11pmET+ Update: Adam Schefter tweeted that White is playing and (his words) 'Is Fine'
8pmET+ Update: Word is Rachaad is expected to play Sunday, which is good news because it's not 'give it a go' or 'further tests' or 'game time decision'...at this point, from what we're told. Hopefully, it was really much to do about nothing and TB was just being extra cautious on reporting after the trouble Cincy got themselves into with hiding Burrow Saturday injuries.
5pmET+ Update: So, teams announce their practice squad call ups for Sunday (if any) on Saturday afternoons. The Bucs elevated a WR and DL...not any RBs, and this is taken as a positive sign by the football analysts that Rachaad must be OK. I don't believe this just yet.
The Bucs are one of the rare NFL teams who have FOUR RBs rostered every week. If Rachaad can't go, they still have three to work. There would be no need for them to call one up to get back to four active...especially true if this White injury is anything they're really worried about long term/multiple weeks. If just this week (or nothing at all) then just going with the other three guys for Week 12 is fine.
I'm still in a holding pattern on this waiting to get good inside info ahead of the crowd or when everyone else does.
------------
Around 10amET, news hit of Rachaad White being moved to 'Questionable' for Week 12 with a knee injury. That's all anyone knows right now.
We don't know if this is minor, but they are being cautious to report so there's no controversy...it's a big deal to not report or underreport an injury, so teams usually are overcautious.
If this were major, from a practice, it would've been on the Friday report. So, it has to be something he woke up with or tweaked on a morning work out or slipped in the shower -- we don't know.
If White is out for any reason, I would assume Chase Edmonds (2.1 ypc this season) would start with Sean Tucker (1.5 ypc) relief and Ke'Shawn Vaughn (1.8 ypc) would also chime in looking for a hot hand. Rachaad cannot make hay in this running game, and he's awesome...the others aren't going to come in and go-off. Also, Rachaad is special, not circumstantial, in the passing game...so the other RBs wont just pop in and catch 7 passes for 50+ yards and make great attempts at long TDs off of them.
TB RBs are doomed if they get in the game...that's what makes Rachaad so special is: he's an RB1 in one of the worst RB situations there are this side of Breece Hall and Derrick Henry.
I'm trying to find out what's up with the severity on White's issue and will notify once I get something concrete.
