We're looking at free agency ahead of the official FA start period (March 12th, kinda officially…but things are happening all week+ prior), going position by position to discuss some of the big names, tour top ranked guys, as well as the sleepers and frauds of the group…and we'll make some throwaway/dart throw predictions on landing spots.

Today's position group: TE

The consensus top three TEs available…

1) Juwan Johnson, NO

2) Mike Gesicki, CIN

3) Zach Ertz, WAS

FFM’s Top Three TEs Available...

1) Juwan Johnson, NO

The most dynamic athlete available at the position and still a manageable 29 years old, but he's struggled to stay healthy throughout his career. If you want to take a big swing at the position and hope you can keep him on the field, Johnson is the obvious choice, but personally I would be quite nervous about handing a decent sized contract to a TE approaching 30 with a history of foot and ankle issues.

2025 FA PREDICTION: The easy choice is rejoining Sean Payton in Denver

2) Tyler Conklin, NYJ

An underrated, high-floor player that could be a nice stopgap on a 2 or 3 year deal for not too much money. You might be able to get him for cheaper than comparable players like Gesicki and Hooper because he's coming from the Jets where everything might be tainted by the widespread hatred of Aaron Rodgers

2025 FA PREDICTION: Follows Robert Saleh to the 49ers.

3) Mike Gesicki, CIN

His best days are behind him, but Gesicki is still an effective starter when he's used as a power play out of the slot. Get him the ball short and let him run for a few extra yards. It's not flashy but it works.

2025 FA PREDICTION: Back to Cincinnati on a short deal. He's not getting much better offers to leave and working with Burrow is as good as it gets

The fraud TE of free agency 2025: Zach Ertz, WAS

He's got name value, but he'll turn 35 next year, his athleticism is nearly gone as evidenced by his YPR dipping more every year, and he just had his first healthy season since 2021 while piling up respectable numbers as the de facto #2 option for rookie sensation Jayden Daniels. You're not getting that kind of production anywhere else, and he'll command similar money to the other available options if not more because of his name.

2025 FA PREDICTION: Back to Washington on a 1-year deal. I can't see anyone else giving him anything more at his age

The best value TE in free agency 2025: Tommy Tremble, CAR

Tremble will be just 25 years old next year, is a hellacious blocker, and maybe someone could unlock a little more from him in the passing game. He'll cost next to nothing.

2025 FA PREDICTION: He's a perfect fit for what Jim Harbaugh wants to do with the Chargers

The deep sleeper TE in free agency 2025: Irv Smith, HOU

It feels like Smith has been bouncing around the league forever, but he'll still be just 27 next year and if he can stay healthy he might still have a little Jonnu/Jordan Reed in him.

2025 FA PREDICTION: Heads to CLE to reunite with Stefanski, his old OC from Minnesota
