My weekly 'Best and Worst' TNF piece -- but this one has an interesting twist...
Appearing on the Fantasy Sports Logic TNF DFS Preview podcast on Thursday to talk about SF-NYG, the podcast is really a preview of the game (for DFS purposes) but also a working session to set lineups using their optimizer software (and FFM projection's data option) in order to submit into the Million Dollar First Prize DFS Showdown contest on DraftKings. So, we did the show/session and adjusted lineups based on my scouting...and wouldn't you know it, this is no joke, one of the Optimizer entries finished first place of 176,000+ entries for the Million Dollar Prize.
Good news = My first part in a 1st-Place/Million Dollar winner in DFS in my career (first of many I hope).
Bad News = 124 other entries had the same score/lineups essentially. It was a 125-way tie for a Million Dollars...which goes from a $1,000,000 payout to $10,000+ for each winner.
Not a bad ROI but you can't help but think about the Million...but in these solo night games, there is often a tie for first/duplicates with the limited players to work with, but it's not usually this much of a crowd. Still...I can technically say FFM had its hand in it's first Million Dollar contest DFS 1st-place win.
With that, it was back to work -- and not 'off to early retirement', with my TNF B&W comedy article: https://www.sportstopia.io/post/best-and-worst-tnf-week-3
