Random news from this week and my commentary on items I think are FF interesting...

-- Breece Hall is very likely a Jet for at least another year, possibly longer.

The Jets have a ton of money to spend for free agency but likely no good free agent in their right mind will want to play here, so faced with that and the lack of general talent otherwise...they may make Breece Hall a highly paid running back, so much so that he has to take the deal, even though he hates this franchise and coaching staff...but he can try to muddle through/wait out this staff until they get fired in the next 8-10 months.

I do not believe Breece wants to be here with this group, but big running back deals don't come around often so he may be good taking the deal now, if they offer him a big extension, and then he can just look to change teams later in his career. He’d be wise to take the money NOW.

Breece as a Jet in 2026 is unHOLY. We don’t know who their QB will be...their coaching staff is a disaster...little good can come from being a Jet for FF 2026.

 -- Malik Nabers rehab video...

Many of the severely injured from 2025 are making great progress in rehab to be back in-time for season start 2026. The old timelines for injuries are worthless. We’re in a new era that is evolving, improving faster than charts and graphs of the past 5-10-15 years can keep up with or be relevant on.

I think Tyreek Hill may make a shocking, ahead-of-schedule return from a wicked injury and maybe that will start changing the narratives on surgery recovery timelines. Remember how fast Nick Chubb returned from his crazy injury?

People think Chubb ‘as never been the same’...but you have to consider he made his comeback with the Brownd then Texans...arguably the two worst offensive lines in the NFL the past two years.

-- Speaking of 2025 injuries, here’s good news on Tucker Kraft...

He might be a reasonable ‘buy low-ish’ right now for those interested in taking a gamble.

-- Jordyn Tyson won’t do the Combine, which is smart.

https://x.com/dpbrugler/status/2026117609867903315

The injury list on Tyson seems to be never ending. At max. health he’s the best WR in the draft, most likely...but he’s not SO much better than the field that you ignore his vast injury history and take him top 15 and pay him a ton of money when there are a lot of alternatives who are really good in the 3rd-5th-rounds.

BUT...some team will make the mistake...but if Tyson never ever gets hurt again, they will earn the last laugh. He’d be off my board as a GM...knowing he’s going 1st-round. He’d be a good fit for a team that thinks they’re close and just hopes Tyson is instant impact for 2026 and they’ll worry about his long-term effect later.

-- What John Lynch is talking about...

I can buy all that, except RB.

2026 is like the last ‘run it back’ season with this core 49er group that got close but never finished the race. The easiest thing to do at RB, for them in 2026, is not to over invest in the position...just bring Brian Robinson back. He was terrific in his relief spots. RBs grow on trees now. Don’t overthink it...keep continuity with BRob and Jordan James and maybe Isaac Guerendo.

If SF makes a major move for a free agent RB, because the market is ‘cheap’ so they land a Rachaad White or something like that -- it signals they know CMC’s time is ending, and they know it/fear it.
