An extended discussion of the Washington RB situation after watching this game…
Brian Robinson is really not that great of a running back. He’s very slow moving/reacting (compared to most NFL starting RBs). There’s a reason why Chris Rodriquez was drafted.
If you mix together: BRob not all that fluid + a bad/mediocre O-Line + they drafted a professional runner in Rodriquez per the new O-C’s desire = I think the time with Robinson as the lead here is at great risk.
Antonio Gibson is going to take the receiving juice…leaving BRob with 1st and 2nd-downs behind a bad/mediocre O-Line and a QB no one is afraid of? Then what if Chris Rodriquez comes on to take some of that ground game because he just ‘makes’ yards…and BRob cannot compare?
Rodriquez looked solid here…he looked ‘as expected’. He’s the best pure pounding runner of the ball they have, for coaches who love to pound the ball.
I am downgrading (some more, not a huge fan anyway) Brian Robinson next draft guide and Dynasty run. I am bumping up Rodriquez in Draft Guide and Dynasty and the DRD.
If I owned BRob in Dynasty, I’d consider trading him while he has good value left. I’m investing in Rodriquez for the price in DRDs.
Robinson gets the first shot Week 1...but I don't think he can convert on his shot, for long.
