-- Stash Report update and one other item, as I avoid the high prices and log jams at places Saturday and do my V-Day meals and things today.
This Week’s Agenda…
Holy series ‘QBs 1.0’ will publish week of 2/16. RB or WR position group look next.
Working on the next full scouting reports...as I start to knock more of the full reports down now.
Senior Bowl Preview Scouting Reports continue with the few I have left to edit/publish...but we now turn to Combine preview reports as well, as we set sail for that mega important event.
Any FFM News & Notes or Special Reports during the day as I get them.
My Jacksonville daily diary at the very end for me recording this journey for future reading/memory and sharing how things are going with everyone.
New coaching staff hire’s analysis series...going through the entire staffs...I am working on the framework of how I want to present that. This will be a first ever series (for me) where I go beyond ‘just the new head coaches’. ETA in March.
The next early/pre-Combine positional grades and rankings board is underway and 1-2-3 of them will be out this week. The TE group 1.0 posted yesterday.
== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- HEADLINE: NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports that the Jaguars “plan to play” Travis Hunter as a full-time cornerback and part-time wide receiver in 2026.
I really don’t think the Jaguars’ new coaching regime from 2025 has any idea what they are doing with WRs.
Let us look at the facts from their first year in command...
Spent kinda big on Dyami Brown, 1-yr/$10M, and were really gonna take him to the next level...by the end of the season Dyami was a healthy scratch.
They were gonna build the whole offense around Brian Thomas Jr., and they tried, and BTJ had his worst season in years going back to college. He looked wildly uncomfortable in his role every time I watched him in 2025.
Traded a lot of draft capital to draft Travis Hunter to be the X-factor WR, the eventual slot WR, among the starting trio. He played like he was ‘lost’ every week of the season...then got hurt...then was ruled out for the season.
At the same time Thomas-Hunter-Brown were tapped the starters off-the-bat, their best WR (Parker Washington) was sitting right in front of their face the entire training camp, preseason, and again once he was forced a chance in the regular season. They did not start Washington in a game until Week 4, and only when everything was falling apart with the WRs and Washington played so well off the bench in Weeks 2-3. Three weeks after that he would get his next start. Week 10 he became a full starter...because everyone else was out/hurt or failing.
Then the Jags traded hot for Jakobi Meyers...and instantly forced him everything as a #1 and he looked good, so Washington was then downplayed working with Meyers...and then Washington no longer a starter by Week 15, after their bye. Meanwhile, Jakobi was handed a giant contract extension for his terrific 3-4 games.
Jacksonville used their bye week focused on Jakobi and BTJ, and re-benching Washington and cutting back his snaps and not getting him more integrated during the extra week (bye week). The Jags were winning every week, so they couldn’t be questioned.
As soon as Jakobi got his stolen money bag from JAX management, he immediately fell off. As Brian Thomas continued to flounder. Parker Washington, once again, raced in OFF THE BENCH, to save the day. Week 16 he crushed Denver 6-145-1/10. He was so good Week 16 that he started again (finally) Week 17 and went for 8-115-0/10...while Jakobi and BTJ watched with their thumbs up their arses.
Washington topped it off with a 5-87-1/9 Week 18. Then Washington went for 7-107-1/12 in their playoff game as the great Jakobi-Thomas connection combined for 3-33-1/6.
Every Jacksonville WR they intended to roll with played some of their worst football of their careers. The one guy that was so obviously their best WR (kinda like a Michael Wilson situation)...they did all they could to get him on the bench and away from snaps and targets so as not to disrupt Thomas-Meyers-Tim Patrick. Eventually, they had no choice but to run with Parker.
So, when the Jags announce Hunter is going to CB full time and WR part-time...I don’t think that is a win moment for Jacksonville management. Hunter could be a great WR prospect with some coaching/experience...but will he get that from this WR-blind staff? Hell, no! Now, I have to look to see if they retained their WR coach or fired his ass.
NOPE...still there.
Edgar Bennett is still the Jags WR coach after that stellar 2025 performance. Oh...yes...it’s THAT Edgar Bennett...7-years in the league NFL RUNNING BACK. What a better background to be a WR coach than this history...
Edgar Bennett NFL Playing History
- 1992–1997: Green Bay Packers (Running Back)
- 1998–1999: Chicago Bears (Running Back)
Edgar Bennett NFL Coaching & Front Office History
- 2001–2004: Green Bay Packers (Director of Player Development)
- 2005–2010: Green Bay Packers (Running Backs Coach)
- 2011–2014: Green Bay Packers (Wide Receivers Coach)
- 2015–2017: Green Bay Packers (Offensive Coordinator)
- 2018–2024: Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders (Wide Receivers Coach)
- 2025–Present: Jacksonville Jaguars (Wide Receivers Coach)
Note...he didn’t start coaching WRs until 2011. He levered that to being an O-C for GB...where they had one good statistical season and two of the worst offensive years for the Packers under Mike McCarthy.
On to the Raiders, where the WRs failed mostly...even if they had a good year, there was no follow up on the homegrown drafted talent. His top credit for his time with the Raiders...a guy they drafted and had some success = Hunter Renfrow’s one good season. I’m pretty sure Renfrow and Jon Gruden are more to ‘blame’ for that.
The guy (Bennett) is like a ‘curse’ on WRs.
Please stay away from my precious Parker Washington. Go coach Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter into the ground.
And for the folks who are now saying/gloating, ‘I never thought Hunter was a good WR’...ahh, you don’t know if he is or isn’t from 6+ games under this absolute wrecking ball coaching staff on WRs.
There is a real problem here for the Jags WRs. And there isn’t any (coaching) change happening to provide hope for 2026 either.
-- At one time the #3 QB prospect in this draft, but not anymore...
It feels like college football and pro football are in a race to see which one can shoot its own feet off first.
To me, the NFL has ‘problems’ but they are not lethal (yet) and easily fixable.
College Football looks like a Chernobyl event trying to destroy itself. Do they have any centralized and/or good management or do they just have an 11-year-old running things? Really it is the money-teams running things, so it seems.
So too, the quest for more and more money.
I cannot wait for that field of 64 playoff that CFB will eventually go to, I assume. Every seasonal record is about to be destroyed when the title teams have like 21-4 records, with most teams working 20-25 game seasons.

Today’s look: New England
(other notes)
-- The Pats are #10 in available CAP space at the time of this writing, and there are several contracts they can ditch to gain more space/money...Stefon Diggs chief among them.
We might see Diggs and Hunter Henry get cut here.
The Patriots are in really good shape for free agency overall. They could end up top 5 on CAP space if they get hard core with some of their cuttable contracts.

-- RC Daily JAX Diary...
(same intro every day)
At the very end of RC’s NOTES, for the next 50-60 days...I will share my little diary of my time in Jacksonville (for those who don’t know) getting radiation treatment for my battle with prostate cancer that I am winning -- I am figuratively off to a big 1st-quarter lead and looking strong into the 2nd-quarter of this football game analogy/cancer battle...but just like the Packers-Bears playoff game...it’s not over ‘til it’s over/we got a ways to go.
I am keeping these daily notes so that I might look back over time at this odd, unplanned event in my life. 40 straight weekdays of radiation scheduled, weekends off, unknown side effects ahead...some short-term, with a somewhat scary risk of long-term effects. It’s gonna be a wild ride.
I’m trying to treat this like a vacation, of sorts. Some people save up for a special trip to Hawaii or a European excursion...I could care less about those things. 2/14/26, Day 22 in JAX
14 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
3 weeks down, 5 more to go.
Nothing radical to update my diary today on the medical side.
Biggest event to remember for me: We took the dog to a new walking trail/park neat the hotel...really nice...got lost and our 1+ mile planned walk turned into 3+ miles of circles until we found our way back.
My daily food diary...
Day 22 food spend = First Watch breakfast $25. Leftovers lunch. Raising Canes Dinner, which someone sent us a giftcard for.
$25 spend for the day.
22-day total food spend = $492...$22.43 per day average...we’re trying to get back in the $20 per day game...this Valentine’s weekend could be trouble.

-- HEADLINE: Seahawks blocked the Raiders’ request to interview run game specialist and assistant OL coach Justin Outten for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
You won’t love Outten’s bio...to be an O-C...I know I didn’t.
He got his big break in 2022 to be the Broncos O-C...one of the authors of that complete and utter trainwreck with Nate Hackett in Russ Wilson’s first season in Denver.
Went to be a run game coordinator in 2023 for the Titans/Mike Vrabel...coordinating the Derrick Henry collapse that people thought was King Henry being ‘too old’. That aged well.
Shifted to TE coach for Brian Callahan...somehow stayed on in Tennessee but reduced his role.
At this point, I’m not impressed with anything on Outten...and no one seems to like him all that much...no big promotions of late, and Vrabel didn’t grab him for NE when he easily could have.
He was a run game specialist for Klint Kubiak in 2025, which was more Kubiak’s brains and Outten likely just a guy helping blow the whistle, not really creating.
Outten is from the Matt LaFleur tree mostly (2019-2021 TE coach), so that’s a bad sign as well.
Kubiak would want Outten to take orders and do things for him in Las Vegas, not be the real O-C...Kubiak is the real O-C. But Seattle is blocking it for some reason, possibly to make him O-C? I have faith John Schneider would intervene...but also Seattle is running out of time and candidates to fill jobs late in this cycle.

The GEMINI bio/history I ran, FYI...
Justin Outten | Coaching Profile
Current Role: Run Game Specialist / Assistant Offensive Line Coach, Seattle Seahawks
Personal Bio
Justin Outten is a Doylestown, Pennsylvania native who has built a reputation as a teacher-first coach in the NFL. He earned his degree in Childhood Family Studies from Syracuse University, where he was a standout center and a three-year letter winner. As a senior in 2006, he served as a team captain, showcasing the leadership traits that would later define his coaching career.
Before breaking into the professional ranks, Outten spent eight years as a special education teacher and assistant head coach at Westfield High School in Houston, Texas. This unique background in special education is a cornerstone of his coaching identity; he often emphasizes the importance of understanding different learning styles to effectively reach every player in his room. He is known for his high-energy "juice" on the practice field and a blue-collar work ethic.
Offensive Style & Philosophy
Outten is a prominent disciple of the wide-zone blocking scheme, having worked closely under coaches like Kyle Shanahan, Matt LaFleur, and Nathaniel Hackett.
- The Marriage of Run and Pass: Outten believes the offense must be a "mirrored image." He designs run plays and play-action passes to look identical for the first few steps, forcing defenders to hesitate.
- Ball Security First: His "Win the Ball" mantra is non-negotiable. He preaches that turnover margin is the primary indicator of success and drills technical ball-carrying security across all position groups.
- Outside Zone Foundation: He specializes in teaching the reach blocks and horizontal displacement required for a successful outside zone attack, which allows running backs to find "cutback lanes" based on defensive over-pursuit.
- Adaptable Communication: Leveraging his teaching background, Outten uses diverse visual and tactile coaching methods to ensure offensive linemen and tight ends understand the "why" behind every protection and gap assignment.
Coaching History & Timeline
- 2025–Present: Seattle Seahawks
- Role: Run Game Specialist / Assistant Offensive Line Coach
- Note: Key contributor to the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX championship staff under Mike Macdonald.
- 2024: Tennessee Titans
- Role: Tight Ends Coach
- 2023: Tennessee Titans
- Role: Run Game Coordinator / Running Backs Coach
- Note: Orchestrated a ground game that saw Derrick Henry finish 2nd in the NFL in rushing yards (1,167).
- 2022: Denver Broncos
- Role: Offensive Coordinator
- Note: Served as the primary play-caller for the final two games of the season, leading the offense to its highest-scoring outputs of the year (24 and 31 points).
- 2019–2021: Green Bay Packers
- Role: Tight Ends Coach
- Note: Developed Robert Tonyan into a premier scoring threat; Tonyan recorded 11 touchdowns in 2020, leading all NFL tight ends that year.
- 2016–2018: Atlanta Falcons
- Role: Offensive Assistant / Coaching Intern
- Note: Assisted an offense that reached Super Bowl LI and featured one of the most prolific scoring attacks in league history.
- 2008–2015: Westfield High School (TX)
- Role: Assistant Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line Coach
- 2007: Syracuse University
- Role: Graduate Assistant
Notable Achievements
- Super Bowl Champion: Super Bowl LX (Seattle Seahawks).
- NFC Champion: Super Bowl LI (Atlanta Falcons).
- Pro Bowl Mentor: Coached Robert Tonyan (Green Bay) and Derrick Henry (Tennessee) to career-best statistical seasons.
- Leadership: Former Syracuse Team Captain (2006).
-- HEADLINE: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Seahawks will interview Cardinals pass game specialist Connor Senger for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Two things about this headline come to mind...
1) Jonathan Gannon must be a great ‘hirer’ of offensive coaches because teams have raided his group for promotions for two years, especially this year with Gannon getting fired.
2) I’m a fan of Senger. This would be a really smart ‘get’. John Schneider would be ahead of the league here, once again.
---------------------
The GEMINI bio/history I ran on Senger, FYI...
Connor Senger is a prominent "riser" in the NFL coaching ranks, currently serving as the Pass Game Specialist for the Arizona Cardinals. Known for his technical expertise in passing structures and his rapid development of quarterbacks, he has become a frequent candidate for coordinator and position-lead roles across the league as of early 2026.
Coaching Career & History
Senger’s path is notable for its speed, moving from Division III coaching to the NFL in just five years. He began his coaching career in 2017 at his alma mater, UW-Oshkosh, where he served as the Quarterbacks Coach. During that debut season, he mentored Brett Kasper, who won the Gagliardi Trophy (the D-III equivalent of the Heisman).
He continued building his resume in the Wisconsin college circuit, coaching quarterbacks at Carroll University in 2018 and running backs at UW-Whitewater in 2019, where he helped the team reach the national championship game. In 2020, he moved to the FCS level with powerhouse North Dakota State, serving as the Offensive Quality Control Coordinator for two seasons and contributing to the Bison's 2021 National Championship win.
Senger entered the NFL in 2022 through the Bill Bidwill Coaching Fellowship with the Arizona Cardinals. Since then, he has earned a promotion every single year:
- 2023: Offensive Quality Control Coach
- 2024: Assistant Quarterbacks Coach
- 2025–Present: Pass Game Specialist / Passing Game Coordinator
The Coaching Tree & Mentors
Senger is a product of the Jonathan Gannon / Drew Petzing tree in Arizona, which emphasizes modern, adaptable offensive schemes often tailored to mobile quarterbacks like Kyler Murray. His philosophy is also heavily influenced by the "Bison Way" at North Dakota State under Matt Entz, a program famous for its physical efficiency and dominant run-pass balance.
Earlier in his career, he worked under veteran D-III coaches like Pat Cerroni (UW-Oshkosh) and Kevin Bullis (UW-Whitewater), which grounded his coaching style in fundamental development and high-volume offensive production.
Playing Background
A native of West Allis, Wisconsin, Senger was a standout dual-threat quarterback at Pius XI High School in Milwaukee, where he was a three-year captain and accounted for 76 total touchdowns. He began his college career as a walk-on at the University of Wisconsin (2013–2014), where he was named the Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons. He later transferred to UW-Oshkosh, leading them to two conference titles and a national runner-up finish as a player.
Recent Buzz (February 2026)
Senger is currently one of the most sought-after young names for offensive vacancies. While he remains under contract with Arizona, he has recently interviewed for the Offensive Coordinator position with the Seattle Seahawks and was a finalist for the same role with the Chicago Bears before they promoted Press Taylor. He also drew significant interest from the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, and Philadelphia Eagles for their Quarterbacks Coach openings.

Today’s look: Minnesota
(other notes)
-- 30th in available CAP right now...way in the hole. They need to make some maneuvers. Can they?
There are definitely contracts they can chop and save CAP money -- RT Brian O’Neill, Jonathan Greenard, Javon Hargrave, TJ Hockenson, Aaron Jones, Ryan Kelly...most of the names I just typed...a minimum of 3 of them have to be cut...very likely 4 and maybe 5...possibly all 6...and all six are NFL starters.
-- Jalen Nailor is a free agent...they likely want to bring him back, but that likely means that Jordan Addison has to go (given CAP issues, and Addison issues). If they let Nailor go to free agency thinking they can re-sign him cheap...they may be in for a surprise that some bad team that can’t attract the big names doesn’t swoop in and overpay him a little.
Minnesota has gone from a model, looked-up-to, dominant franchise (last year) to utter chaos (with coaches leaving or being fired this year) faster than we’ve seen from a team in years.

2/13/26, Day 20 in JAX
14 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
3 weeks down, 5 more to go.
Nothing radical to update my diary today on the medical side. Normal day. This day will be known for...my wife arrived at 6:30pm. We went out to quick-eat dinner at Five Guys at 7pm. Went to get some groceries nearby at 7:30. By 8pm, I was very sick and needed to go home.
I don’t know if it was just the radiation more getting to me, or our fear...’germs’...germs she may have brought that she took all the precaution she could on to not bring. Suddenly (this morning) I am half sick feeling...coughing, dizzy, tired. When my body tries to fight anything now, it is very ineffective and sends me into a tailspin of living like I’m seasick constantly. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!
My daily food diary...
Day 20 food spend = Hotel breakfast. DQ two for $5 Chili Dogs (this likely didn’t help the cause). Five Guys dinner $30.
$35 spend for the day.

-- Today’s/This Week’s Agenda…
Working on the next full scouting reports...as I start to knock more of the full reports down now.
Senior Bowl Preview Scouting Reports continue with the few I have left to edit/publish...but we now turn to Combine preview reports as well, as we set sail for that mega important event.
Any FFM News & Notes or Special Reports during the day as I get them.
My Jacksonville daily diary at the very end for me recording this journey for future reading/memory and sharing how things are going with everyone.
Holy series ‘QBs 1.0’ is about 3/4ths done...it will publish ASAP.
New coaching staff hire’s analysis series...going through the entire staffs...I am working on the framework of how I want to present that. This will be a first ever series (for me) where I go beyond ‘just the new head coaches’. ETA in March.
== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- 2026 Tight End-a-pooloza today...
My full scouting report look at consensus #1 ranked TE prospect Kenyon Sadiq.
And later today, my initial presentation of a test of a new system built with the help of A.I. to speed the baseline scouting up and to turn out early positional grades in our computer scouting models faster. I tested it with the TE prospects...and I’m now up to like 35+ TEs early estimated/projected in their different categories and overall. You’ll see them ranked and graded in various ways later today.
-- HEADLINE: Derek Carr said he is willing to unretire if given the opportunity to join a team that has a “chance to win a Super Bowl.”
This rubbed me the wrong way, but maybe I just took it the wrong way...
Five years ago, if a QB like this wanted to come out of retirement it would be a somewhat interesting story and fun offseason speculation. But in 2026, who gives a $#!%?
The arrogance...the audacity that Derek Carr thinks he’s special and will grace us with his presence IF a team has a chance to win the Super Bowl and bow down before him. I think he mispronounced ‘I’ll return for money and being relevant again...and hopefully a cheap dive in/coattail ride to win a title’.
Dude, you were an ‘OK’ QB for a decade...11 seasons, one playoff game. Who the hell do you think you are? There are all kinds of veteran QBs just like you available...and the young QBs available are all now better trained for this era than you.
I hope you sign with the Jets.
If he said he wanted to come back because he loves the game and wants to see how he can help a franchise in any capacity...great. But that ‘chance to win a Super Bowl’ line...implying he’d waltz out of retirement to start, not be a backup, and only with certain teams (cough, Minnesota, cough)...is the way I take it, and it rubbed me the wrong way...from a very nice human being that I know Carr to be.
And I don’t even know the full context of his statement, but I really just meant to say -- unless he wants to be a Jimmy Garoppolo 2025 type QB ($5M for holding a clipboard), there’s no place for him to be a starter unless Cleveland, Miami, or the Jets get desperate. Act humble for a second...you’re no special prince that can bless us with your presence if ‘moved’. The NFL moved on from you a while ago, and then you left it.
-- HEADLINE: Cardinals hired Vikings assistant wide receivers coach Tony Sorrentino as their wide receivers coach. Sorrentino spent the past four seasons with the Vikings, spending four seasons as the assistant wide receivers coach.
Another Vikings coach jumps ship. It’s stunning the coaches that left or got fired from Minnesota...or half+ easily are all gone. Brian Flores is back but spent the first part of the cycle trying to leave.
What is going on in Minnesota? We’ll look at the entire chain of events with this staff and all the others in the weeks to come.
-- HEADLINE: Raiders hired Mike McCoy as their new assistant head coach.
2017: Klint Kubiak was an offensive assistant for Denver, where Mike McCoy was their new O-C after being fired by the Chargers as HC, driving that team into the dirt with still-in-prime Rivers-Gates-and young Keenan Allen. McCoy was fired midseason 2017, in that first season with Denver...didn’t make it through one season. That was the end of the NFL media push of Mike McCoy as the young genius offensive coach of the NFL.
But McCoy did have some redemption this past season by getting the Titans stabilized and improved as an interim-HC. Probably a good advisor for first-time HC Kubiak.
When McVay or Shanahan or Ben Johnson or Dan Campbell or Mike McDaniel or Jim Harbaugh, for some examples) speak at a press conference or in an interview...you can feel a presence, a confidence, detail (when they want to), and a lot of directness.
When I see Klint Kubiak, and who he is the clone of (his Dad), or Mike McCoy speak all I see/hear is: https://youtu.be/3AA7Ub1c2cI?si=klc9o957rWucISsi
-- See this seismic shift that happened, and has been happening...
https://x.com/aakashgupta/status/2021450372766904564?s=43
The NFL better be careful...a lot of entertainment juggernaut businesses have been quietly/not-so-quietly started to fade/slide...and most of it is the businesses own doing.
When the iconic brands go so ‘corporate’ trying to wring every last penny out of everything to get stock options to be paid out to CEOs and others, and to pursue the growth of revenue at all cost and logic -- they usually do so by turning their backs on their base customers who built the business...the hungry monoliths snub their noses at their base in pursuit of ‘international’, assuming that the base will eat whatever slop they give them because they are ‘not going anywhere’. Only to find out, the base gets tired of being taken advantage of and they do start considering a ‘break’ and if it goes on long enough, there’s no way to turn back once the corporation hits a lethal slide.
There is still time for the NFL to ‘right the ship’, but they are ‘on the clock’ (and probably don’t think they are). They are playing with fire/not serving or seeking to improve things for their base.
This attached (X post above) is an example of how fast DraftKings and FanDuel got disrupted.
I was listening to something yesterday about how WWE (pro wrestling) can’t sell seats to this year’s WrestleMania (their Super Bowl) in Las Vegas. WWE has a multi-fold issue...
1) Las Vegas tourism is WAY down. What used to be one of the chief destinations in the U.S. is a shell of itself.
2) WWE was white hot a few years ago, then they got bought out by a big corporation (TKO) and started getting ‘corporatized’...the original founder was out, the business run by people not familiar with running a wrestling organization, ticket prices went way up, quality of the product has shot down, they’ve moved the weekly shows from always on cable for a quarter of a decade to now their flagship Monday Night show (Raw) is on Netflix and PPVs that were accessible cheap (for the fans) on Peacock to have moved to a very expensive and complicated or lesser fan experience ESPN streaming service.
Fans are rejecting the ticket prices, and are uninterested in Las Vegas more than ever, and they hate the ESPN partnership, and now they are turning away from the product in general. Their last big PPV event (Royal Rumble) used to be a January staple on a Saturday and/or Sunday night in late January, the week before the Super Bowl...but this year they sold out to Saudi Arabia to have Royal Rumble there for them, which meant a 2pm start in the U.S. Viewership of major events are sinking in the U.S. -- Internationally, it’s growing.
The WWE and NFL parallels should not go unnoticed.
WWE has raised special event/venue prices out of this world...to where it’s just for the wealthy. So has the Super Bowl/NFL.
WWE has started desperately, greedily (because that’s what corporations are built to do) seeking international fandom because they’re tapped out in the U.S., thus they are slowly (then rapidly) turning their back on their U.S. base in pursuit of new revenue. So is the NFL.
WWE sold their very good App/online PPV platform to a so-so Peacock then to now a cluttered, confusing, ad-filled, lesser control for the viewer ESPN platform. The NFL has made their own digital services worse every year...and now they’ve sold their entire ‘NFL Media’ to...wait for it...ESPN.
ESPN is owned by Disney.
Disney has royally F’d up every golden franchise it has acquired lately...from LucasFilms/Star Wars...now it’s destroying the WWE base...and now it is newly in charge of NFL Media. Geez, I wonder if they’ll improve NFL Media, increasing accessibility/offerings and ease of use while reducing the cost to consumers...or will they destroy it with complex access, less choice/control, and more ads to further frustrate their base?
The NFL is not in trouble today...but they sure are setting a foundation for trouble down the line. There’s still time to course-correct, but I don’t have a lot of faith in Roger Goodell.
The Golden Goose always gets killed eventually...by their new management and/or by more nimble, better competition.
What the NFL does for the next Super Bowl halftime show plan will tell you a lot about whether Roger Goodell has his ear to the ground or whether he is a stooge. The Super Bowl should not be ground zero for the political culture civil war...I don’t think they intended to be, but in trying to seek new international fans they got off-brand and they inadvertently made their marquee game/product irrelevant by allowing the entertainment industry to try to leech off it. Roger’s on the clock. The owner’s that control him are on the clock. The international growth siren call probably owns those clocks...
DraftKings is on the ropes. The Star Wars franchise is on life support. Disney entertainment is a near full scale disaster (and now a new, sorely needed CEO). Las Vegas is falling. The WWE fell in the trap and is fading. Five years ago, all those things ruled their markets. Bad management and competition happens fast. The NFL better watch out.

The first one is insane when you consider current day, the 2nd one will confuse...then the transition to #3 from #2 is a JOLT:

(*same intro every day) A new daily segment that will take us up to near the beginning of free agency. I’ll go team-by-team, alphabetically, and list the key players who have contracts that are begging or almost assuredly are gonna get them cut. I’m going to list more of the FF ones of interest, but I will list any interesting IDPs or OLs.
We’re looking at players who...
*Still have some life/name appeal but are late/last year into their contracts and they will either make an excessive amount of money in 2026 or would only cost a minor hit to just outright cut them.
*I will also include guys who are not logical, contractually to cut, but they are hated and expensive and getting cut.
*Some of these guys might work out a new/reasonable deal before getting released, but I want to show the explosion of guys that might hit the market...and there is already a surge of talent in natural free agency, especially at RB...which is gonna turn FF upside down when all these guys have nowhere to go and sign cheap in places that will FF-piss us off.
We’ll list by position, and I’ll put in order of most likely in-demand after getting cut. We’ll build the list daily. You and I might be shocked by the time we complete this exercise...

Today’s look: Miami
(other notes)
-- The Dolphins were supposed to be on this CAP magic trick where they were cutting players and moving money around and trying to get to a power position in a year or two. Well, it ain’t this year...they are currently underwater on CAP and #28th in space overall. And cutting Tua isn’t saving really any space at all because his contract is so ridiculous.
There are some contracts to cut/move to save them money...
Tyreek Hill is going, one way or the other...trade or cut. They’ll save money over the next 2 years doing that.
Minkah Fitzpatrick could save some money, but they probably restructure his deal to keep him because Jeff Hafley is a defensive player ‘simp’.
Still, their cuts of players to get back some CAP space -- it won’t be enough to get them in a good spending position for 2026.
Darren Waller and Rasul Douglas are key free agents very likely leaving...and maybe Greg Dulcich too.
QB:
Joe Flacco (free agent)
Geno Smith ($26.5M to pay, $18M hit to release)
Kyler Murray ($47M post-June 1st hit, and $7M hit in 2027)
Malik Willis (free agent)
Kirk Cousins? ($24.6M pay or cut for $25M hit post-June 1st)...wouldn’t be surprised if he retires either.
RB:
Javonte Williams (free agent, but I highly assume Dallas will sign him long-term)
Rico Dowdle (free agent)
David Montgomery? ($8.4M pay to play 2026 or cut for $4.9M hit, split in half on a past-June 1st cut)

I saved for a rainy day for my protection...and, well... https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxLdSXQWUapDe0CcQznO8Kuqzht631AnEz?si=MqnycTkzVD5mzPnF
(end of intro)
2/12/26, Day 20 in JAX
13 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
Just about 3 weeks down, 5 more to go.
My message to my family this morning on all my latest test results:
------------------------------
2/12 Update from Jacksonville:
Bloodwork results…
PSA is down to 0.07!!
We started at 18 then went up to 21 when we first started and we’re now under the 0.10 mark, which ups my percentages to be cancer free in 1-2 years up to 90-95% now based on my latest results.
Most all the blood work was good but some of my white blood cells are going down considerably, which is to be expected during radiation, but it’s opening me up to being immune compromised/can get sick easily if I come in contact with any germs like that because my defense systems are way down. And then a slow fight back by my system if I do get sick.
The doctor told me to just be sure to try to reduce germ contact, avoid anyone who is sick, and expect to keep getting tired because the good blood cells that I do have are also reducing and getting worn out trying to fight all the radiation and everything else going on
Overall, I feel fine, just ever increasingly more tired and needing more sleep. But it’s manageable.
Thank you everybody for your continued prayers. We are definitely winning the fight big time.
Five more weeks to go here! Pray for the germs to stay away.
But I must say Jacksonville is lovely. I’m ready to be home but I would not hate moving here someday!!
----------------------
My weird thought of this day: So...I’m kinda getting in the range of more likely from dying of the flu in the next week or two than I am from this prostate cancer taking me? If I die of the flu after beating cancer, I’m gonna be pissed.
My daily food diary...
Day 20 food spend = Hotel breakfast. Five Guys lunch. Leftovers for dinner.
$17 spend for the day.
Seriously!!! $17 for a hot dog + little fries + soda? I mean, it was fantastic -- I do love the taste/flavor of their hot dogs, but $8 for a hot dog? I tried to make it up in peanuts consumed and drinks...which I love those red machines where you have 100 different soda options. Peach Fanta Zero with a splash of Pineapple Fanta Zero is beautiful, but I can not buy that soda in a can, etc., anywhere. Someday that company will produce that in 12-pack can form!
20-day total food spend = $432...$21.60 per day average...we’re trying to get back in the $20 per day game...this Valentine’s weekend could be trouble...and a grocery run may need to happen.

== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
Apparently, yesterday was a day where teams decided to scrape the bottom of the barrel to fill their open jobs with some of the worst offensive minds/managers of the past few years/decade.
-- HEADLINE: Dolphins hired Eagles coach Kevin Patullo as their pass game coordinator.
So, they hire this disaster (Patullo) AND previously promoted Bobby Slowick (of the C.J. Stroud and Tua Tagovailoa demises) to be their O-C...after hiring the dreadful Nathaniel Hackett to be a QB coach, but only to see him get snatched by Arizona to be their O-C.
If you follow the trail out of Green Bay/anyone related to or associated with Matt LaFleur...Saleh, brother Mike, Nate Hackett, the Jeff Hafley slow motion trainwreck undergoing in Miami -- the Matt LaFleur tree is yielding rotten fruit.
Remember when EVERY Bill Belichick lieutenant was a joke as head coaches and as assistants in most places during his peak? You can be a good coach and hire bad assistants and still not prepare your decent assistants for promotions. A lot of assistant coaches for top head coaches are lackeys and friends and are not cut out to be the ‘thinkers’ or ‘creators’, they are better at following orders. Most all, or all, Matt LaFleur guys have been failures the more promotion and independence they’re given.
-- HEADLINE: Panthers hired former Dolphins quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell as the team’s associate head coach.
Oh no...Dave, come on man. I wish I could’ve run into you at church and talked you out of this. Dave...you had such hope. Maybe this won’t have much of an impact, but...
The franchise and offensive grim reaper (Bevell) has arrived to Carolina. This will really help Bryce Young...and it’s not good for any upside for Tet and Coker the longer they stick by Bryce. Tet could’ve had 50%+ better numbers this season if they had Jacoby Brissett at QB, among others.
-- HEADLINE: Packers named former Raiders offensive coordinator Luke Getsy as the team’s quarterbacks coach.
Matt LaFleur has the reverse of the Midas touch.
I see one kinda recent success (moved on)...and that coach was low level for GB and left LaFleur and avoided his ‘tree’ for his next spot...
Look at this mess that GEMINI is spinning to being something proud:
GEMINI: who are coaches from the Matt LaFleur tree...guys he hired in Green Bay and that have left, where have they gone/who are they?
ANSWER: While Matt LaFleur is often viewed as a branch of the Sean McVay/Kyle Shanahan tree, his own "Green Bay tree" has grown significantly since he took over in 2019. In the alternate 2026 coaching landscape, his reach has extended even further with recent moves following the 2025 season.
The primary "graduates" who were hired by LaFleur in Green Bay and moved on to significant roles include:
The Head Coaches
- Nathaniel Hackett: LaFleur’s first major "loss." Hackett served as the Packers' Offensive Coordinator (2019–2021) before being hired as the Head Coach of the Denver Broncos. After his stint there and a stop with the Jets, recent reports place him as the Offensive Coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals under Matt's brother, Mike LaFleur.
- Jeff Hafley: Initially hired by LaFleur as Defensive Coordinator in 2024 (coming from Boston College), Hafley spent two seasons in Green Bay before being hired as the Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins following the 2025 season.
The Coordinators (Offense)
- Luke Getsy: Originally hired by LaFleur as QBs Coach/Passing Game Coordinator (2019–2021). He left to become the Offensive Coordinator for the Chicago Bears and later the Las Vegas Raiders. Notably, after being fired by the Raiders in 2024, he returned to Green Bay as a Senior Assistant and has recently been promoted back to Packers QBs Coach for the 2026 season.
- Sean Mannion: Hired by LaFleur as an Offensive Assistant and then QBs Coach (2024–2025). He recently left (January 2026) to become the Offensive Coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles.
- Justin Outten: Served as the Tight Ends Coach (2019–2021) under LaFleur before following Nathaniel Hackett to Denver to serve as the Offensive Coordinator.
The Coordinators (Defense & Special Teams)
- Anthony Campanile: Hired by LaFleur in 2024 as the Linebackers Coach. He parlayed one successful season in Green Bay into becoming the Defensive Coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025.
- Joe Barry: Served as LaFleur's Defensive Coordinator (2021–2023). After being let go by Green Bay, he resurfaced in Miami, eventually joining Jeff Hafley's staff with the Dolphins in 2026.
- Mike Pettine: The holdover DC from the McCarthy era whom LaFleur retained (2019–2020). After leaving Green Bay, he spent time as a Senior Defensive Assistant with the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.
- Maurice Drayton: Promoted by LaFleur to Special Teams Coordinator (2021). After his dismissal, he moved to the college ranks, eventually becoming the Assistant Head Coach/Special Teams Coordinator at The Citadel.
Key Potential Departures
- Adam Stenavich: Currently the Offensive Coordinator. While he is still in Green Bay as of February 2026, he has been a hot name for OC vacancies with play-calling duties (specifically linked to the Seattle Seahawks) and even head coaching interviews.
-- HEADLINE: Giants hired former Titans head coach Brian Callahan as the team’s quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.
Maybe he’ll just be Brian Daboll’s lackey? This doesn’t help anything for the Titans...but Daboll, like the LaFleur’s and onto the LaFleur tree in Miami -- they all don’t have young, vibrant up-and-coming coaches to tap/who wants to be on their staff...so they’re stuck fighting over recycled retread lifers/hangers on.
Sad.
It may be a bit of a ‘win’ for Daboll/Ward as I bet Daboll had to fight off Saleh wanting him to hire Hackett or another LaFleur or Bevell or any of the other LaFleur rotten fruit.
If Cam Ward succeeds in 2026, which he probably will no matter who the coaches are...Daboll is gonna ride that success and get the hell out of there in 2027. Saleh will be thrilled about it so then he can hire more of his BFF (Matt LaFleur) to fill the O-C job.

Today’s look: LA Rams
(other notes)
-- Top 10 CAP space available right now. They might have 1-2 players to cut to add more money/space, but they have A LOT of players that are gonna get in line for money this offseason...whether a free agent now (Dotson), or a year away but they want new deals now like Stafford, Puka, and Byron Young all will want a new/better deal and not play a lame duck/contract season.
If they lose Dotson...we’ve got problems developing with the Rams 2026.

I saved for a rainy day for my protection...and, well... https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxLdSXQWUapDe0CcQznO8Kuqzht631AnEz?si=MqnycTkzVD5mzPnF
(end of intro)
2/11/26, Day 19 in JAX
12 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
Two weeks down, 6 more to go.
Got some bloodwork results back -- all the major categories look good overall, except one of the white blood cell count things was off the charts in the bad way -- they are disappearing from my body. And several other key blood numbers are declining. But it’s not dire...it’s expected.
The doctor said that the radiation beams are literally killing some cells as it penetrates through me. And the radiation being put in my body is killing more off who can’t fight this new invader. I’m not totally immune compromised, but I’m headed that way for a spell.
I don’t like that because I am not used to being the ‘wearing a mask guy’ or ‘washing my hands constantly guy’ or opening doors with my elbows and operating faucets with my feet -- but I may be headed that way as my body gets more and more at risk of sickness/illness or infections or parasites.
Wonderful.
Other than that, everything else checked out fine. The doctor continues to think I’m a model patience with the bladder of the gods.
My daily food diary...
Day 19 food spend = Hotel breakfast. Chipotle lunch. Leftovers for dinner.
$11 spend for the day.
19-day total food spend = $415...$21.84 per day average...we’re trying to get back in the $20 per day game...this Valentine’s weekend could be trouble...and a grocery run may need to happen.

-- Today’s/This Week’s Agenda…
Working on the next full scouting reports... One of the high rated WRs is on deck...as well as a wild card guy is on the next-up that I stumbled across, we’ll see if he is worthy of a deep study...and more names as I start to knock more of the full reports down now.
Senior Bowl Preview Scouting Reports continue with the few I have left to edit/publish...but we now turn to Combine preview reports as well, as we set sail for that mega important event.
Next Senior Bowl practice notes/report throughout the week as I get some better cut up tape to work with...Senior Bowl game itself report after the final practice reports. No need to rush these things.
Any FFM News & Notes or Special Reports during the day as I get them.
My Jacksonville daily diary at the very end for me recording this journey for future reading/memory and sharing how things are going with everyone.
Holy series ‘QBs 1.0’ is about 3/4ths done...it will publish post-Super Bowl week.
New coaching staff hire’s analysis series...going through the entire staffs...I am working on the framework of how I want to present that. This will be a first ever series (for me) where I go beyond ‘just the new head coaches’.
== NEWS & NOTES & Xs ==
-- I watched the Klint Kubiak intro press conference...and my judgement was = it was as dull as the Super Bowl, probably more dull...and with no halftime show to spark a soft Civil War in our great nation.
There were no salacious moments. Kubiak is super lowkey...seemed like he was half asleep, but in an acceptable way. He was not rattled by the day. He has prepared for this. Been around the game for a while. He was just trying to get through this without spilling any beans or making any gaffes. Seems like a good dude. Had the inner satisfaction and confidence and validation of just having won the Super Bowl.
He did not make any mistakes or focus in on any players, per se...he is pretty excited about Brock Bowers...he woke up for that one when the media asked Kubiak about him.
I have 3 notes to share from this event, none to do with Kubiak...
1) The Raiders press facilities look awesome. The Cardinals press conference I watched the other day seemed like it was like a startup Sunday church set up in a school that the ragtag church uses for Sundays. While the Raiders had huge, brand new-looking, wide theater chairs for everyone to sit in...it might have been a Raiders player meeting room, but they used it for this -- and it looked highly professional, advanced, and awesome. That facility is gorgeous all around.
2) All the press asked was reshaped questions of the same kind...why did you pick the Raiders, what did you like about the Raiders, why do you wanna coach the Raiders, isn’t it going to be great to coach the Raiders, don’t you love having the first pick, isn’t it cool to work with Tom Brady what was meeting him like?
Riveting.
The Raiders local media all live in some alternative universe where they still think they are a top NFL franchise like the 1970s or something...or whenever it was that they were last relevant.
3) So, when the Q&A was over -- that’s usually when the new coach and GM and maybe the owner take a media picture together to wrap things up. This one was super weird...it was the new coach and the GM...and like ten former Raiders all up there like they own the place. And because they are big humans/football players...Kubiak looked like a wayward child who snuck into the group photo. Those former players had no business being up there for that photo initially...if they wanted to do that after the traditional intro presser end photo, fine I guess. Those same Raiders cling to the Raiders, likely because Mark Davis makes it worth their while...so, they do the dog and pony show for him. I get it. I would too.
Not pictured or seen...Tom Brady. Too busy to be a part of these things, I guess. While 8-10 living Raiders legends were there. Jim Plunkett had nothing else going on I bet.
Kubiak is being handed a dream scenario...#1 pick, huge CAP space, dome stadium, gorgeous facilities, no state tax -- the Raiders should dominate that division. Maybe they will now. Let’s see who Kubiak gets for assistants.
-- Two headlines related to the Patriots/Super Bowl...
HEADLINE: Patriots LT Will Campbell said he played through a torn knee ligament this season.
HEADLINE: Drake Maye said his shoulder injury was “significant” headed into the Super Bowl.
Wait, what? I can buy both these things given how they looked in the game, and Campbell’s downfall late season...maybe. I mean, neither was on the injury reports for the Super Bowl. Was it that bad...is it an excuse...or do the Patriots need to lose draft picks for lying on the injury reports?
I guess it doesn’t matter now?
Maye is taking a lot of hits on social media for his Super Bowl, which is what the internet does, but he’s still holding the #2 spot in Dynasty ADP. It’s not affecting his real value.
I guess the Super Bowl is another 50/50 game where the difference between the teams is in-game injuries or bizarre penalty calls...or, I guess in this case, pre-game injuries going in?
No one will care or remember in a week.

AND I’m gonna keep it on here at the end of this daily report every day to have it as a reminder to get through the next few days/weeks.
I know you want to storm the castle and make 152 trades right now.
BE PATIENT!!!!! Still, too many unknowns in the NFL right now to act in a lot of cases, on the big things/thoughts. Staffs are still being hired, etc.
-- A loaded and bloated free agency class leads to my new daily segment...
(intro end)
---------------------------------
Today’s look: LA Chargers
(other notes)
-- Wow, LAC is sitting #4 in CAP space available as of this writing. And they have more money to pick up cutting Mekhi Becton $12.2M to play, $2.5M cost to cut) and a few lower-level player opportunities to make more space.
The best team in the NFL, when healthy, has top 5 CAP space available too? Yikes...for the rest of the NFL in 2026.
The top 3, currently in CAP space...TEN-LV-NYJ...as it usually is, the ‘bad’ teams. The rebuild teams.
#4 = LAC.
Do you know who #5 is? It’s Seattle.
-- An interesting free agent group that they might all let go away except for one...
Likely gone: Khalil Mack (unless he comes back cheaper), Najee Harris, Keenan Allen, Odafe Oweh.
Zion Johnson they probably make a nice deal with.
Travis Etienne (free agent)
Najee Harris (free agent)
James Conner ($10.3M keep, $2.3M cut post-June 1st)
Kareem Hunt (free agent)
Nick Chubb (free agent)
Jerome Ford (free agent)
Justice Hill (3.9M keep for 1-yr or cut for $667k)...enjoy New York.
Joe Mixon ($10M pay to play 2026, or $2M hit to cut)...can he ever play again anyway?
WR:
George Pickens (free agent, but I can’t imagine Dallas lets him go to FA)
Michael Pittman or Alec Pierce
Christian Watson (free agent...but doubtful GB lets him go)
Romeo Doubs (free agent)
Curtis Samuel ($8M pay for 2026, cut for $3.5M)
Christian Kirk (free agent)
Keenan Allen (free agent)
Marquise Brown (free agent)
TE:
Kyle Pitts (free agent)
Isaiah Likely (free agent)
Evan Engram? ($14M pay for 2026 or cut for $10M hit, which they can maneuver with a post-June 1st cut)
David Njoku (free agent)
Mike Gesicki ($7.7M pay or cut for $4.3M)
Tommy Tremble ($8M pay for 2026 or cut for $2.2M hit post-June 1st)

2/10/26, Day 18 in JAX
11 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
Two weeks down, 6 more to go.
A quiet day today, thankfully.
The only notable things were...
1) I had my blood/labs done...I await to see how the PSA numbers look. They are already super low going into this, they’re just checking to make sure nothing strange is happening with the PSA or anything else...especially my heart and liver, on the meds. More so they are checking all the other parts of my body now with all the turmoil that is getting thrust upon it.
2) I took my dog to a local groomer this day, which can be an ordeal because she is so jumpy getting her nails done -- but there’s a really nice groomer place right around the corner, with good Google ratings, so I took a chance...and my girl did so good! I was thrilled. I may have to drive her every quarter to get her nails done here for the rest of my life...or just move here, which I would do in a heartbeat. I am growing to love Jacksonville more and more.
My daily food diary...
Day 18 food spend = Hotel breakfast. Leftovers for lunch. Leftovers for dinner.
The first $0 total meal day!!
18-day total food spend = $404...$22.44 per day average...we’re trying to get back in the $20 per day game...this Valentine’s weekend could be trouble.
I may have to make an executive decision that Valentine’s Day is exempt from the normal food budget...it is more of a gift. I’ll take it to the board...and discuss with my dog on our next walk.

-- HEADLINE: Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak confirmed he will be taking the Raiders’ head coaching job.
A ton of CAP space...the #1 pick overall. You could not ask for much of a better situation for a new head coach to step into.
Kubiak ran rings around Josh McDaniels (the 2025 Assistant Coach of the Year, everybody...not Kubiak) in the Super Bowl.
I’m looking forward to breaking down his opening intro press conference...and seeing how he puts his staff together, which won’t be that easy this late in the process...but he’s coached many places the past few years -- he has a ton of connections on great young coaches.

- University of Kansas (2015): Wide Receivers Coach
- Texas A&M University (2012): Graduate Assistant / Inside Wide Receivers Coach
- Texas A&M University (2010–2011): Offensive Quality Control Coach
-- HEADLINE: David Njoku announced on Instagram that he will not return to the Browns in 2026
...in ‘who cares’ news.
Look for Njoku to head to Atlanta, to rejoin Kevin Stefanski...maybe...and to possibly replace a ‘letting go’ of Kyle Pitts.
-- HEADLINE: Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports “there will be a push this offseason to extend the NFL trade limits from three years of draft picks to five.”
I get the concept, but I have no idea why this was a critical item. Who was clamoring for this?
All the GMs in this league, spare 2-3-4 of them are completely frightened to make any trades as it is.
In a business structure that has 32 management regimes and turns the staff over among it ranks by a factor of 20-30% each year...why give a high turnover industry opportunity to more sell a team’s future for the now of current employment/desperation, since they know they’ll never see the future...most likely.
This was a big need to do and announce post-Super Bowl...this is the big issue you’re tackling out of the gates? Wow, how exciting...how transformative.

Today’s look: Las Vegas
(other notes)
-- Let’s see what Klint Kubiak is inheriting...
Las Vegas is currently #2 in CAP space available at the moment. Kubiak gets the #1 pick and possibly the #1 CAP availability by free agency start. Nice gig.
LV could fairly EASILY (an $18M hit) cut Geno and absorb that into their huge space available. If Kubiak is smart, he will ditch Geno and bring in a mentor-like #2 QB for Mendoza. Maybe his doppelganger Kirk Cousins?
If they move Maxx Crosby, which they should, then cutting Geno makes sense as well. They need to totally gut this team and remake it.
QB:
Joe Flacco (free agent)
Geno Smith ($26.5M to pay, $18M hit to release)
Kyler Murray ($47M post-June 1st hit, and $7M hit in 2027)

2/09/26, Day 17 in JAX
10 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
Two weeks down, 6 more to go.
Monday 2/9 starts week #3 of radiation and will be known in my diary as -- the sweet morning I spent with my son...taking him to the Cancer Center with me to show him my routine and show off the facility. And he was quite impressed with how quiet and friendly and peaceful it was. Monday morning, back to the grind at MD Anderson...and you could’ve heard a pin drop in that place/waiting area. Not many people even waiting around because they are so efficient and well-staffed.
The weather also got back to ‘Florida’...and today even better...77 degrees.
My daily food diary...
Day 17 food spend = Hotel breakfast. $10 Steak-N-Shake lunch. Leftovers for dinner.
$10 total
17-day total food spend = $404...$23.76 per day average...this family visit weekend did end up tough on my budget, but back on track today -- oh, no...Valentine’s this weekend, and my wife is back in town! The budget is in trouble!
I may have to make an executive decision that Valentine’s Day is exempt from the normal food budget...it is more of a gift. I’ll take it to the board...and discuss with my dog on our next walk.

New coaching staff hire’s analysis series...going through the entire staffs...I am working on the framework of how I want to present that. This will be a first ever series (for me) where I go beyond ‘just the new head coaches’.
== SUPER BOWL FIRST REACTION ==
-- I’m going to do/work on my Super Bowl extravaganza game report all day, which will have some more details on all things/thoughts, and that will be out later today, but first reactions to some things...
It was over before it started: https://x.com/wingoz/status/2020644352394145886?s=43
-- The feeling I get from most people even without me asking for it...people were bored by this Super Bowl. From all angles. Casual fans weren’t into it. Serious fans weren’t into it. This may be a problem more than THEY think. I’ll get into it in more detail on the big game report.
I just overheard so many ‘the game was dull’ passing by people in my hotel or on the elevator unprompted...it was weird.
https://x.com/nflmemes/status/2020675520816468151?s=43
https://x.com/akafaceus/status/2020689606648504333?s=43
-- Once again, a game is determined by the #1 thing in football...offensive line.
Seattle sacks in games before the Super Bowl:
1 = v. LAR (NFC title game)
2 = v. SF
3 = v. SF
2 = v. CAR
0 = v. LAR https://x.com/fdsportsbook/status/2020694344056164368?s=43
1 = v. IND https://x.com/barstoolsports/status/2020685540451074117?s=43
Then 6 sacks, officially, here.
All those games listed before the Super Bowl...the low sack totals -- Seattle won them all.
This game seemed more about...
The Seattle O-Line development down the stretch and into/through the playoffs...and the Patriots O-Line getting exposed, as it has this whole playoff.
It’s more about Klint Kubiak, who Seattle will very much miss when he leaves...but he leaves behind a nice O-Line structure.
Klint Kubiak is better at his job than Josh McDaniels. https://x.com/stuckey2/status/2020652947588436168?s=43
Seattle’s defense was great, but this is more about the Patriots ultimately, finally being exposed as a fraud representative in this game.
https://x.com/holdencantor/status/2020657294573441150?s=43
-- I think about how often we were we railing, last draft season, on the fact that the Patriots were making a massive mistake with Will Campbell as a draft pick, and for putting him at tackle, and for NE and then entire NFL for not drafting Grey Zabel as the #1 offensive lineman?
The drafting of Campbell by NE, and the steal of the draft by SEA with Zabel much later in the 1st-round -- it may have been the event that determined this Super Bowl.
FFM scouting is still ‘batting’ for a high average in the scouting game. I’d say the highest.
-- A month+ ago, FF owners were like...man, I hope Kenneth Walker lands well in free agency because Seattle definitely likes Zach Charbonnet better and Seattle would be dumb to put any money into an RB they don’t seem to love or need all that much.
TODAY = FF owners are like...wow, Kenneth Walker may be the best RB in the NFL, give him all the monies!
Whatever people/the masses ‘just saw’ (or think they saw) is what they think is ‘fact’ for the rest of time, so there are three unquestionable truths that come from this game for the unwashed masses based on the ‘what I just saw’ principal...and they will be unchecked thoughts now for the next 6+ months without any new games to divert attention:
1) Kenneth Walker is the best RB in football.
2) Drake Maye was really never that good...he’s an NFL hype creation. https://x.com/danfetes/status/2020691494190125355?s=43
3) Christian Gonzalez is the best CB in the NFL...because they saw him have 2-3 really nice passes defended.
-- OK, enough for this morning. We’ll get into more topics, and deeper, more player talk, Bad Bunny analysis, the commercials...all that on the mega game report later today.
-- Dynasty Owners...
Make sure you’ve read this message: https://ffmetrics.com/total-football-advisor/6341-2026-conference-playoff-week-daily-news-and-comments-stream-mon-charbonnet-dynasty-kcs-new-o-c-nightmare
AND I’m gonna keep it on here at the end of this daily report every day to have it as a reminder to get through the next 2-3 weeks.
I know you want to storm the castle and make 152 trades right now.
BE PATIENT!!!!! Too many unknowns in the NFL right now to act in a lot of cases, on the big things/thoughts.
-- A loaded and bloated free agency class leads to my new daily segment...
(intro end)
---------------------------------
Today’s look: Kansas City
(other notes)
-- KC is WAYYY over the cap in the early phases...#32/32 teams in CAP space at -$57M. Work to do.
And free agent Travis Kelce will likely return and will want $$$$.
I see $40-50M in CAP to cut and take smaller hits on...Jawaan Taylor getting cut is like a $20M savings alone.
Kareem Hunt and Marquise Brown are free agents added to our list.
QB:
Joe Flacco (free agent)
Kyler Murray ($47M post-June 1st hit, and $7M hit in 2027)
Kirk Cousins? ($24.6M pay or cut for $25M hit post-June 1st)
Malik Willis (free agent)
RB:
Javonte Williams (free agent, but I highly assume Dallas will sign him long-term)
Rico Dowdle (free agent)
David Montgomery? ($8.4M pay to play 2026 or cut for $4.9M hit, split in half on a past-June 1st cut)
Travis Etienne (free agent)
James Conner ($10.3M keep, $2.3M cut post-June 1st)
Kareem Hunt (free agent)
Nick Chubb (free agent)
Jerome Ford (free agent)
Justice Hill (3.9M keep for 1-yr or cut for $667k)...enjoy New York.
Joe Mixon ($10M pay to play 2026, or $2M hit to cut)...can he ever play again anyway?
WR:
George Pickens (free agent, but I can’t imagine Dallas lets him go to FA)
Michael Pittman or Alec Pierce
Christian Watson (free agent...but doubtful GB lets him go)
Romeo Doubs (free agent)
Curtis Samuel ($8M pay for 2026, cut for $3.5M)
Christian Kirk (free agent)
Marquise Brown (free agent)
TE:
Kyle Pitts (free agent)
Isaiah Likely (free agent)
Evan Engram? ($14M pay for 2026 or cut for $10M hit, which they can maneuver with a post-June 1st cut)
David Njoku (free agent)
Mike Gesicki ($7.7M pay or cut for $4.3M)
Tommy Tremble ($8M pay for 2026 or cut for $2.2M hit post-June 1st)
Other:
OL Braden Smith (free agent)
EDGE Trey Hendrickson (free agent)
CB Greg Newsome (free agent)

I saved for a rainy day for my protection...and, well... https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxLdSXQWUapDe0CcQznO8Kuqzht631AnEz?si=MqnycTkzVD5mzPnF
(end of intro)
2/08/26, Day 16 in JAX
9 of 39 radiation treatments done so far. No radiation on weekends.
Two weeks down, 6 more to go.
A simple note for my diary...
I got to spend the day and watch the game with my son...life doesn’t get any better than that...unless both my sons could’ve been here.
I had a blast with him watching the paint dry bowl.
My daily food diary...
Day 16 food spend = Hotel breakfast. $15 Mod Pizza lunch. $15 Five Guys dinner (just counting my cost, not my sons). $30 total
16-day total food spend = $394...$24.63 per day average...this weekend did end up tough on my budget.
