-- HEADLINE: Seahawks plan a heavy workload for rookie RB Jadarian Price, maybe including kick returns
“We’re going to run wide zone and he’s going to run wide zone,” Mike Macdonald said, via Seahawks.com. “We’re going to run some gap scheme. He’s going to run some of that too and then the pass game he can come alive, too. I think that’s part of our offense in general, that we can take another step in including our halfbacks in the pass game. Then, he’s a great special teams player as well. The kick return stuff, we’ll see how it shakes out in other phases, but he’s going to come in and compete with the rest of the guys.”
He’s going to play as much as he proves he is worthy of, which I think will be ‘a lot’ eventually. Out of the gates, it may be muted...but it won’t be too long before he is FF viable even splitting with George Holani early on. Probably by Weeks 3-5 Price will move into the heavier role for touches and Holani be relief and 3rd-down protection. Not sure how high Price can go Year 1, but eventually he will be ‘the man’ in a duo.

-- In the series of statements pasted into one graphic, Brandon Aiyuk creates the impression that, after he told the NFLPA he didn’t want to appeal the 49ers’ voiding of his guarantees because he would just play for the Commanders, the union decided to “start a smear campaign and tarnish your NIL.”
Aiyuk suggests his response was to say it would “make me sad but I’m still going to DC.” He then indicates that the union’s response was to clam up.

Let’s check in on the top receiver groups for a fun little tournament all July. We’ll do one matchup per day. The top 3 WRs facing off, then #4 matchup is the lead receiving TE, then #5 is the #4 WR matchup. Best of 5 matchups, first to 3 wins...and we’ll stop it when hit the three wins.
I will pick the WR that I like best as if I were an NFL GM...and just for having them for the 2026 season...based on talent not age/injury worries. Strictly talent I covet.

3) Cooper Kupp d. Kendrick Bourne (SEA 2-1)
4) Trey McBride d. Elijah Arroyo (2-2 TIE)

-- HEADLINE: Bleacher Report’s James Palmer reports Aaron Donald is “putting himself through football workouts” to determine if he is in shape to return in 2026.
So, this means Donald is intent on coming back…no doubt.
Now, whether he can come back physically he’s double checking to be sure. But if you keep up with Donald at all—he’s constantly working out.
And he retired early not due to not able to keep up. He was sick of being double teamed all the time, was part of his reasoning. I’m sure he’ll be physically cleared by the team...and cleared by his own self.
The older, still productive DT/DLs are just hitting some prime 30-33 years old. They’re OK 34-35, and some still really good 36+ on like Calais Campbell approaching 40 and Cam Heyward at age 37.
Aaron Donald is 35.1 years old today.
Once he officially makes the decision, two things (of many) will happen…
1) The Rams DST will run up to #1 in DST ADP.
2) Other stars will be looking to join this all-star team. The Rams are only gonna get better from here, which is insane to think about.

-- HEADLINE: This could easily be Kyren Williams’ last year with Rams
https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/could-easily-kyren-williams-last-234012723.html?guccounter=1
The math/economics makes sense, but my prediction: Kyren will never leave the Rams. He would not be in demand in the open market, so he’d take a respectable deal to stay a Ram for a longtime and be whatever McVay wants him to be.

-- Appearing on Cam Heyward’s “Not Just Football” podcast, the longtime NFL coach did not shy away from praising Steelers quarterback Will Howard.
“The guy has the it factor,” Jon Gruden said. “He’s got a very good charisma. He’s smart, and he’s a great communicator. He’s got some talent. He did it at Kansas State. He won the National Championship at Ohio State. He’s got that winning aura that I think a lot of people covet.”
Later in the podcast, Heyward asked Gruden about Brad Johnson, who won Super Bowl XXXVII, and what made him so special. Gruden then flipped the question around to compare Howard to the former Super Bowl champion.
“I compared Brad to Will Howard, honestly. Brad was the bull. We called him the Bull because he was tough as hell. He took a lot of shots. He was a great pocket passer, a great communicator, and he was loyal to the team. He didn’t say anything negative, nothing bothered him. He was mentally and physically tough.”

-- HEADLINE: NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill reports Alvin Kamara and the Saints are finalizing a “new deal.”
I’m shocked by this. The Saints can’t get rid of Kamara...he was willing to take a new/lesser deal to stay, I believe. Don’t have the details yet. Kamara wants to stay in NO, so he is. It’s a huge hit to Travis Etienne’s FF outlook for 2026. We have to take Etienne down on projections because...how do you just run Etienne heavy and leave Kamara on the sidelines all game? And what if Kamara has a renaissance and outplays Etienne? Then what?
-- HEADLINE: Texans T Braden Smith (neck) underwent neck surgery earlier this offseason and is “tracking towards a full recovery for training camp.”
This could be one of the unsung, better moves of the 2026 offseason...if Braden has anything left in the tank. The Texans are an O-Line away from the Super Bowl...they made a great effort to come up with one this year. Smith being back on a full recovery would be huge.

I couldn’t remember how long Diggs and Cousins played together, and I thought they left each other on bad terms. So, I did some GEMINI research:
----------------------
Yes, Stefon Diggs and Kirk Cousins played together for two seasons (2018 and 2019) with the Minnesota Vikings.
Cousins joined the Vikings in free agency ahead of the 2018 season, overlapping with the final two years of Diggs' tenure in Minnesota before Diggs was traded to the Buffalo Bills in March 2020.
During those two seasons, they were a highly productive pairing, especially on deep balls. In 2019 alone, they led the NFL in completions and touchdowns on passes traveling 20+ yards in the air. Diggs put up consecutive 1,000-yard receiving campaigns with Cousins under center before moving on.
Their professional relationship was often described as a "complicated but respectful" partnership. While rumors of tension and frustration always swirled around them in Minnesota, both players have consistently maintained publicly that they never had personal issues with one another.
The dynamic breaks down into a few distinct layers:
1. On-Field Frustration vs. Personal Respect
On the field, Diggs' body language occasionally hinted at frustration with Cousins' conservative tendencies or missed opportunities, which led many to believe they disliked each other. However, Cousins later revealed that during the 2019 season—when trade rumors were peaking—Diggs directly went to him to clear the air. Cousins noted:
"He made that pretty clear from the start, 'This has nothing to do with you,' and we talked about it."
2. The True Reason for the Split
The tension wasn't a personal feud with Cousins; it was a fundamental clash with then-head coach Mike Zimmer’s run-heavy, defensive-minded philosophy. Diggs wanted to be the focal point of a modern, aggressive passing offense. With Dalvin Cook dominating touches and Adam Thielen sharing targets, Diggs felt his elite talent was being underutilized in that specific system, which prompted his desire for a fresh start.
3. Mutual Praise Post-Trade
When Diggs was finally traded to Buffalo in 2020, their parting interactions were overwhelmingly positive:
Cousins' parting text: Shortly after the trade, Cousins texted Diggs to tell him: "You’re as good as any receiver I’ve ever played with... you're elite."
Diggs' perspective: Writing for The Players' Tribune after his departure, Diggs squashed the beef narrative:
"What do I even say about Kirk? This is a man who has invited me into his home. Introduced me to his family. Put in the extra hours with us. He’s a guy who, through all the ups and downs over the last couple of years, I’ve developed a tremendous amount of appreciation and respect for."
In short, they weren't a perfect football marriage because of the offensive system they were forced to play in, but they shared a strong foundation of mutual professional respect.

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- HEADLINE: Giants coach John Harbaugh said with Jaxson Dart “can live in a lot of different worlds” and “we can run RPOs, we can run quarterback-driven runs.”
Harbaugh was asked about keeping Dart healthy in his second season. The coach signaled that the situation isn't too far off from what he experienced with Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.
"I mean, he's aware of it," Harbaugh said of how important it is to keep Dart healthy. "You got a fine line. I remember hearing the same thing about Lamar, and the same things were said about Lamar really every year but especially after the first season."
Harbaugh noted some criticisms of Jackson's style of play, with some suggesting it would never last in the NFL. Ultimately, the coach opted to trust the two-time MVP and he plans to take the same approach with Dart.
"I trusted that he was gonna protect himself because he wants to be out there and he wants to play and it's not the type of a sport where you can put yourself in bubble wrap. You're gonna play ball and you're gonna get tackled and things can happen out there.
"But I do think playing the game in a way that respects that there are other guys out there that are capable of doing damage to you when you have the ball in your hands, especially for the quarterback, is important. I trust that Jaxson Dart understands that."
You cannot try to stop Dart from running...you just gotta let him go...and that’s why he’ll be terrific for FF (if healthy)...especially when he has a healthy Malik Nabers back...somewhere around Week 8-10 Nabers may start looking like his old self...or for sure 2027.
Do I worry about Dart being too injury prone?
I mean, yes...but in the context of--what aren’t any of us worried about on any player or any given day/week? Dart plays QB with a linebacker’s mentality...like Baker Mayfield. They’re likely to get hurt more often than pure pocket passers who never leave the pocket...especially these days when you cant land on or hit the QB in the pocket in certain areas.
I always plan to have two #1 QBs on my FF roster at all times, so that I always have one.
-- HEADLINE: ESPN’s Rich Cimini reports Geno Smith’s assault allegations case has been declared “inactive” by police.
HEADLINE: Rams OT Alaric Jackson will not face criminal charges after being arrested in June on suspicion of domestic violence.
I wrote a long rant about this, but I scrapped it. I’ll just keep saying on these -- I told ya’ so. No need for me to keep repeating myself.
The players are being taken advantage of by ‘outside parties’, and they’re 50% to blame for being so stupid by putting themselves int those situations. They’re not guilty of a crime 95%+ of the time in these initial allegations or arrests...they’re guilty of being idiots.
-- HEADLINE: The Athletic’s Vic Tafur reports George Kittle (Achilles) is ahead of schedule.
I’m pretty sure Kittle is gonna force himself to play and be back by Week 1, but the big question is -- when will he be ‘back to normal’?
Most likely it will take into October...and comes with an elevated risk of some other related injury from rushing back and babying/protecting the injured area and it puts strains on other body parts to cause another injury.

These are things you think you’re going to care about a lot, and I guess the idea is, ‘That’d be cool, to have an office and put some things up.’ And then you ultimately don’t care about it. -- HEADLINE: Speaking on the Netflix series Quarterback, Baker Mayfield revealed he played with a sprained MCL and PCL after Week 2 of last season.
Baker Mayfield details injury-riddled 2025: Buccaneers QB had knee, bicep, AC joint ailments
A healthy (2024) Baker Mayfield was #3 in passing yards and #2 in passing TDs in the NFL (Weeks 1-17) and #4 in FF PPG.
2025 was a trainwreck, PLUS Baker had Tristan Wirfs injured some in 2025.
In 2026, in theory, everyone is gonna be healthy. I am questioning hard if I’ve I’m underestimating this QB that I really respect as one of the top guys in the game...when he’s healthy. I’ve been gun-shy on his coach, the O-C change (again), and his proclivity for getting hurt.
-- HEADLINE: The Athletic’s Daniel Popper believes Charlie Kolar could be a breakout candidate for the Chargers this season.
There’s a Charlie Kolar renaissance happening/starting. It’s not crazy that he could be a TE2 while Oronde Gadsden is a TE1/2/#3 WR-like in 12 personnel.
His current TE ADP is #72 on FantasyPros. Behind Tommy Myers among others. I have no idea who Tommy Myers is, honestly.

-- HEADLINE: ESPN’s Stephen Holder reports DJ Giddens “didn’t develop as quickly as the Colts hoped during his rookie season.”
Beneath the surface of that reported RotoBlurb, with a little research, is... BUT the Colts are seeing nice progress this offseason. It’s a ‘gotcha’ headline that is misleading. I’m not saying that DJG is golden and Seth McGowan is nothing in this #2 RB battle, but this headline makes it seem like Giddens is dying off.
I was supposed to have a call with one of my Colts guys this weekend, but it got pushed to today...I wanted to get more insight as to how this #2 RB fight is going. I’ll report it out ASAP and change the HOLY Handcuff report if I need to.
-- HEADLINE: Pittsburgh Union-Tribune’s Chris Adamski believes Kaleb Johnson is “not assured” a spot on the roster this year.
That’s the first domino to fall in this Kaleb downfall. It looks like the end is near.
I am also hearing trade rumors...the kind where the Steelers are just dumping him for like a 6th- or 7th-round pick. Green Bay and Seattle are the first two teams I heard mentioned, but that’s not rock-solid intel...just rumors/talk.
-- A total sidebar into baseball...(and there’s a gamble/bet item here if you make it to the end)
I’ve been watching the baseball much of the NFL offseason. 98% watching the Astros, ‘my team’ you could say. So, most of my limited opinion on baseball is from (half) watching a ton of Astros games and then also the 3-6 games they would have faced ___ opponent. So, I have a small sample size to judge other teams outside the division. Except for...
My youngest son has not cared a wit about sports his whole life. He was a decent youth soccer player but stopped playing when he hit high school (his school didn’t have a team). He played some little league baseball, and church basketball + church flag football. But he never watched a sport or collected cards or anything.
NOW...now I finally have my joy...my youngest son has fallen ‘in like’ with baseball. Why? A YouTube streamer he followed was a big Mets fan and would play video games on a stream but also passionately follow his baseball team at the same time...and my son started getting interested in what he was watching/reacting to, so he got an MLB TV monthly subscription and started sampling ‘baseball’.
I told him he better be an Astros fan, like most of his family...which was likely the kiss of death for that to happen. He kinda liked the Mets because that guy on YouTube did, but he was shopping around. Of course, I kept pushing the Astros. He kept checking over teams. And then he landed on one and has stuck by them--and it’s now officially HIS team.
I asked him after a week or so of watching MLB back in April--“Did you pick a favorite team yet?” And he said “Yes.” Then he said, “Don’t be mad but I think I like the Pirates.”
I tried to contain myself. I set him down and explained--“Son, the Pirates suck. They’re always in last place. They always sell their good players off. It’s gonna be a miserable experience when your team is losing a lot and never in the playoffs, etc.” Well, he liked their new city connect jerseys and hat.
How could I argue with that?
As long as he was getting into baseball, I was happy.
So, from then on in we’d lightly and intermittently talk about the Pirates and he’s ask me questions trying to learn the game a little, etc. In April, I noticed the Pirates were hanging around 1st-place at the time, so I was like “Look at that! Enjoy that while it lasts!” Then they faded back to a ‘in the wild card’ team in May...and then fell outside of the Wild Card in June, but still ‘in it’.
But I started watching them more in June to talk about them with my son. And the more I watched, the more I thought...this is a scrappy good, young team. Good for them. Good for my son. Then I watched more and more, and the more I’ve watched the last couple weeks, I’m like--this Pirates team is really good, promising...exciting. Each week I saw more and more people in the stands at Pirates games.
I was so impressed, I put $5 down on the Pirates to make the playoffs a couple weeks ago at +176. Just for fun...and because I was so impressed. They’ve definitely got ‘something’, I thought in June. Then I’m watching them into July, and they are starting to become ‘monsters’. That Pirates offense is something...WAYYY better than the Astros, and everyone in the Astros division...by far. Then I watched them this weekend spank the 1st-place (in their division) Brewers this weekend, sweeping them in a 3-game series...and then when they were totally rocking Milwaukee with a 10-run 4th-inning on Sunday--I put $10 down on them to make the playoffs at +217.
I’ve watched most of the teams in baseball play a few games or more this season...including the top names like the Phillies, Braves, Dodgers, Rays, Yankees, Brewers now. The best accumulation of offensive players/the best offense/scariest offense that I’ve seen this season--the Phillies #1 then I’d say the Pirates #2 and gaining. I don’t know what the league numbers/stats are but my eyes say it’s the Phillies and Pirates. Pittsburgh is LOADED with young talent, young hitters, and young/live arms on the mound. I wish the Astros were as good and deep and promising as the Pirates.
Pittsburgh may fall short of the playoffs in a loaded NL, but I think they are better than most NL teams...and they are gaining ground/getting better every week even though two of their best players have been out hurt. One is coming back soon. They don’t have the experience, but they have the talent that may overcome. I now have two favorite teams. It’s really been a blast watching the Pirates. I can feel the Astros window closing on them...and when it shuts at the end of this year, it’s gonna be some time to retool it, I think. The Pirates--they are way ahead of the Astros now and for the future. Looking forward to watching my new co-favorite team into the future! If they keep all this talent instead of selling it to the Yankees, which it looks like they are really trying to stay intact under new ownership.
Just an FYI story for baseball fans and bettors at their who may be looking past the Pirates as if they were the Cleveland Browns of baseball or just want something to root for until football season starts. Maybe it’s under the radar some or maybe it’s the story of the year in MLB, but since I do not follow baseball talk AT ALL--I couldn’t tell you.
I have not looked at team baseball stats in years, decades...before there was RC the football god, there was RC the baseball nerd wannabe. So, I had to go look at the team stats just to see the current team offensive stats...
Batting Average: The Pirates lead the league (.263) *Astros 17th.
Home Runs: The Pirates are 6th (1250 and climbing. *Astros 3rd.
Runs Scored: The Pirates are tied with Washington for 1st (516) *Astros #11
Totals Hits: The Pirates lead the league (886) *Astros 12th
Total Bases: The Pirates are 2nd (1,437) *Astros 6th
A flaw...Strikeouts (hitters): 2nd most in the league (917) *Astros 17th most.
