2022 Mock Draft 4.0 (Half-PPR, 4pts pass TD, Flex, 17 rounds, #12 slot)
Mock #4 is going to be a quicker pace/shorter commentary run from the #12 slot. Let’s see how we do with the back-to-back pick scenarios…and let’s see if any of the elite 8 players (Henry-Taylor-Ekeler, Kupp-Chase-Adams-Jefferson…and we know Tyreek will, but that’s too early) are at #12 to start us out.
1st-Round (pick 1.12)
1.1 Christian McCaffrey
1.2 Jonathan Taylor
1.3 Cooper Kupp
1.4 Austin Ekeler
1.5 Derrick Henry
1.6 Justin Jefferson
1.7 Ja'Marr Chase
1.8 Najee Harris
1.9 Dalvin Cook
1.10 Joe Mixon
1.11 D'Andre Swift
1.12 Davante Adams = A lot of my top guys are gone, but one of them fell to #12…so we’ll take it!
-----------------------
2nd-Round (pick 2.01)
2.1 Saquon Barkley = Wanted to take an RB here since it may be a while before my next. We’ll see. Considered Mike Evans for half-PPR here to go power WR-WR and then stumble around for RBs but I took a shot on Barkley.
2.2 Stefon Diggs
2.3 Nick Chubb
2.4 Javonte Williams
2.5 Aaron Jones
2.6 Deebo Samuel
2.7 Travis Kelce
2.8 Alvin Kamara
2.9 CeeDee Lamb
2.10 Leonard Fournette
2.11 Josh Allen
2.12 Ezekiel Elliott

3rd-Round (pick 3.12)
3.1 Antonio Gibson
3.2 Mike Evans
3.3 Cam Akers
3.4 Mark Andrews
3.5 Tyreek Hill
3.6 A.J. Brown
3.7 Keenan Allen
3.8 James Conner
3.9 Jaylen Waddle
3.10 Tee Higgins
3.11 Breece Hall
3.12 Kyle Pitts = Shocked Pitts was there, so I’m taking him. If you feel Pitts this high is too risky…and you wanna fade TE, go for it. It’s not a wrong instinct. Sometimes I’m willing to take the gamble.
MY ROSTER:
QB =
RB = Barkley
RB =
WR = Davante
WR =
TE = Pitts
DST =
PK =
-----------------------------------
4th-Round (pick 4.01)
4.1 Justin Herbert = A lot of players I’m into, especially at WR, will be available next few round (I think), so I’m going to keep taking ‘best in class’ assets instead of sound/filler RB-WRs.
4.2 Courtland Sutton
4.3 Diontae Johnson
4.4 DK Metcalf
4.5 DJ Moore
4.6 Patrick Mahomes II
4.7 Michael Pittman Jr.
4.8 George Kittle

4.11 Elijah Mitchell
4.12 DeAndre Hopkins
MY ROSTER:
QB = Herbert

5.5 Amari Cooper
5.6 Travis Etienne Jr.
5.7 AJ Dillon
5.8 Michael Thomas
5.9 Chris Godwin
5.10 Allen Robinson II
5.11 Marquise Brown
5.12 Darnell Mooney = I’m going to add Mooney here…the clear top target for Justin Fields, and a real WR talent.
MY ROSTER:
QB = Herbert
RB = Barkley
RB =
WR = Davante
WR = Mooney
TE = Pitts
DST =
PK =
-----------------------------------
6th-Round (pick 6.01)
6.1 Rashaad Penny = Looked at Hunt or Penny, but I’m betting on Penny being the strong lead for Seattle out of the gates. I need to take him early since I won’t have another pick for 23 more picks. This is a gamble play…you could do other RBs you like here and I wouldn’t complain.
6.2 Dalton Schultz
6.3 Jalen Hurts
6.4 Lamar Jackson
6.5 Drake London
6.6 J.K. Dobbins
6.7 Miles Sanders
6.8 Jerry Jeudy

7.6 Matthew Stafford
7.7 Hunter Renfrow
7.8 Treylon Burks
7.9 Elijah Moore
7.10 Damien Harris
7.11 James Cook
7.12 Kareem Hunt = Surprised Hunt fell here. I usually would look to take Cordarrelle Patterson here, but I’ll change things up for diversification to take Hunt instead…on the shot that the Browns trade or cut him if Deshaun gets a deep suspension (can cut Hunt for $0 hit…saving $6M cap).
MY ROSTER:
QB = Herbert
RB = Barkley, Hunt
RB = Penny
WR = Davante
WR = Mooney
TE = Pitts
DST =
PK =
-----------------------------------
8th-Round (pick 8.01)
8.1 Allen Lazard = I need to take Allen Lazard here, right now, to have a shot. Hoping Toney-MVS are available next.

8.5 Clyde Edwards-Helaire
8.6 Tony Pollard
8.7 Chase Edmonds
8.8 Ken Walker III

QB = Herbert
RB = Barkley, Hunt
RB = Penny
WR = Davante, Lazard
WR = Mooney
TE = Pitts

9.7 Skyy Moore
9.8 T.J. Hockenson
9.9 Michael Carter
9.10 Chris Olave
9.11 Christian Kirk
9.12 Kadarius Toney = I’m gonna try and run the board here of 9-10-11 picks of Toney-Lance-MVS
MY ROSTER:
QB = Herbert
RB = Barkley, Hunt
RB = Penny
WR = Davante, Toney
WR = Mooney
TE = Pitts
DST =
PK =
-----------------------------------
10th-Round (pick 10.01)
10.1 Trey Lance = Taking Lance as a possible 4pts per pass TD QB weapon to use/trade to go with my Justin Herbert selection.
10.2 Dameon Pierce
10.3 Michael Gallup
10.4 Rondale Moore
10.5 Tom Brady
10.6 Alexander Mattison
10.7 Darrell Henderson Jr.

11.8 Jahan Dotson
11.9 Jarvis Landry
11.10 Raheem Mostert
11.11 Kirk Cousins
11.12 Marquez Valdes-Scantling = I’m going to be light at RB this go ‘round…but if I give myself that freedom, I can load up an all-star team with all-star depth and I’ll add RBs through waivers and trade, etc. I LOVE MVS for this value.
MY ROSTER:
QB = Herbert, Lance
RB = Barkley, Hunt
RB = Penny
WR = Davante, Toney
WR = Mooney, MVS
TE = Pitts
DST =
PK =
-----------------------------------
12th-Round (pick 12.01)

13.8 George Pickens
13.9 Mike Gesicki
13.10 Cole Kmet
13.11 Brian Robinson Jr.
13.12 DJ Chark Jr. = Five more picks to go. Nothing specifically needed/desired that I MUST have now. No real RBs to mess with, but I’ll take a shot on one in these next few picks. I’ll take Chark here looking for a hot start banking on Jameson Williams (whom I love) being out for a bit to start the season.
MY ROSTER:
QB = Herbert, Lance
RB = Barkley, Hunt
RB = Penny
WR = Davante, Toney
WR = Mooney, MVS, Chark
TE = Pitts, Knox
DST =
PK =
-----------------------------------
14th-Round (pick 14.01)
14.1 Jamaal Williams = Going to take a flier on Jamaal Williams and see if maybe injury prone D’Andre Swift gets injured in the preseason, or just get a decent split-lead RB in half-PPR working behind a good O-Line and an improving offense.
14.2 K.J. Osborn
14.3 Irv Smith Jr.
14.4 Cowboys DST
14.5 Tyrion Davis-Price
14.6 Deshaun Watson
14.7 Jalen Tolbert

15.7 Boston Scott
15.8 William Fuller V
15.9 Hassan Haskins
15.10 Trevor Lawrence
15.11 D'Ernest Johnson
15.12 Justin Tucker = I’ll exercise my pick of the litter at kicker, before the run begins.
MY ROSTER:
QB = Herbert, Lance
RB = Barkley, Hunt
RB = Penny, Jamaal Williams
WR = Davante, Toney
WR = Mooney, MVS, Chark
TE = Pitts, Knox
DST =
PK = Tucker
-----------------------------------
16th-Round (pick 16.01)
16.1 Packers DST = Taking my favorite DST for 2022…but I hate their Week 3, and don’t love their Week 1.
16.2 49ers DST
16.3 Buccaneers DST
16.4 David Njoku
16.5 James White
16.6 Patriots DST

17.2 Tyler Bass
17.3 Matt Gay
17.4 Daniel Carlson
17.5 Colts DST
17.6 Chargers DST
17.7 Younghoe Koo
17.8 Sammy Watkins
17.9 Rodrigo Blankenship
17.10 Ryan Succop
17.11 David Bell
17.12 Panthers DST = To pair with GB to get me through the first 3 weeks. I’m deep everywhere but RB, so I’ll forgo a gamble RB-WR here and bolster my DST Weeks 1-3 instead.
With GB-CAR for Weeks 1-3, I get…
Week 1 = CAR v. Brissett
Week 2 = CAR v. D. Jones or GB home v. CHI
Week 3 = CAR v. Winston
Weeks 4-14, I’m good with GB except for Week 8 at BUF
MY FINAL ROSTER:
QB = Herbert, Lance
RB = Barkley, Hunt
RB = Penny, Jamaal Williams
WR = Davante, Toney
WR = Mooney, MVS, Chark
TE = Pitts, Knox
DST = GB, CAR
PK = Tucker
*DONE*
YES! Back to the ‘D’ grade level!!
I’m not in love with my RB group here…but who ever really is happy with their RBs in FF? From the #12 spot, I miss out on all the top RBs that I really want. When that’s the case, I should consider taking another RB in the middle rounds (like CPatt) instead of drooling over all the WR potential. However…
I have star power and depth everywhere, except a soft RB group (on paper)…but a strong/feel-good RB feeling means weakness elsewhere. I have to trust I can work my way into RB depth as we go, like always.
