2025 Season Awards Tournament: OPOY, OROY, DPOY, COY (AFC WEST)
Each year, I go division by division and nominate who I believe is each team’s candidate for the major NFL awards and then we discuss/declare who the division’s major award winner is for the season…and that player goes onto the divisional Final Four with a chance to go to the Super Bowl/Finals for a chance to be declared my seasonal award winner.
We go division-by-division each day, then to the Final Four for each conference, then the finals to name our winner the day the NFL announces their winners. *And my choices are usually different up and down the line in each category, so enjoy a different take on the NFL awards.
*Coach of the Year (any coach on the staff, not just the head coach)

AFC WEST: 2025 Season Awards Tournament: Offensive Player of the Year
DEN: QB Bo Nix, DEN
KC: QB Patrick Mahomes, KC
LAC: QB Justin Herbert, LAC
LV: RB Ashton Jeanty, LV
Nix was OK. Mahomes was OK, then hurt. Jeanty WAS the LV offense...defenses geared up to stop him...more than Bowers, and Bowers missed several games too hurting his chances here, but I almost gave it to him anyway.
Justin Herbert is the obvious winner...for overcoming that horrifically injured O-Line. When he had a decent O-Line, he was one of the top 3 MVP candidates.

DEN: RB RJ Harvey, DEN
KC: OT Josh Simmons, KC
LAC: RB Omarion Hampton, LAC
LV: RB Ashton Jeanty, LV
Simmons missed too many games...as did Hampton. Harvey had some numbers, but Jeanty was way more important to a bad offense.

DEN: CB Pat Surtain, DEN
KC: CB Jaylen Watson, KC
LAC: CB Donte Jackson, LAC
LV: EDGE Maxx Crosby, LV
I so want to give this Donte Jackson...what a great coverage season. QBs only completed 44% of their passes thrown at him. But Pat Surtain was also great and only gave up 1 TD pass. I give it to Surtain by a hair.

LAC: HC John Harbaugh, LAC
LV: HC Pete Carroll, LV
Not Andy Reid.
The Denver defense fell down, so no Joseph.
It’s between the very good Harbaugh season and the absolutely epically horrible Pete Carroll job...I mean, Pete Carroll was SO BAD...doesn’t he deserve an award for it?
No.
Don’t encourage me.
