 == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==

-- Travel day today, for me. Headed to Jacksonville today for my first follow up appointments from my 8-week radiation treatments with my oncologist and radiologist team Monday-Wednesday.

I’m going down a day early to let my wife do her absolute favorite thing in the world...go sit on the beach. We already discussed it ahead...this is a business trip for me, and a beach reward for her.

She’s had a very difficult 2026. Teaching 5th graders is a grind every year, but then throw in that when I went to Jacksonville for treatments for two months in Feb.-Mar., she was teaching all week and leaving on Fridays after school to head straight to Jacksonville for Friday night, Saturday in FL, and then head back to NC Sunday to do the work week all over again.

In the middle of that pattern, her dad (lives alone) fell down in the middle of the night...couldn’t get up and wasn’t discovered for over 10 hours. That set off a rush to the emergency room, and a touch-and-go first 3 days hospital bound very sick--where my wife was getting the vitals info and visual sense that caused her to start mentally preparing to plan his funeral...to then a miraculous turn day five at the hospital, and then he walked out of the hospital on about day 9-10 from when he was admitted. We still don’t know how it happened...besides the faithful prayers of many people and a lot of the FFM community (thank you!). My wife was then working all day, heading to hospital after work, spending the night with him, getting up from there early going to the house to take a shower and go to work again...rinse and repeat for several days. All this happening at home while I’m sick and battling radiation in Jacksonville.

She’s a warrior...especially a prayer warrior. She deserves a few days at the beach to veg out and relax.

I’ll be doing my relaxation too...in the hotel room, in the AC, working on the draft guide and listening to stock market coverage/podcasts and also going to appointments to be poked and prodded...and not sitting too long at the beach. I don’t love the beach. I love the sound. Love the surroundings. Not a big fan of the sand and the heat.

Thursday of this week, I’ll report out the test results and what the doctors said my first quarterly report. I’m like a Wall Street stock right now...I have to get/give quarterly reports now. I will have to do that for probably the next two years/8 quarters and then they’ll reassess everything and take it out to an every 6 months check for a few years, if everything is great, best case. Worst case, one of the testings comes back that the cancer is making a comeback and all my timelines are thrown out the window and new plan has to be formed.

This first quarterly test this week...should be fine. Low risk that it wouldn’t be a good report this time. But each quarter from here it’s a bigger battle of the radiation I did/they did + my ongoing meds/therapies vs. the cancer’s ability to adapt and rise up like weeds in your lawn (or not). Cancer learns from its losses and finds new ways to survive...cancer really is like weeds. You think you pulled them up by the roots and bombarded them with chemicals, but dammit there they are next spring. Cancer is smart and persistent.

The battle rages on. Right now, I have a big lead...but I can’t get complacent.

Off to my adopted hometown of Jacksonville today!

-- I feel like I’ve seen this article/reports for weeks, but this attached report is from 6/19. And the message of this report has been kinda put out there for weeks for sure--another article in a deluge of Kenneth Gainwell hype this offseason...hype/speculation from the media--but they are taking their cues from the words of the coaches.

I think there are, have been for months, warning signs that the Bucs are worried about Bucky on a number of levels, so they went and spent up on an experienced clone/Gainwell. And they brought back Sean Tucker for big (contract) bucks for a #3 RB.

Something is going on with the Bucs and Bucky. It may be just insurance...but it’s a lot of insurance, more than any team does for their #1 RB.

== QUOTES & QUOTABLES (pulled from an internet A.I. search, I try to make sure it’s accurate but some of it is ‘trust in AI’) ==

-- This name was going to be important in 2027: Nate Scheelhaase  https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/rams-oc-nfl-fast-track-170200106.html

-- Earlier this week, former Steelers G.M. Kevin Colbert defended the decision to draft Kenny Pickett during an appearance on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh.

We projected Kenny to be a start-and-win NFL quarterback, and quite honestly, he lived up to that in his first two seasons with us,” Colbert said, via Jack Markowski of SI.com. “For us, he was 14-10 and trending in the right direction. So that’s what we thought we had in Kenny. Kenny’s a great young man,” Colbert said. “He’s a great competitor. . . . And I still think at a young age, I still think Kenny can continue to build on what he did with us in those first two seasons.”

-- “With seven fourth-quarter comebacks in 2025, including the playoffs, and a catalog of highlight-reel throws in closing minutes, the third-year pro (Caleb Williams) is climbing the charts as a top quarterback. He threw for nearly 4,000 yards with a 27:7 TD-INT ratio in his first season under Ben Johnson, despite his inconsistencies as a passer. If Williams continues to refine his game under Johnson’s direction, the league is on the verge of witnessing the birth of a megastar who could rival Patrick Mahomes as the ultimate late-game closer,” Brooks said of Williams.

NEW for JUNE: 2026 Strength of Schedule analysis according to FFM!

I am putting my data into GEMINI and letting it do two things...do my calculations for me on our internal NFL-based ‘Strength of Schedule’...which takes a ton of things into consideration like our current win-loss projections for all teams 2026, analysis on weather, and travel, and BYE week impacts, etc.

I’m doing a slow burn for some daily fun/fare, BUT I’m also running my AI writer/creation AI_McGillicuddy1 to take all my data and guidance/notes and then make a report on the schedule as if he is an expert schedule analyzer (with our data) and then writes it in his comedic way that I constructed him to be like...a Frankenstein writer, half robot/half football writer/comedian.

We’ll add a team’s strength of schedule per day until we’re done. But we’ll begin with the first two, to get us started, the A’s group and then their quick schedule analysis reports from AI_McGillicuddy1 will hit during the day.

How we evaluate the SOS is a winning percentage (like everyone else), but ours is weighted for certain factors on top of our own internal projections for 2026 season strength of the 32 teams. The higher the % above .500, the tougher the schedule and vice-versa.

Our FFM Internal SOS for 2026, current:

*Adding Warren Sharp’s #1-32 rank on their S.O.S. calculations just for a fun check/parallel to a football research group that also gets that S.O.S. is a whole different animal than just “what was their record last year?” For Sharp Analysis notes, it’s displayed as #1 their easiest/#32 toughest scale.

 == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==

-- UPDATE: (Re)Draft Guide 2026 Version 1.0 with the 2026 projections/valuations and the first wave of commentaries is projected to hit July 1-4th.

We’re about two weeks later than normal, but the NFL schedule was dropped a few weeks later than normal...which seems like it is gonna be the new normal with the ever-expanding international schedule and all the new one-off solo games around the holidays with the various streaming companies.

-- HEADLINE: New Orleans Football reporters unanimously listed Saints RB Alvin Kamara as the team’s RB2 in their first 53-player roster projection.

The Saints might go 1a/1b with their official listing, but it wouldn’t shock me if the official first 53-man roster in July-August is Kamara as the #2. I think the Saints are trying to send a kindly/polite/respectful message to Kamara--that they don’t want him around anymore. No bad blood, but they are moving on...but Kamara is being a ‘squatter’s rights’ player and refusing to leave. I think he thinks he’s still ‘the man’. He isn’t.

When the next big RB injury hits...the AK trade sweepstakes will begin.

-- HEADLINE: Cardinals team reporter Darren Urban writes that he does not know when or if the team will extend WR Michael Wilson.

My guesses as to what’s gonna happen here...

1) The Cardinals will offer an Alec Pierce-like extension this summer...and Wilson will turn it down, wanting to put up killer numbers with Jacoby Brissett to drive his upcoming free agency pricing to the moon.

2) But if the Cardinals piss off/trade Jacoby Brissett and he’s not the starter in any way Week 1/this season...Wilson may take a Pierce-like deal before the season starts because Wilson is staring down and an unknown season (without Brissett) and he would likely get franchise tagged anyway in 2027, so he should just take the good money now and maybe try to get traded later or hope they find a good management team in the future.

The Cardinals are not in full control of this Wilson negotiation/extension...Big Mike has a hand to play.

Big picture I think Wilson would like to leave, but I think he’s gonna get trapped in Arizona a la Breece Hall with the Jets, and is just gonna have to get the best deal he can, for now. His best deal is probably to negotiate in October if he splashes out to a fast start in September and puts any remaining mainstream/Arizona MHJ hopes and thoughts away for good.

-- HEADLINE: Cardinals team reporter Darren Urban believes QB Jacoby Brissett will start in Week 1 against the Chargers.

Everything with the Cardinals, for FF, rests on whether Brissett starts are not.

The Cardinals should feel backed into a corner to have to pay Brissett like $15-18M for a season and let him showcase then move on to a bigger deal in free agency 2027...or give him a 2-year/$30M deal with like $18M guaranteed.

Arizona is running out of time for 2026...and the longer this goes on, the longer I think Arizona is trying to find away around Brissett...which leads to either trying to claim Sorsby or trading for a teams #2/young QB. You can wait on BIG deals for the summer vacation season at all positions EXCEPT QB. You need the QB in hand now organizing summer camps with the receivers, etc.

I don’t know that the Cardinals really care about winning in 2026...and if so, they don’t need to address this ASAP, which is the way they are acting.

I’m not gonna be shocked if Gardner Minshew is the opening day QB and ruins all things Arizona...while they develop Beck and Sorsby for their future.

-- HEADLINE: The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt reports AD Mitchell has demonstrated “budding chemistry” with Geno Smith in offseason practices.

AD Mitchell is the ultimate OTA WR.

Aaron Glenn is trying to make ADM into his Jameson Williams ‘tough love’ project. Maybe it will work. Probably not.

-- Another one of these where the case is seemingly falling apart, but this one is BIG for the Rams: https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/j-jackson-won-t-charged-173453891.html

-- Latest TST dropped yesterday was scouting UDFA WR Jeff Caldwell: https://youtu.be/MDXRkW2h7dQ?si=zX9EdWwsyk3Tyadi

New TST dropping today to discuss Brendan Sorsby’s DRD value, pre-Supplemental Draft.

== QUOTES & QUOTABLES (pulled from an internet A.I. search, I try to make sure it’s accurate but some of it is ‘trust in AI’) ==

-- YouTube walked away from NFL package after Australia game went to Netflix

-- Tennessee and star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons have agreed to a historic three-year extension worth $105.8 million, including $100 guaranteed, according to ESPN.

Simmons, who turns 29 in July, is coming off his third All-Pro selection and first on the First Team, and his fourth Pro Bowl honor.

The contract immediately becomes one of the richest deals ever awarded to a defensive lineman and reinforces Simmons’ status as one of the NFL’s premier interior defenders.

-- “Right now it’s early — it’s only what, June — but I feel like we’ve got a chance to be legendary,” Kameron Curl said. “Just the type of guys we got, the coaches we got. We’ve got a bunch of experience back there. We’ve got some Super Bowl winners in there, we’ve got some Defensive Player of the Years. We’ve got some guys that, if we do what we’ve got to do, we can be one of the best.”

-- Eagles OTA ‘losers’, per an observer: https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/6-losers-eagles-spring-practices-181630827.html

I’m not a big soccer guy, in general, but I love the World Cup...strictly for watching the USA...just like I liked watching the USA Olympic Hockey team and Team USA baseball this year.

Nice win for the soccer guys yesterday, I watched it all.

I’ve watched the USA (casually) in the World Cup for like a couple of decades now...and I agree with the pundits--this is by far the best USA team I have ever seen.

I put $5 on Team USA to win the World Cup on Kalshi after watching the first-half of their first game in this tournament...pays $195 if I get it. That’s now gone from almost ‘no chance’ to ‘something’.

I also put $5 on them to win their Group D after watching their 1st half of their first game and being so impressed--for an $8.81 payout...and that paid yesterday.

Next up Turkiye on THU 10pmET. A meaningless game, kinda-sorta.

 == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==

-- HEADLINE: The Denver Post’s Luca Evans thinks Broncos RB Jonah Coleman will “probably” play right away.

Coleman is getting a run as the passing game back in OTAs as RJ Harvey isn’t fully back from his injury, so I think the observers are getting a bit ahead of themselves/head-faked by who is playing and who isn’t in OTAs.

On the other hand, Coleman is getting a golden opportunity to show what many missed/didn’t even look in the pre-Draft--Coleman is a great catcher of the ball out of the backfield, which doesn’t compute if you didn’t truly scout him because he is built like a small fullback and is thus thought to only be a short yardage guy. If RJH were healthy and taking all the 1st-team work no one might notice Coleman, but the situation has arisen to give Coleman a platform that he is very impressive with.

RJ Harvey might be ‘on the ropes’ in Denver...already...after a 12 TD rookie season. JK Dobbins back is one reason...Coleman getting the showcase is the other.

-- HEADLINE: Commanders coach Dan Quinn said RB Rachaad White stood out throughout the offseason program. Reporters asked Quinn to name players who stood out and stepped up throughout the offseason. White, WR Van Jefferson and rookie WR Jaden Bradley were the three offensive players.

White is a given...and this means he is working hard at OTAs and has the coach’s attention.

Van Jefferson? He’s roster-worthy, but man...I’d hope some other players would stand out for you.

Jaden Bradley, I had to take a quick look again at this rookie WR...to re-remember him...and then I bumped him up in the DRD rankings. He’s a long, lanky WR with a little something that needs further/deeper investigation. Not like a looming superstar was discovered...just, he’s got something to offer with his catch radius and decent feet.

From a separate ESPN Commanders OTA report: It's hard to single out one player as a few stood out. Tight end Chig Okonkwo displayed his speed, notably on deep crossers, as he developed a connection with Daniels. But perhaps the standout player on offense was running back Rachaad White, a free agent signee from Tampa Bay. It's no surprise that he caught the ball well out of the backfield, showing speed in practices.

-- HEADLINE: Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said the team recently held RB Javonte Williams out of team drills to give RB Jaydon Blue and RB Phil Mafah more work.

So, who will be the #2 behind Javonte?

OTAs won’t tell us.

OTAs is THEE WORST PLACE to scout RB talent.

And Jaydon Blue is a non-contact kinda player/MVP. I bet he is awesome in shorts and football T-shirts once again. Whereas Mafah’s gifts come out when you put the pads on.

The fact that Mafah’s name keeps popping up along with Blue...advantage Mafah.

Deion later said a bit more, on the topic of the player(s) to whom Hunter could be compared.

There’s no comparison to what he’s able to produce on the field,” Sanders said. “It’s no comparison. I can’t say who I would compare him to, because I would be lessening that person. That’s not fair to him or the persons that I’m comparing it to. He’s different, man.”

Today/tomorrow

-- DRD update today, the planned update each week...the TUE update was a special for Sorsby addition.

-- TST/Two Scouts Talking accidental TE series that happened is now complete.

Ep. 6 (Terrance Ferguson) dropped yesterday, which is connected to Ep. 5 (Loveland) and Ep. 4 (top TE talk/tourney).

Ep. #4 = https://youtu.be/coY2RLsoDR4?si=oPV7Vk5Id9r6S29_

Ep. #5 = https://youtu.be/4gfubtSvTOM?si=SkdccxFIcA7C8Oik

Ep. #6 = https://youtu.be/ev-T5ZU42vs?si=c52nt530fWxPoFpM

-- New DRD Mock Draft series, a five-round draft post-OTAs, started 6/16 TUE and runs one-a-day until we get through all 12 spots to draft from.

-- NOTE: I’m researching and working through all the main/key injuries lingering out there in the NFL/for FF as I work on the draft guide, which has ripple effects for all rankings and ratings and betting, etc. And I am getting a lot/learning a lot from them...and GEMINI does a lot of the heavy lifting/research, so everybody wins.

I’m gonna keep them coming as we dial in the 2026 Draft Guide projections and commentaries. I’m working my way down from the major/monster ones to the more curious/suspect/double-check-and-make-sure-things-will-be-OK injury Q&A’s...like with a Bo Nix (posting today).

-- The month of June is Draft Guide prep and reporting season. It’s pushed back a little bit from usual time ranges due to the Schedule release being so much later this year.

-- A ‘Strength of Schedule’ light reporting, daily series runs through June.

-- Miscellaneous reports on things that come my way and more scouting reports to come. I have a backlog of them to get published already.

-- Dynasty and Best Ball rankings audits/updates weekly +/-.

-- Holy series QB and RB done. Holy RB Handcuffs underway (on hold for draft, since we’re this close)

-- Full scouting reports on various prospects from now until the NFL preseason. Deeper looks at Cyrus Allen and more all on deck.

-- Any FFM News & Notes or Special Reports during the day as I get them.

-- New coaching staff hire’s analysis series...trying to slot/schedule this. Once the Draft Guide is set, I hope/plan to turn to this.

 == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==

-- HEADLINE: Saints WR Chris Olave is scheduled to get off blood thinners on June 29.

Olave has been on blood thinners after a blood clot was discovered in his lung prior to Week 18 of last season, restricting the alpha wide receiver to individual drills up to this point in the offseason program. The good news is that he’s reportedly set to get off blood thinners in less than two weeks, after which he will look to gain clearance to return to unrestricted football activities.

How is that Olave has all these medical issues, serious ones...super-serious ones and yet the Saints are talking about a long-term deal with him. I don’t mean to be cold, but business is business. I can’t invest heavy in Olave for FF or if I were an NFL GM.

And if the Olave situation wasn’t tenuous enough, they drafted (highly) a WR in the 2026 class with a boatload of medical history...super-talented, but a checkered medical history. Olave didn’t start falling apart until he played a few years. Tyson, everyone knew about ahead of his draft.

The Saints are on the verge of possessing a great WR duo or massive injury-riddled heartache.

-- Louisiana Sports’ Ross Jackson believes Oscar Delp “won’t see such a limited role in head coach Kellen Moore’s offense.” Jackson noted that the rookie tight end was “the top target for the team’s offense” during the team’s first day of minicamp.

Interesting, but there may be more to this where Delp had to work with the 1st team. I can’t imagine they benched Juwan Johnson in OTAs to push Delp as the lead TE.

I’m sure Delp will see a role...because every offense is going to rush into 2-3 TE sets this season, so Delp will see time, but this is Juwan Johnson’s job/primary TE target in 2026. The future is Delp, the current is Juwan.

So, after I wrote that I contacted an LA. Friend/source...

My source says: Delp was playing on the 1st and 2nd team off and on and did some 3rd team lightly. Mostly he was 2nd team with Spencer Rattler. And the most targeted guy was not Delp, in my source’s opinion...it was Travis Etienne by Shough.

 == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==

-- HEADLINE: The Athletic’s Dane Brugler believes the “best guess” is that a team uses a Day 3 pick on Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby in the supplemental draft.

NO.

WAY.

Sorsby is going for a minimum of a day two pick (2nd or 3rd round). He will likely not go in the 1st round due to his issues, but more importantly...everyone is worshipping the 2027 NFL Draft (and DRD), so they don’t want to give up 1st round picks for that draft.

Everyone’s mind is going to go to “What bad team with QB needs could make this pick?” But I think on an equal level is: “What good team that knows they will pick later in 2026 could scoop up a top 10 NFL Draft ‘hope’ prospect at an critical position and get to sit on them where they’d never have a shot a guy like this normally?”

NFL teams are run by media/fan critique-fearing football lifers with no business sense, so assume non-daring things is what will happen, but I could see James Gladstone trying to be a rebel to make a move here.

So, who do I think is going to make a move on Sorsby?

My off-the-cuff rankings of what team and where?

Cardinals 2nd round

Jets 2nd round

Jaguars 1st round

Browns 2nd-round

Eagles 1st round (they’ll assume they’re picking late 1st, so not as big a give)

Buccaneers 2nd round (I have a feeling Baker may make a run for the exit instead of staying there/signing an extension).

Panthers 2nd round

Jaguars 2nd round

Eagles 2nd round

And all of them (above) doing it in the 3rd round instead because they’re all ‘scaredy cats’ of doing anything the media doesn’t approve of.

-- QUOTE: "Seeing Rachaad out of the backfield catching it -- he was on the return game the other week -- he's got great hands, so what does he add into it on some third downs?" Dan Quinn said.

The unawareness of the NFL of the things within the league, within its industry, is absolutely mind-numbing.

Really, Dan? You think old Rachaad might be used for 3rd downs some because of some good catches you saw in OTAs? You’d think Quinn cannot be this ignorant...but it makes total sense, because the entire league doesn’t get how good Rachaad is in the passing game beside it being blatantly obvious to all Fantasy Football players, who are 2x better aware of talent than the people getting paid 7-figures to know it.

Enjoy your final season ever as a head coach, Mr. Quinn.

-- HEADLINE: Vikings hired former Bears GM Ryan Pace as a football advisor. Pace was fired by the Falcons after a few years in the building.

I have no idea what the Vikings are doing with their hiring this offseason...one of the worst seasons of coaching and GM turnover that I have ever seen. Not just the people they lost, the people they are hiring to fill spots is a disaster.’

Vikings’ coaches abandoning ship this offseason...and then them hinting at issues among the staff to the media once gone...the firing of the GM with no great plan after that...they tried to get rid of Brian Flores, but they couldn’t (again)...various coaches candidates turning them down...good ones leaving...that O-Line coach hire may be the biggest a-hole coach in the league along with Flores.

Ryan Pace is a disaster, and now they see that and hire him as an advisor. Advising what? How to be terrible as a personnel exec?

The Vikings may be a shocking implode in 2026, forcing a lot of tough decisions in offseason 2027. What used to be the team players loved to play for and graded highly has come apart at the seams the last year+.

-- Just an OTA report of interest to take a gander at, even thought they are mostly meaningless/football starved fodder reports to hopefully get some clicks on their site’s advertising items...but this one had a few little notes of interest, I think...things I’ve heard from my trusted sources as well:

== QUOTES & QUOTABLES (pulled from an internet A.I. search, I try to make sure it’s accurate but some of it is ‘trust in AI’) ==

-- Bo Nix on track for training camp, says 2nd surgery was for bone spurs

-- Mike Singletary: I see a lot of Patrick Mahomes in Caleb Williams

-- (YAHOO) “I think they’re falling apart,” Ben Roethlisberger said. “I don’t think they’re the same team.”

Roethlisberger took it a step further to say that he doesn’t believe that Baltimore’s championship window is open anymore.

“[I] feel like their window closed,” Roethlisberger said. “To me, losing Harbaugh, King Henry’s a year older, his body’s taking a beating. What was going on with Lamar last year? He just didn’t seem like the Lamar that we’ve been used to seeing.”

-- (YAHOO) Some feel like he (Mims) has to convince the Broncos he is worthy of a new contract, but head coach Sean Payton doesn’t see that at all. Instead, he sees the need to get Mims more touches. Because when gets those touches, big plays happen.

He doesn’t need to convince us,” Payton said on Tuesday. “I feel like each week when we go in to game planning, we’re always talking about certain things, and his name, I know, comes up from me. Every time we continue to ask him down the field, give him these opportunities, he takes advantage of it. He’s been very consistent. It’s just a matter of getting those touches. But very important games, even in Buffalo—I could point to a number of games. It’s a good problem to have, but he’s doing well.”

-- Cam Ward has had some accuracy issues at times during OTAs over the past couple of weeks, but the Tennessee Titans' coaching staff isn't concerned.

"Every quarterback is going to miss a couple here and there," first-year head coach Robert Saleh said. "I would say Brock Purdy's one of the most accurate quarterbacks in all of football, and he would miss a lot of throws, and that's OK. These guys are all working on a few things here and there."

Your moment of Zen for this day...

-- This is weird/odd to be chosen for this ‘honor’, but you will be compelled for the entire 13+ minutes, and you’ll be suddenly aware of how you do what this video is about in general. I know I did all day yesterday: https://youtu.be/M1XBaD0Scho?si=1LJb0xNXMp_y1kcy

 == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==

-- HEADLINE: Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby plans to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft.

I thought this would happen, thus Ross and I did this ‘Two Scouts Talking’ video on scouting Sorsby’s talent and what his valuation might be if he were in the 2026 NFL Draft: https://youtu.be/x2c70UL1WVk?si=OIqugNmWB1XSZpSW

I have added him to our DRD board. I will post a DRD update today to show where we have him initially.

Some of the ways league commissioners are proposing to handle Sorsby in Dynasty now...

https://x.com/dynastyrich/status/2066693118586507298?s=43

https://x.com/jakobsanderson/status/2066693321138012273?s=43

I think... If you had your draft already, you could keep it as simple as: FAAB, if you have that. Or some more complex situations are on the table for discussion.

If you have had your DRD already and then you do priority order for free agents then having some kind of ‘everyone gets a shot’ system makes some sense. Mirroring the NFL...where you give up a 2027 pick for making this pick in some kind of blind bid/round system makes a lot of sense.

If you haven’t had the DRD, then he is in the pool and it’s game on.

-- HEADLINE: The Denver Post’s Luca Evans reports RJ Harvey underwent surgery this offseason to repair a torn labrum he suffered in the AFC Championship Game loss to the Patriots. This one certainly slipped through the cracks. Harvey reportedly “hasn’t done much team work in OTAs but has been practicing,” according to Evans.

Another injury player situation to investigate. My list of players to research who had some serious things to deal with/surgeries they had is growing beyond just trying to research than every day or two. I might have to do two-a-days ahead to get them in before July training camps.

-- HEADLINE: ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports Patriots EDGE Gabe Jacas is dealing with multiple injuries. Jacas is the only second-round pick from the 2026 NFL Draft who remains unsigned. The former Illinois pass-rusher was dealing with a hamstring injury throughout the draft process, and according to Reiss, NFL teams that evaluated Jacas during the pre-draft process discovered a torn labrum and a stress fracture. The injury that reportedly caused him to miss OTAs and minicamp was a knee procedure.

2026 may end up being a redshirt year. We have taken his IDP 2026 and Dynasty valuations down hard.

-- Broncos signed WR Hakeem Butler.

Good for Hakeem. The ‘next Calvin Johnson’ hasn’t really worked in the NFL. Tried to move to TE for a bit, but that didn’t work.

Here’s what he’s been up to in the UFL: https://youtu.be/HK7bN5Pr350?si=FEDwBNObnHR9t2OI

I can give you the scouting update if you’d rather...

Pretty good athlete.

Nice height/range.

== QUOTES & QUOTABLES (pulled from an internet A.I. search, I try to make sure it’s accurate but some of it is ‘trust in AI’) ==

-- Luca Evans of the Denver Post reports that, before JK Dobbins worked out a new two-year contract with the Broncos, he had a deal that was essentially “done” with the Jaguars.

-- It’s still early, but the question does arise: What’s the difference between Klint Kubiak the offensive coordinator, and Klint Kubiak the head coach? To get the best answer, the player who knows him the best in Las Vegas’ locker room helped fill in the blanks.

I may have to tread lightly with the answer,” quarterback Kirk Cousins joked with local reporters after mandatory minicamp on June 9 (h/t ESPN’s Ryan McFadden). “He’s been great. Football matters to him. There’s an intensity there, there’s an attention to detail, there’s an urgency that I’ve sensed from him as a head coach that I think is good for our football team.

But it does cause me, when I’m driving into work in the morning, I’m kind of like ‘I feel it. I’d better be on today’. I check my watch four times to make sure I’m on time or early because I just feel like he brings that sense of urgency that the great coaches tend to bring, right? And it’s certainly not a laid-back atmosphere, I’ll just say that, and I think that’s a positive, but I think that comes with being a head coach.

You feel that weight as a head coach, and it’s not an easy position to sit in. It can be lonely at the top, and I think he has to make sure that we’re running a tight ship and that we’re a great operation. We all feel that urgency pre-practice in the locker room, and I think that can be a healthy thing. …It’s not a picnic; we are not just out here having fun. It is work. …Guys are really focused, going over their stuff two or three times because they don’t want to be the guy who made the mental errors. I think that’s a really positive thing, but it’s not a country club.”

-- The Athletic’s Ted Nguyen recently picked Colston Loveland as one of the 10 most versatile players in the NFL while talking about his “elite” potential.

The era of the tight end is upon us. Even blocking tight ends are getting paid, and a slew of them got drafted in the second and third rounds of this year’s draft. However, there are a select few who are good to elite at both blocking and receiving. For a while, George Kittle was the only tight end truly elite at both. Colston Loveland is poised to take that title. Maybe it’s still too early to pass that mantle to Loveland, but Kittle is 32 and coming off an Achilles injury in an NFC wild-card game. As hard as Kittle works and takes care of his body, it’s fair to question how quickly he returns to form.

Loveland, the No. 10 pick in 2025, is just 22, improved into a good blocker by the end of the season and became the focal point of an explosive passing game. Loveland is a dynamic and crafty route runner and built a strong rapport with QB Caleb Williams. Last season, Kittle led the league for tight ends in yards per route run (2.18). Loveland finished second (1.86) but — as with most rookie tight ends — had a slow start. In his final six games, Loveland averaged 2.42 yards per route run. With more experience and Williams entering his second year in Ben Johnson’s offense, Loveland could well be the most productive receiving tight end in the league and be even better as a blocker.

-- Eric Dickerson, a Hall of Fame running back and the NFL's record holder for rushing yards in a season, recently said that, while he would love to see Donald and Garrett wreak havoc on opposing offenses together, he doesn't think it is necessary for Donald to come out of retirement.

"Stay retired," Dickerson told TMZ Sports when asked.

FYI: He was credited with 33 reps on the bench at his Pro Day, officially, which if you then put that into an ‘analytics’ algorithm for OTs, like we do, we get screwed with false data on the ‘just the metrics’/analytic side of things.

This is also why athletes should skip the Combine and go to their own Pro Day...to cheat, to game the system...to get help to get drafted higher, to be an example to high schoolers to wanna go to OSU, for those players to donate back to the school with all their NFL $$$.

If the NFL is this dumb, if Pro Days are so unregulated/wide open...then you can’t expect players and team reps to try and take advantage of the opportunity. Millions of dollars are on the line.

If I were an agent I would not let my athlete do ANYTHING at the Combine. I would only let them do their Pro Day, if they were a big school athlete that will get favorable treatment on the 40-time, the bench, the everything. Big school prospects are fools for doing the Combine if they are anywhere near considered a top 50-100 prospect.

45.83% = Detroit Lions (#1)

=====================

6/15 MON

(8:14amET)

Today/tomorrow

-- A new/special ‘Top 10 Players for FF 2026’ series of reports from Ross Jacobs wraps tonightET.

The debut/#10 is open to all subscribers...#1-9 will be for the Draft Guide package of reports only, as the drive to redraft 2026 is upon us.

--------------------------

NEW DISCORD NOTIFICATION SYSTEM/INVITE:  FFM Discord Notification System

This is not a chat room. It is a one-way channel for FFM notifications about newly posted items and critical breaking news.

This Week’s/Month’s Agenda…

 -- 2026 Draft Guide studies.

-- DRD rankings will now update rankings and add/update commentaries, etc., every THU or FRI for the rest of the preseason.

 == NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==

-- HEADLINE: Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles referred to Kenneth Gainwell as the team’s 1B running back. Reports from mid-May indicated that the Buccaneers might use a running back committee, including Gainwell and incumbent RBs Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker.

I have said it all offseason...something doesn’t feel right about this backfield from a Bucky Irving perspective. Could be a much bigger distribution of workload this season. Gone (in 2026) are all the incessant Bucky love letters and poems from the coaches, replaced by a lot of Kenneth Gainwell respect statements and ‘he’s like Bucky’ comforting/subliminal messages.

The Buccaneers usually wear their heart on their sleeves when they're talking about the RB situations. I ignored the warning signs for Rachaad White in 2024 because it never made any sense to me why they would throw him overboard and so fall in love with Bucky Irving who hadn't even played in NFL snap yet (at the time)...and I wound up the fool; they were basically telegraphing what they flet/meant. Then 2025, year 2 of Bucky...it was all Bucky talk. But this offseason it's very tame and nice about Bucky and very reverent Gainwell. Not that Bucky won't be the lead RB but he's likely to share a lot of duties with Gainwell and Tucker.

-- HEADLINE: Jets’ HC Aaron Glenn said he’s planning to use Breece Hall, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis as a “three-headed monster” this season.

As a coach, I think you have to say this...or you should. Why tell all the employees in the offseason that only one guy matters and the rest don’t. It’s technically a three-headed monster if Breece Hall gets 90% of the touches and the other two get 5%.

By a stretching of the definition, most every backfield is at least a two-headed monster...and many are three-headed monsters. The Ravens 2025 were a three-headed monster with Henry running a lot, Justice Hill taking a ton of 3rd-down work, then Keaton Mitchell popping up and taking relief work and 3rd-down work too. But did that really hurt Derrick Henry?

They didn’t pay Breece Hall all that money to do an equal three-way split. That’s silly. The headline/isolated quote is positioned to make you think it’s like an ‘anyone could be the lead at any moment’. I’ll buy Breece discounted from any goof that buys into this.

-- HEADLINE: Sports Illustrated’s John Shipley reports Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. “is the leader in the clubhouse to be the offseason program’s MVP.” Shipley names an MVP at the end of each offseason cycle. Last year, WR Parker Washington took home the honor, and while Washington “has been really good again” this year, as has QB Trevor Lawrence, Thomas’ showing at mandatory minicamp puts him in the lead.

This is a continuation of the theme that I wrote about yesterday about this WR group. When this particular RotoBlurb hit--all the BTJ fanboys went bananas and the ‘paper hands’ Parker Washington people who don't even know why they took an interest in him besides seeing his name in RotoBlurbs a bunch...now they're ready to fold fast in fear of the great and powerful BTJ.

Who cares about this ‘metric’ if half these guys got given up on by their teams/coaches for ever being ‘the guy’? Great, you lead a list ahead of Elijah Mitchell and Tyler Allgeier.

This stat/metric, as are most in football for RBs, are totally meaningless...warped by one big run or warped by the offense/O-Line or coach or O-C that the rookie drew.

If you were offered Ashton Jeanty (not on this list) for any of these RBs, you would take Jeanty in a trade straight up for any of them. You’d likely take Jeanty for any two on this list.

== QUOTES & QUOTABLES (pulled from an internet A.I. search, I try to make sure it’s accurate but some of it is ‘trust in AI’) ==

-- Sports Illustrated’s John Shipley reports that Jaguars RB Chris Rodriguezthe running game’s hammer,” but the team’s starter has not yet been determined. Shipley notes that the Commanders allowed Rodriguez to enter free agency for a reason. Although he is “an expert at getting downhill and breaking tackles,” his passing down abilities remain “underdeveloped.”

-- (PFT) In the never ending modern news cycle, the things that don’t happen often don’t get noticed. Case in point — the Seahawks haven’t, and apparently won’t be, visiting the White House in recognition of their win in Super Bowl LX.

There has been no announcement, by the team or by the White House. But with the offseason program over and the players scattered until training camp opens, the natural window has closed on the team from Seattle, Washington to go to Washington, D.C..

-- (YAHOO) “There is no shortage of viable candidates here given that the 2023 draft delivered an excellent crop of cornerbacks, all of whom became eligible for extensions this spring,” Barnwell wrote. “They’re collectively playing a waiting game with one another here, given that the first player to sign might set the market for the others to top.”

Barnwell went on to identify Joey Porter as one of four defensive backs capable of commanding a market-setting contract.

“Between Porter, Christian Gonzalez of the Patriots, DJ Turner II of the Bengals and Devon Witherspoon of the Seahawks, there are four corners who could credibly command market-setting deals from the 2023 class alone,” Barnwell added.

(REPRINT from Yesterday) *NEW EPISODE DROPS TODAY*

-- We are excited to announce a brand-new video project: Two Scouts Talking.

We’ve quietly released our first three episodes to make sure everything was dialed in, and now we are ready to take it public. This is a separate YouTube channel strictly dedicated to one concept: two scouts putting a player/s under the microscope and debating the tape.

The idea sparked when Ross and I were doing a livestream for Day 2 of the NFL Draft. There is something incredibly valuable about bouncing live, unscripted scouting information off a colleague who does the same heavy lifting in the field.

Here is how the show works: We pick a player to scout. We take a few days to grind the tape completely independently. We do not discuss what we are seeing. Then, we hit record and reveal our findings to each other in real-time. We have no idea what the other person is going to say, and the fireworks go from there.

Sometimes we are looking at incoming draft prospects. Sometimes we are doing a deep-dive recheck on existing players. I have already found three major revelations just by isolating these players from Week 1 to their final game, and it has already changed my projections/outlooks somewhat radically. With these videos, you get to see that journey of discovery, the debates, and the exact moments where our evaluations clash.

There are no scripts and no pre-planned talking points. We just start shooting, and the conversation weaves wherever the tape dictates.

We purposely made this a public channel so the videos are easily accessible and searchable and findable for your research in the future. We’re not revealing our Fantasy projections on the player as a focus, more just trying to assess ‘how good’ they are and who they compare to, etc. We’d love for you to subscribe so you get notified when we drop a new 15-to-30-minute episode, which will happen randomly a few times a week.

If you enjoy an episode, dropping a "thumbs up" on the video is a huge help to the channel. But you will not hear me annoyingly begging for likes and subscribes during the show. There are no intro songs and no small talk about how our day was. We jump right into the topic and get after it. It is strictly scouting business.

The first three episodes are out:

#1: Is Jeremiah Smith Radically Overvalued?

https://youtu.be/On8daR80-Fo?si=47D44J3BKJZD9wK7

We look at his scouting and try to properly value him for the 2027 DRD...and whether or not people should sell the farm for a chance at him.

#2: How Good is Brendan Sorsby?

https://youtu.be/x2c70UL1WVk?si=s5Rg_lDn1Vrg8xU_

We look at him as if he were in the 2026 NFL Draft and 2026 DRD, along with just raw scouting his work.

#3: Scouting Bhayshul Tuten vs. Chris Rodriguez

https://youtu.be/Iy_qO-lUfl8?si=4EsZVfNLHRZiVtCj

This was my first real shocking moment of our studies/topics in the first three...where I saw something I had not before. I think you’ll enjoy my journey on this one.
