“You are disrespectful to the quarterback position ’cause you suck. Period. ... We’re talking about a guy [Fitzpatrick] who played for nine different teams in 17 years. ’Cause ain’t nobody want his ass."
"We’re talking about a guy who only played for a team for more than two years once. That’s Buffalo. And his record as a starter in Buffalo was 19-35. That’s f*cking suck."
"A guy who played 17 years, 147 starts, and never sniffed a playoff game. He never touched the playoffs ever. That’s disrespectful to the quarterback position."
"You suck. You suck, bro."
"We’re talking about a guy who got 169 interceptions, more interceptions than he has starts. How can a quarterback of his caliber talk about what is disrespectful to the quarterback position?"
"Nobody’s worried about what Fitzpatrick said. Nobody was worried about playing against you. You suck.”

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that the Eagles will decide whether to place Jalen Hurts (blood clot) on short-term injured reserve on Saturday.
I’m guessing that Hurts will land on IR and Philly just cashes out on the season...unless it’s not that big deal.
Joe Milton was signed off a Dallas...I assume they think he is a poor man’s Hurts. And he is not. Milton could have a shock start or two as a runner-thrower and put up decent FF points. Maybe. If Tanner McKee flops, which is likely.
Next week could begin the Saquon Barkley trade sweepstakes...if Hurts goes on IR.
Goedert may be traded as well. Ertz will be released to go join another team. Eli Stowers may get pressed into some snaps with Johnny Mundt to finish the season.
Dontayvion Wicks may be traded as well.
The remaining WRs may be sunk for 2026. Although McKee would have a lot of time with Darius Cooper.
-- ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Josh Jacobs is being removed from the NFL’s Commissioner Exempt list on Monday.
I’m guessing Jacobs pretty much walks right back into the starting lineup. It may be a limited Week 7 and then ‘game on’ from there.
The NFL is leaving the door open to finding out more/new info and suspending him further...but for now it is done.
This bodes well for Jacobs: https://x.com/JFowlerESPN/status/2111203963282284830?s=20

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- HEADLINE: Mike McDaniel could be fired as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator soon, if they’re unable to make significant improvements, per @espn. If Los Angeles cans McDaniel, Adam Gase would step in as the interim offensive coordinator.
This is the case for just holding on to Omarion Hampton. We might be about 1-2 more losses away from McDaniel asking to be fired because he’s gonna get fired. And look at the schedule: AT KC then a BYE...could happen Monday to allow two weeks transition. The Chargers are going to be (0-6) on Monday.
Then a BYE week from hell if they keep McDaniel on. Likely trades of veteran players to contenders as they get prepped for 2027.
Whatever they would do during the bye week WITH McDaniel still there...then they go AT the Rams Week 8. The Chargers are likely going to be (0-7) as we get closer to the trade deadline.
I don’t know if they will fire McDaniel mid-season or not. Jim Harbaugh is likely to be fired after the season ends, and the staff with him. A clean sweep. Harbaugh will likely fight to keep McDaniel now and just go down with the ship and not try to introduce anything new as this is the end of his coaching career for a while or ever. Just end it peacefully, no changes for him and then leave at the end.
But if Harbaugh wants to fight for his job, he’ll have to fire McDaniel after the loss this week...I think. If a change happens, the Chargers will change back to a simplified offense with a one lead RB. Keaton Mitchell will be in a quasi-doghouse as the guy McDaniel tried to push...the new O-C, whomever that is, is a showcase for a future career on offense so they’ll go with the best of everything to try to revive the offense--and that would be heavy-Hampton-led. Whether that means any success...who knows?
But change is coming...and another loss this week heading into a bye week is the perfect time to make a change. Even if it is Adam Gase...it will be made DIFFERENT than what McDaniel is doing. Whether any good or not remains to be seen. But it will change radically if McDaniel is dumped.
McDaniel will then scurry off to San Francisco to help Kyle now and forever.
-- HEADLINE: Taylor Moton (blood clots) is practicing in full for Week 6 against the Eagles.
CAR about to get a starting tackle back in time to cover Monroe Freeling injury if he’s out. If Freeling is a-go for this week + Moton back + if Damien Lewis back, the Panthers’ O-Line is going to be the most improved of the season in all the NFL...and OT Ikem Ekwonu is a few weeks away from returning from his 2026 ACL tear rehab.
The Panthers have been terrific with total injury chaos...and now they are getting their O-Line back. They likely make a CB trade and then you’re looking at a top 5 NFL team contender in progress.
Had they never lost their two starting ace CBs a few weeks ago and with their O-Line back, you might be talking the 4th-5th best team in the NFL right now.

-- Ben Johnson reaffirms a running-back committee and says no back will take 50-plus snaps.
Ben Johnson: “We're not going to have a back that's going to take 50-plus snaps in the game. I think that's just not prudent in a 17-game season to wear guys down like that. We don't have that 240-, 250-pound back on this roster. So we believe in running back by committee and spreading out those carries. Feel good about the guys up front being able to move the line of scrimmage enough to give all those guys chances. So, no, I don't think there's any discrepancy in terms of the play count or anything like that. We know we wanna spread that load out.”

Top 3 Most Dropped by Position (Week 6 Waivers)
(my AI writer/analyst’s notes, not mine)
Quarterbacks
1 = Justin Herbert, Chargers
Herbert has looked completely overwhelmed in Mike McDaniel's offense, failing to clear 13 fantasy points per game with seven interceptions on the season. Facing Kansas City at Arrowhead this week with severe offensive line injuries, shallow-league managers bailed.
2 = Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers
Mayfield's thumb injury, swelling, and erratic production led to heavy cuts this week as managers swapped him for streamable arms with immediate volume floors.
3 = Daniel Jones, Colts
Despite a clean sheet against Pittsburgh, Jones' passing volume remains modest, and without designed rushing equity post-Achilles, managers dropped him for higher-ceiling options like Winston.
.
Running Backs
1 = Alvin Kamara, Saints
Kamara was reduced to just five touches for six yards in Week 5 while Kendre Miller dominated red-zone work. With Travis Etienne Jr. returning soon from IR, managers in standard leagues are moving on from Kamara's inefficient 3.1 yards-per-carry floor.
2 = Kenny Gainwell, Buccaneers
Gainwell's backfield role behind Bucky Irving has completely evaporated, dropping to single-digit snaps and leaving him with zero standalone fantasy value.
3 = Jaylen Wright, Dolphins
Miami entered their Week 6 bye with an offense in disarray following De'Von Achane's injury. With the Dolphins averaging under 15 points per game and Wright trapped in a crowded committee, managers cut him loose.
Wide Receivers
1 = Courtland Sutton, Broncos
Sutton is averaging a miserable 5.5 fantasy points per game with the league's lowest yards-per-route-run (0.70) among qualifying receivers. With Jaylen Waddle commanding top-target status in Denver, Sutton was dropped widely.
2 = Makai Lemon, Eagles
Lemon failed to capitalize on injuries in Philadelphia's receiving corps, drawing minimal target separation and losing routes to perimeter veterans.
3 = Tank Dell, Texans
With Marvin Harrison Jr. acquired by Houston and Nico Collins healthy, target volume dried up entirely for Dell, prompting an avalanche of waiver drops.
Tight Ends
1 = Dalton Schultz, Texans
The addition of Marvin Harrison Jr. to Houston's receiver room alongside Nico Collins slammed the door shut on Schultz's weekly target projection, making him an immediate cut candidate.
2 = Mark Andrews, Ravens
Andrews has seen his route participation shrink steadily, functioning largely as an inline blocker in Baltimore's ground attack and offering almost no weekly receiving floor.
3 = Darren Waller, Panthers
Carolina entered a difficult road stretch, and with Waller failing to top three targets in three consecutive weeks, managers moved on to streaming options.
Defense/Special Teams (DST)
1 = Dallas Cowboys (Away at Green Bay Packers)
Dallas was shredded again in Week 5, forcing the Cowboys to demote defensive coordinator Christian Parker to the booth and bring in Mike Pettine. Heading to Lambeau Field to face Jordan Love, fantasy managers abandoned them in droves.
2 = Cincinnati Bengals (Bye Week)
Cincinnati is on bye in Week 6. Managers who used them as a Week 5 streamer against Miami dropped them immediately rather than burning a bench spot.
3 = Minnesota Vikings (Bye Week)
Also entering their Week 6 bye. In standard leagues without deep benches, managers routinely churn top-tier defenses rather than carrying a dead roster spot.
Placekickers (PK)
1 = Jason Sanders, Jets
The Jets' offense continues to rank among the lowest in red-zone scoring efficiency, and heading on the road to Gillette Stadium against New England, managers cut Sanders for high-floor alternatives.
2 = Tyler Loop, Ravens
With Baltimore leaning entirely on heavy red-zone power running and fourth-down aggressiveness, Loop has seen very limited field-goal opportunities.
3 = Jake Bates, Lions (Bye Week)
Detroit is on bye in Week 6. As standard fantasy practice dictates, managers cut Bates to the waiver wire to secure an active leg rather than wasting a bench slot.

"Needs someone strong at the top to reign in some of his worst behavior."
"He once threatened violence to his GM and made irrational demands during an ownership meeting."
"One long-time senior team executive said, 'He may have changed since, but he was the worst hiring decision we've ever made.' Another President of a club refused to talk about him."
"He was able to build a strong friendship with a billionaire's son which gave him opportunities to socialize and learn how to build relationships with white-collar and upper-class individuals."
"Has little people skills, lacks self-awareness and can sometimes exhibit erratic behavior."
"His personality is unpredictable - not sure who is going to show up."
"Wants to be a CEO-type Head Coach but micro-manages in a negative manner."
"Chip on his shoulder - can be a dictator with players, coaches, and can even be difficult with ownership."

-- @32BeatWriters: “The shift to the shotgun gap scheme that favors (Samaje) Perine also meant a lean away from the under-center run game the Bengals worked on throughout the offseason, partially to create more explosives for Brown. He was positioned to be the workhorse back in this offense again and unleash his dynamic burst to pile up explosive runs.”
-- Brady says he has not involved Kincaid enough over the past two games, especially early
Joe Brady: “There's obviously plays on the call sheet that didn't get called. I think Josh will be the first to say there's some that he wishes he had back to be able to get him some touches. But, look, I think he's playing outstanding football. And you see what he does to our offense and being able to push the ball down the field and be able to make the plays. And, man, I just have not done a good enough job of getting him involved these last two games, especially early, and it's showing up in our offense. He's too dynamic.”
-- Bengals OC Dan Pitcher said the team will “continually assess how that touch share between [Perine] and Chase Brown should play out.”
-- Bills coach Joe Brady said James Cook needs to protect the ball or he’s going to get fewer carries.
-- Rams LT Alaric Jackson has been suspended two games for punching Bills EDGE Bradley Chubb after Los Angeles’ Week 5 loss.
-- Chargers worked out free agent WR JuJu Smith-Schuster on Tuesday.
-- Dolphins claimed WR Jared Wayne off waivers from the Texans.

MNF First Reaction...
-- I thought the Rams were gonna be so dominant? MVP QB, top O-Line, Puka, two top CBs acquired, Aaron Donald back, Myles Garrett in? The last 3 weeks they play down to the wire every game. And they’re down in most games and have to try to mount a comeback.
This is our dominant, all-star level NFL team?
3rd-best team in their division...clearly...no even close.
Right now.
Remember when then old dynasty Patriots would start slow and everyone would declare them ‘over’...and the there they were at the end. Different times, but I bet the Rams do their normal ‘peak’ in the 2nd-half thing.
-- Josh Allen’s last 4 passing games this season...
248-204-263-210 for yards.
3-0-1-1 = TDs
0-2-1-1 = INTs
-- I don’t think I’ll watch the NFL Combine this year.
Slow Kyren Williams is a great NFL back.
Slow Josh Allen is the single most effective running QB there is.
Slow Puka can’t be covered.
-- Exactly one catch for 7 yards on 2 targets for Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid in this game.
-- Since returning to action Week 3 from a preseason injury for Ty Johnson...
131 yards receiving = Ty Johnson
52 = Dalton Kincaid
164 = Kyren Williams

-- HEADLINE: Texans released WR Jared Wayne.
I was wondering if he was gonna get cut to make room for Moping Marvin Harrison. He did.
Now comes a test for the NFL.
Is there any NFL personnel department paying attention to football and scouting it, for real? If so...and WR is a need or you just want to bump a weak WR off your roster, you’ll’ grab this WR...WHO IS BETTER/MORE GIFTED THAN MHJ. More upside to develop if anyone is paying attention.
My hope: Signed by San Francisco.
My bet: Indy. Second guess: Cincy.
Most likely: Signs with the HOU practice squad.
Not a Fantasy star around the corner, but they guy is showing skills at a great NFL size and he’s gonna go right past every NFL GM, I bet, this next 24 hours. He deserves better.

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- Change to the MON-TUE reporting/workflow...
I'm making an executive decision regarding the executive reporting we used to do on Mondays, which we split into Monday and Tuesday this year. I'll lay out the "what" first, followed by the "why."
WHAT’S CHANGING:
I am turning Monday into a dedicated research day focused on the most critical takeaways from Sunday’s action—specifically targeting what matters most for Tuesday night waivers.
On Mondays, my sole focus will be researching key players and situations, reporting my findings throughout the day as I uncover them. I'm not writing a massive report on each player; I'll keep each update to a tight paragraph or two, expanding only when warranted.
I am eliminating the "Three Things" game-by-game summary from the Monday report. It was a nice recap, but in evaluating my Monday/Tuesday workflow, writing 5,000 words summarizing every Sunday game was causing me to miss the week's biggest opportunities. For fantasy purposes, we don't need broad game recaps; we need actionable intelligence: emerging opportunities, developing red flags, trade targets (buy-low/sell-high), and waiver targets.
So, the "Three Things" format is done. Instead, Monday becomes a rolling research feed: gathering urgent intel and pushing out concise updates in batches of one, two, or three throughout the day. The "Three Things" breakdown took up so much bandwidth that I was missing breaking news, trade chatter, and phone calls/texts from sources. Cutting those game recaps is the cleanest way to reclaim that time.
We are testing this new research-day format and live notes system starting today.
This Monday research will feed directly into Tuesday’s work: the "Five Players" breakdown (waivers, trades, IDP, etc.). That piece remains in place—potentially expanded—and will publish on Tuesday fueled by the deep dive started on Monday. With so many injuries every Sunday and concrete medical updates rarely surfacing until Tuesday, it makes far more sense to finalize the player recommendations when we have complete information ahead of Tuesday night waivers. Trying to force it out Monday, only to have the landscape shift hours later, had become counterproductive.
WHY WE ARE CHANGING:
First, spending hours on game summaries left me playing catch-up on the deep research and player breakdowns. I was spending more energy on administrative formatting and editing than on actual analysis. Attacking the research upfront on Monday sets up a significantly sharper executive report on Tuesday before waivers run.
Second, I simply cannot keep working 15+ hour days, seven days a week. Trying to manage serious medical issues while working around the clock—dictating notes while driving to appointments, taking calls and text on the road (while driving), typing in waiting rooms—it has to stop. It has made me a distracted driver, left me completely unprepared for medical appointments, and then I barely process what doctors tell me because my head is still buried in Sunday's tape and upcoming deadlines.
My recovery and medications require real rest, not four to five hours of broken sleep. I've cut sleep, stopped exercising, haven't set foot in the gym since before the preseason, and the steroid side effects/weight gain are catching up with me. I've jammed my schedule trying to be a superhero and uncover every hidden football gem, but running with zero margin creates a constant ripple effect: one delay or appointment throws off the entire day/week, leading to rushed work and degraded quality. The idea that I can "outwork it and catch up tomorrow" isn't working—it just makes the back half of the week an unmanageable sprint to Sunday.
I am resetting this schedule to be more effective, protect the quality of the work, and stop grinding myself into the ground. We’ll see how this test run goes today/this week. (The Falcons almost gave me an aneurysm last night anyway, so the NFL is the real culprit here.)
OK, back to real/fake football...
-- The trade...
Texans get: Marvin Harrison Jr. 2027 7th-round pick
Cardinals get: 2027 2nd-round pick 2027 6th-round pick
The Texans will regret this trade. It’s a nice haul for Arizona, who might turn this into a top 5 or top 10 2nd-round pick to pair with their own high 2nd-rounder, based on where Houston is heading.
Houston thinking they are just a wide receiver away for C.J. Stroud is laughable. If they had plowed all those resources and scouting into the offensive line talent and depth, they wouldn’t be in this offensive mess. C.J. Stroud needs protection, not a WR4/5 talent. I say this with a completely straight face: Jared Wayne is a better wide receiver than Marv.
This deal will take targets away from Nico Collins for a stretch. C.J. Stroud is totally invested in making this MHJ deal work. If the Texans miss the playoffs and Marv doesn’t produce, the GM is likely gone and C.J. Stroud won't be back. To some degree, C.J. Stroud just staked his future payday in Houston on MHJ—and that’s a terrible bet.
Nothing changes in Arizona other than Kendrick Bourne seeing a few extra targets.
This trade gets massive attention for obvious reasons, but in reality, it carries very little positive on-field impact for 2026. MHJ was doing next to nothing in Arizona, so he won’t be missed there. "Moping Marv" won't make a positive difference in Houston, either; if anything, he’ll have a negative impact while the Texans burn opportunity trying to justify him, just like Arizona did during his first two seasons.
When I initially said Marv wasn't the best receiver in that 2024 draft class, it raised eyebrows. A few others agreed that Malik Nabers was better—that's surface-level scouting that was easy (to me).
Then I took it further and stated that MHJ wasn't even a top-5 wideout in that class, and people called it insane. Nobody wanted to hear it.
When I followed that up by saying I wasn't even sure Marv belonged in the top 10 of that draft group, everything else I said was tossed straight into the "you're crazy, we're not listening to you" bucket.
Well...
My current rankings of the top 10 WR prospects TODAY from the 2024 NFL Draft:
1) Malik Nabers
2) Ladd McConkey
3) Rome Odunze
4) Jalen Coker (UDFA)
5) Devaughn Vele
6) Jalen McMillan
7) Malik Washington
8) Keon Coleman
9) Brian Thomas
10) Roman Wilson
--------------------
11) Xavier Worthy
12) Ryan Flournoy
13) Adonai Mitchell
14) Marvin Harrison
That’s what the Texans just gave up a 2nd-round draft pick for. Someone needs to be fired after this plays out.
