Add Intro: Now, more featuring my (RC) news and notes from the day's/week's discussions and/or studies...
Old Intro: Whenever I come across any football news reports/articles in my research or sent to me by FFMers that I think are interesting or back up/contradict/debate things I've discussed, I'd like to share them for extra/interesting reading material...and have them put into the archives so if you you are researching things about a player or situation, you can search it on the FFM site and it's part of the arsenal for your research.
It will be mostly reports on players/situations not as discussed nationally (but could be from national/big media sites), but are (hopefully) relevant to Dynasty/Fantasy/Handicapping purposes as we go...with the occasional item that I just thought was interesting in general about anything football related.
Here's what I have for this day (noting the players/situation discussed for future archive search purposes with a link to the article):

*2023 Draft Guide v1.0 has been posted*
-- Garrett Wilson
Perhaps the ‘hottest’ name in Fantasy right now is Garrett Wilson. Why?
(a) Because he plays for a New York team and their ‘things’ get more attention than most other things (Dallas Cowboys and maybe the Chiefs excluded). Why New York still holds such sway in the sports landscape, I have no idea…I mean, I get that it’s a big population area with a steep history -- but the world is more global now…the U.S. has other interesting places besides New York. And I’m a native New Yorker, so I can rag on it. I can’t get a decent slice of pizza anywhere else, but I can get much better football about anywhere else.
The media loves New York things, from football to everything else there, so we get skewed/saturated coverage. We have to recognize that as football profiteers…it sways the FF and handicapping markets because the bigger media drumbeat sways the public. We are truly sheep in that way.
(b) Garrett Wilson was a high draft pick from a top covered college program…and now resides on a NEW YORK team. Could life get any better? Chris Olave? B-O-R-I-N-G (same background as Wilson EXCEPT he plays for the boring Saints no one cares about). Garrett Wilson is seen as a future elite WR…and that future is likely starting this year, according to the press. Hell, the way they talk about him…he might as well be called ‘elite’ now and get it over with. Now, with Aaron Rodgers there and the media sycophants that brings out…there’s no stopping all the Jets preseason hype. They will be the HBO Hard Knocks team for sure, I bet.
What do I think of Wilson? He’s fine. The Jets #1 WR with a QB whose numbers are fading and a new O-C who totally embarrassed himself last year…and a WR surrounded by Rodgers’ and Hackett’s handpicked friends from Green Bay (Lazard and Cobb). But I’m sure Wilson will be fine. WR1? Maybe. Top 5 WR elite? Hardly/probably not. Possible disappointment WR2 if this crazy Aaron Rodgers ship starts to sink off the jump? Maybe.
I know this -- what the media thinks of WRs and QBs observing them in June training camps, in 7-on-7 and noncontact drills is almost meaningless. Our next clues on this will be in August…but probably not even then because doubtful Rodgers takes a preseason game snap. Maybe he’ll grace us with one series all of August…for HBO’s sake.

-- Injury updates…
1: Brock Purdy resumes throwing, and momentum is picking up for him to ready for Week 1, but it’s still all speculation on that…whether they will cut him loose in August or September, or take it slow…but there’s pressure, probably, to NOT have Trey Lance start and make this a blown up QB controversy.
The SF QB situation and all its ripple effects will be the biggest story of August in the NFL.
2: Wan’Dale Robinson tore his ACL midway through the 2022 season. He’s going to likely NOT be ready for Week 1 and probably goes on the PUP list and misses the first chink of the season. NYG has a thousand WRs to lean on, so no need to rush him.
3) Shaquille Leonard has no timetable set for his return…it’s getting very mysterious and worrisome. He may not be back for a while…his career could be in jeopardy. Zaire Franklin becomes more and more an IDP winner for a second year running.
