College Football Metrics 2023 Update (the January Plan)…
First, the big change for 2023: No more separate CFM subscription in 2023. We’re going to an all-access subscription model.
We wanted to make it easier for everybody to find/access what they wanted -- and we got to where we had so many a la carte items/subscriptions and combo discounts that it started to get to be too much of a nuisance for everyone. So, when you subscribe to Fantasy Football Metrics in 2023…you have access to all that we’re currently doing and all the archives of the past on everything, college scouting and pro everything (with a better, more advanced search feature on the new site for player reports/mentions, etc.).
Our website is going to be updated/upgraded with a totally new look a few days after the 2022 NFL regular season comes to a close. Information on how to subscribe to the new FFM will be out in a few days from now with more information on the exciting changes we have in store for 2023.
As far as January 2023 college scouting material to come…
I have begun the 2023 NFL Draft/Dynasty Rookie Draft scouting process, which swings into high gear when the Week 18 games come to a close.
Scouting reports for individual prospects are planned to start rolling out the week of January 16th, after the NFL wild card round…and keep rolling out into August/the preseason, as usual.
Typically, January is mostly all QB prospect scouting reports but this season we’ll be sprinkling in more early reports on non-QBs…and then updating these reports/grades as we get the NFL Combine and Pro Day data to do our metrics analytics grades on the prospects.
The Fantasy/Dynasty offseason/preseason 8+ month study program is about to begin! Class is about to be in session!!
Once Week 18 closes, I will also begin the Senior Bowl scouting preview process…
-- Preview scouting all the Senior Bowl prospects pre-Senior Bowl week (except OL and K/P) will take place over the next few weeks.
-- We will publish our positional preview scouting grades/ranks/commentary (and Dynasty Rookie preview top 10) Senior Bowl reports in a couple weeks leading us into the Senior Bowl week coverage and commentary.
-- We’ll scout the week of Senior Bowl activity and report out on all the going on and rumors I’m hearing/getting on the ground there for the practice week and the game itself.
-- After the Senior Bowl week closes, we’ll re-rank each position with the new/fresh Senior Bowl week of scouting and notes.
The Senior Bowl is later (calendar-wise) than it has ever been…into the first week of February. We’ll cover it all, pre and post event…and then it’s time to start scouting and reporting for the NFL Combine!
*Ross Jacobs will be working the East-West Shrine Bowl scouting again this year.
On top of all the scouting work starting up this offseason, we’ll also be doing ‘rewind’ studies on NFL players of Dynasty interest…our look back at the tape of their entire 2022 season, to project/give guidance on them for 2023. We’ll also have our usual Dynasty/Fantasy game reports on each NFL playoff game as well. Never a dull moment for Dynasty/Fantasy GMs in the offseason.
