-than-that side.
We have the East-West Shrine and Senior Bowl to scout early in the offseason draft scouting process. We have prospect’s careers and backgrounds to research for the next 8 months. We have the NFL Combine and Pro Days to process and interpret. It’s not easy...and it’s fluid/changing all the way as new information comes in or is discovered.
The 2024 NFL Draft scouting journey is about to begin.
2024 NFL Draft-Mock Drafts
You’ll see Mock Drafts from our award-winning mock drafters about to debut for 2024 soon...and they’ll be mocking all 2024 pre-NFL Draft as we vie for the national Mock Draft accuracy titles and historical top spots once again this year.
2024 Senior Bowl
My Senior Bowl preview scouting process will begin after Week 18 ends. I’ll spend 20-30+ minutes with each invited/accepted prospect’s tape and data to start the scouting process on them. We’ll assign grades and rankings by position upfront/ahead of the event week itself, then I’ll observe and study the week in Mobile and re-grade/re-rank the entire group (except OLs) after the week in Mobile, the Senior Bowl game itself, ends.
We will hit the East-West Shrine Game prospect class with preview grades and rankings as well...Ross Jacobs is our veteran scout of the East-West event, and he has already started the 2024 process of finding his usual gems. His reports ill be out 2nd-half of January before the E-W week begins.
The Senior Bowl is a major piece, one of the foundations of the scouting season...as it leads into the NFL Combine and Pro Days data which helps build our analytics database to statistically and visually grade these prospects.
Dynasty Player Major Reports AND Rewind Studies
Every offseason we identify certain players/situations to buy-sell and do a deep-dive analysis on the case to buy or sell, and we’ll do the same this season. Last year, our major piece for 2023 offseason was the major case for Rachaad White as the top RB prospect in the NFL and his RB1 case...followed by similar theory on Isiah Pacheco, who were both cornerstones of our Dynasty teams and Redraft strategies. The year prior it was why selling Kyler Murray and Diontae Johnson was imperative.
These reports have been visionary for the upcoming seasons...and they’ll debut when I have the light bulb go off in all my offseason studies of the league, players, and every changing situations.
Our ‘Rewind’ studies have also been key – studies where we look back at the tape of the entire prior season for confusing players/prospects or situations and try to confirm or deny love-hate for these players and release a full report of our findings. ‘Rewinds’ will begin after the Super Bowl.
Week 18 Game Reports
I will be scouting all the Week 18 game tapes, but I will only report out on the ones that have the most action – and by that, I mean the ones where young players getting chances had breakout (or bust) moments or established players really helped/hurt their 2024 valuations. About one a day reports on Week 18 next week and possibly into the following week/throughout January. We have more time to work with them since we don’t have any FF regular season deadlines to hit.
Offseason Video Shows
We are working on plans for video shows in the offseason...a weekly subscriber Q&A session like last year is the potential plan but we’re looking at different concepts. More on that to come after the Super Bowl. I might take a week or two off before starting them up again for the offseason. Schedule of shows will be out soon.
We will be doing ‘Bet The Close’ Podcast every week leading into playoff weekend – RC, Chris, and AndrewDFS.
Of course, we’ll have the NFL Draft live stream extravaganza as always (Day 1 and 2).
Handicapping
All offseason we will be on the hunt for profit opportunity... Whether it is with the playoff games and playoff props or the NFL Draft betting or the first release over/under win totals for the 2024 season and then over/under season props on the players...the ROI quest never ends, all year ‘round. Not just in-season...the best opportunities, as we proved in 2023, lie in the offseason...when most people are mostly ‘asleep’ on football and are being led around by the almost-always-wrong mainstream draft hype...being led around by their Bryce Young-loving overlords.
Football analysis is getting worse, not better, over time...and we’re on the frontline looking for the opportunities to profit off of it.
Postseason Awards
Our annual postseason awards tournament for MVP, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Defensive Player of the Year begins after the season closes, as we take a daily ‘matchup’ look at each team’s candidates going head-to-head, tournament style, to determine our FFM awards winners – the winners will face off the day before the NFL announces their winners, for a comparison...and we’re usually WAY different than the NFL’s choices.
And more...like NFL free agency, our NFL Draft livestream shows, early release redraft guide...
The football studies, the search for football profit, never ends at FFM.
