10/26 SUN

 (8:19amET)

 -- Today’s Agenda...

YEAH! No International early game today...but they’re back at it again next week.

Sunday Morning Sit-Start Show 10:30amET-NoonET. Show access will post around 10amET+.

Week 8 final projections update will post around 12:30pmET

It’s ‘National Tight End Day’, which means I will likely watch every game live today with the sound muted. Nothing delights idiot TV announcers more than ‘National Tight End Day’, especially when a tight end makes a 3-yard catch...and it’s orgasmic when a tight end catches a TD pass...and I cannot even consider listening to a game call involving Greg Olsen.

 -- Early Injury Notes...

Breece Hall and Mason Taylor both on track to play today. Their ‘all in’ game with Justin Fields for Fields to try to get his starting job back.

Kareem Hunt to be active, but not 100%...but way more problematic is Trey Smith and Josh Simmons both out on the O-Line for MNF. A potential boost for Brashard Smith in the passing game as a quasi-run game alternative since running the interior won’t be easy this week.

AJ Brown set to be back Week 10, after a Week 9 bye.

The Bills activated rookie CB, 1st-round pick Maxwell Hairston -- the Bills now have Hairston, Hoecht, Ogunjobi all back for the first time all season this week. Another reason I love the Bills -7.0 this week.

Michael Penix is being bandied about as ‘out’ but I’m not 100% sure yet he is officially out that I see...and little birdies are telling me they have been/are trying to get him ready to play. But some are reporting Cousins is definitely starting and they did elevate Easton Stick, so...

...and they are playing Miami, so...better to give Penix a week. Which means ATL blows past easy Miami but then that leads to a week of Cousins v. Penix a la the dumb Wentz v. JJ McCarthy QB controversy the media tried to gin up.

Late add injury reported players Saturday to watch this morning:

Drake London and Matthew Golden

 -- ESPN HEADLINE: Sources: Titans unwilling to trade Cam Ward, Jeffery Simmons

From Adam Schefter

The Tennessee Titans are open to dealing ahead of the NFL trade deadline, but sources told ESPN on Saturday that they are unwilling to part with their most important players -- rookie quarterback Cam Ward and star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons.

Teams have been monitoring the last-place Titans (1-6), who fired head coach Brian Callahan earlier this month and named Mike McCoy as his interim replacement.

The Titans are willing to listen to trade offers on players such as tight end Chig Okonkwo, cornerback Roger McCreary and outside linebacker Arden Key, sources told ESPN.

Why would anyone think Cam Ward is available? ESPN making titles for clicks???

Chig and Key will be gone. McCreary will draw big interest and get a nice exchange. Tony Pollard could also fetch a decent return.

 -- NBC HEADLINE: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that J.J. McCarthy (ankle) “is going to be the starting quarterback for the Vikings, assuming he is healthy, which they believe he will be.”

It’s definitely going to be JJM next week and from there on in. Kevin O’Connell gave a very long talk about why...and thanking Wentz for his service but they are moving on. I would be surprised if they traded/dumped Wentz at the deadline to lock JJM in from any dumb QB controversy from the media or fans.

10/25 SAT

 (11:40amET)

Can we just go back to Saturday’s being uneventful for FF...just a lazy day and watching college football and doing chores? Do I need to be checking my phone every 3 minutes for major NFL news that shifts betting and FF?

I guess I do need to be on high alert...especially today.

Major news so far this morning:

 -- Kirk Cousins will start for the Falcons vs. Miami.

Ramifications?

A bigger shift to the run game for sure vs. Miami...if Tyler Allgeier is cleared from the injury reports, he’s a potential RB2 this week,

Darnell Mooney trends up, Kyle Pitts trends down.

 -- Lamar Jackson now likely OUT for Week 8. The betting line for this game dropped from -7.0 (where I bet it thinking Lamar was playing) yesterday to -3.5 BAL this morning.

No Lamar...and the Bears are more likely win this game. I bet the Bears moneyline to take a hedge on my (now) stupid BAL -7.0 bet I made late last night.

A minor drop for Derrick Henry output, but now he’s gonna see 20+ carries easily. So, it might be safe or even better for him.

Downgrade all Ravens receiving things with Tyler Huntley at QB...and upgrade the Bears-DST.

==================

 (8:23amET)

 -- Today’s Agenda…

Game Report day...the final reports to wrap up the week.

Week 8 projections update 8-10pmET range.

Add/new betting items that I see that I want to lose money on, I’ll put it out there so you can bet the opposite...with my luck/skill lately.

 -- NBC HEADLINE: Chargers RB Omarion Hampton (ankle) was still in a walking boot following Los Angeles’ Week 8 win over the Vikings.

Everything seems to be aiming for a Week 13 (post-Week 12 bye) return for Hampton.

I thought Kimani Vidal made a HUGE statement on TNF...he will be ‘the guy’ until then. No threat from Jaret Patterson or Trayveon Williams, as I thought there might be some kinda chance those guys could shine and take touches. They did not, Vidal did...he’s locked in.

 -- NBC HEADLINE 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said the team could open WR Brandon Aiyuk’s (knee) 21-day practice window next week.

All about the same time, Purdy-Pearsall-Aiyuk will/could be back. Not good FF news for Kendrick Bourne or Jauan Jennings...nor for all of them, except Purdy...if Purdy is the QB.

 -- This is fantastic news for NYG fans this week...

Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) won’t play in Philadelphia’s Week 8 game against the Giants.

Eagles C Cam Jurgens (knee) won’t play in Philadelphia’s Week 8 game against the Giants.

A virtual playoff game for NYG this week/a must win that I have a funny feeling they will win.

 -- NBC HEADLINE Ravens S Kyle Hamilton (groin) is not on Baltimore’s final Week 8 injury report. Neither are CB Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), ILB Roquan Smith (hamstring), or CB Marlon Humphrey (illness).

The Ravens are getting all their defenders back + Lamar...this is gonna be a potential buzzsaw for Chicago. I am switching my ATS pick and actually betting the Ravens -7.0 now. This is a do-or-die game for Baltimore with everybody finally back.

10/24 FRI

 -- Today’s Agenda…

Game Report day...as many as we can get out today and the rest of the week.

Week 8 projections update 8-10pmET range to allow for West Coast injury reports.

Any new betting items that I see that I want to lose money on, I’ll put it out there so you can bet the opposite...with my luck/skill lately.

 -- TNF Week 8 first reactions...

Justin Herbert threw a pick-six right away, but it got reversed...and then the Chargers just steamrolled the Vikings from there. It was never really a game.

Quentin Johnston is becoming West Coast Jameson Williams...deep ball decoy and good blocker. A weak/meh Week 5...missed Week 6...weak Week 7 with a few drops but a TD...Week 8 ‘zilch’. I don’t know if the early season, consistent QJ is coming back...it’s gonna be a random event a la Jamo...but not the main event. Still has his FF use cases but the hay days from early on seem to be ‘the blip’.

I think we will see J.J. McCarthy now, from here on in. No QB controversy in Minnesota.

The Vikings run defense is Miami Dolphins bad. It made me think: Kenneth Gainwell had a career game v. MIN 4 games ago...Judkins had a 100+ v. MIN 3 games ago...this Kimani Vidal over 100 yards event...but I skipped over that two games ago, an RB ran 18 times for just 44 yards against MIN in-between all that = Saquon Barkley, who has been weak all season every game rushing. We got a Saquon issue...not a ‘defenses are focused on him issue’. Saquon has not rushed for more than 88 yards in a game this season, and he’s been under 60 yards rushing for five games in a row. Madden curse?

 -- NBC HEADLINE: Jordan Schultz reports that “several teams” are monitoring Saints WRs Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed’s availability ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline.

I think Olave will be NOT be dealt and Shaheed is 50/50 to be moved. There are not many ‘so obvious’ players to be traded’ this season. Alvin Kamara would have but he said he didn’t want to leave, and the Saints will honor that.

The Jets will move players, but they really don’t have anything exciting to move...and they are likely keeping Breece Hall.

The Titans do have several pieces to move, but they may be too dumb/poorly run to do it.

If the Ravens win this week, I think they will not sell anything...including Mark Andrews...they are gonna go for the AFC North and likely get it.

 -- Prostate Cancer update!

When I get time, I’ll share more details about my ‘surprise’ (to me) diagnosis early on...but in-season time is such a crazy workload that I have limited ‘fun’ writing time. Partly because I spend 1-3 hours a day dealing with phone calls about insurance, medical history, scheduling, filing for programs, researching, etc.

I’m so thankful for our team of Ross-Chris-Andrew for helping me out with their analysis of games during the week...I don’t know what I’d do without them, and I am learning some new perspectives on things from their expert perspectives. It takes a village!

All those who emailed me the past week...I will get to your emails, but I got a lot I’m going through in-between all the other tasks, but it has meant the world to see the notes and to be able to open them each day -- the good side of trying to get to them all, it’s a new heartwarming set of notes each day I open up!

But I have three battle updates that are all a blessing...and I am ‘blaming’ all your prayers!

1) I have now gone past one full week of hormone therapy and I feel pretty great, honestly. All things considered. My symptoms have improved noticeably. Very little side effects. Fatigue has been the worst side effect, but I can manage it by taking a rest (and drinking more coffee) and also not pushing it physically...like taking shorter walks, but then more frequent short walks of the dog and I gotta watch myself pushing it too hard with my lawnmower, but I think the mowing season may be over. As long as I rest when I need it...I’m good. When I push myself too hard, like the 2x MNF late into the night...I make a mistake. I need to be mindful of not pushing myself too hard. My stamina is down but my overall energy, physical feeling, and emotions are all great as long as I don’t push it.

2) I spent several phone calls the other day with some part/wing of my insurance company calling me and telling me that after insurance, my co-pay for hormone therapy was $800+ per month. I couldn’t believe it when the person said it...I asked, ‘Did you say $830 per year?’ They said no -- that’s per month...and I was like, in my head -- well, I guess I’ll hit my annual $6K insurance deductible pretty fast the next 1-2-3+ years...but then they said that meds aren’t considered part of an annual deductible.

I blacked out for a few seconds doing calculations in my head.

So, for 2-3 minutes this lady was regurgitating a script of details on the cost and my mind was reeling...then I asked the ‘Per year?’ question and then she kept saying words that I couldn’t comprehend...but then, after about 5 minutes, she transitions into talking about this fund that the insurance works with and the prescription plan works with this ‘fund’ for key, expensive meds like mine and that I am being enrolled into that and this ‘fund’ will cover all the costs of the meds, that I will pay nothing.

I really don’t understand what was said before that and after that, but I made sure she really said that I pay $0 -- and I felt like I just hit a 10-leg parlay on DraftKings. One minute I’m trying to figure out the costs for the next few years...the next I find out it’s no cost. That will change your life perspective in a flash. I felt like I had just won the lottery!

Way to bury the lead, LADY! She was deadpanned for like 5 minutes telling me all the costs and sending me into my first depression of this journey...before she finally, monotonally explained that the actual cost would be zero.

3) I’m headed to Jacksonville to visit Trevor Lawrence!

I was accepted into MD Anderson Jacksonville FL, which is a MUCH closer place for me to go to than MD Anderson Houston...MD Anderson is the nation’s #1-2 top cancer clinic.

So I’m headed for a first appointment there to discuss my case and their recommendations, but the people there have already been reviewing my case and scheduled my first meeting with my entire team -- I’ll be meeting the nurse who has my case, my doctor/specialist...but then also, and this is a first of all the doctors and clinics that I’ve talked to -- they have me set to speak with their head radiologist. That’s huge.

My local/first doctor was kinda sour on the outlook for radiation weeks ago...but also my local/first doctor sucked out loud, my opinion. I’m done with him and have moved on to better doctors locally and now have MD Anderson with me as well. If I can improve my situation to where MD Anderson is comfortable to do radiation -- the odds of my defeat of things becomes greater, and my longevity outlook/odds becomes very normal. Finally, someone is looking at my path to get there! It made me cry, honestly.

MD Anderson Jacksonville has been treating me like the workers at Chik Fil A, so far. A++ treatment and we’re only just in the early stages of working with them.

10/23 THU

 (7:47amET)

 -- Today’s Agenda…

Game Report day...as many as we can get out today and the rest of the week.

Week 8 projections update 7pmET+ after the inactives are announced.

Week 8 TNF overview and betting items.

Any early betting I see that I want to lose money on, I’ll put it out there so you can bet the opposite...with my luck/skill lately.

 -- NBC HEADLINE: Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs (concussion) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Diggs looks like he may be out and main SAF Donovan Wilson may be out as well...more hits to an already bottom of the league level defense.

-- NBC HEADLINE: Packers WR Christian Watson said, “my plan is to play” in Week 8 against the Steelers.

The Packers targets are already had to come by and not very predictable, now it gets worse with Watson about to get back to pay.

And Jayden Reed is probably 2-3 weeks away from his return as well.

-- NBC HEADLINE: Three headlines, and two of them are MAJOR for tonight’s game...

Christian Darrisaw (knee) is questionable for Week 8 against the Chargers.

Vikings RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is questionable to play in Week 8 against the Chargers.

Chargers LT Joe Alt (ankle) is questionable to play in Week 8 against the Vikings.

This game likely tips, for me, as to whether Darrisaw and/or Alt are out or in. Darrisaw is arguably the league’s best OL when healthy. The Chargers have collapsed since Alt went down.

Aaron Jones back totally changes the Jordan Mason outlook.

We’ll see throughout the day and officially at 7pmET.

My guess is both Darrisaw and Alt play...but it’s just a guess.

 -- Some Oronde Gadsden stats...

Gadsden didn’t play Weeks 1-2.

Since Week 3 he is the #10 PPR PPG TE in FF. Ahead of Kraft-LaPorta-Pitts-Hockenson-Barner-Engram-Fannin among others.

He is the #2 PPR PPG TE in the rookie class, currently...behind only Tyler Warren.

For Weeks 6-7 only, Gadsden is the #2 TE in all of PPR PPG...only behind Trey McBride.

Since Week 3, here’s the TEs ranked by catch counts and someone on this list will surprise (not Gad...we already know he’s been good)...

37 = J Ferguson

35 = McBride

25 = Kelce

24 = D Schultz (surprise)

22 = Warren/Gadsden

Since Week 3 by yards, among TEs:

308 = Gadsden

284 = Warren

282 = McBride

267= Kelce

235 = H Henry

 -- Our latest O-Line grades for the season...

Top 5 O-Lines:

1) Buffalo

2) Atlanta

3) LA Rams

4) Indy

5) Denver

All of these teams have winning records.

Bottom 5 O-Lines:

32) Cleveland

31) LA Chargers

30) NY Giants

29) New England (such an aberration that they lead their division)

28) Tennessee

SNL has been so bad this season, but this simple sketch is breaking through for them. It’s not the writing, but the performance of the main person in the sketch lifts this up.

10/22 WED

 (7:45amET)

 -- Today’s Agenda…

Game Report day...as many as we can get out today and the rest of the week.

Week 8 projections update 7-9pmET approx.

Any early betting I see that I want to lose money on, I’ll put it out there so you can bet the opposite...with my luck/skill lately.

 -- Waiver Night early morning results/notes...

Oronde Gadsden did win the night, from what I see...efforts were strong to get him in the 15%+ FAAB range and top priority.

Tez Johnson spend/priority was very ‘spiky’/all over the place...sometimes #1 overall with the biggest FAAB spend or priority, and sometimes not even the top WR chased after.

Kyle Monangai was the top RB pursued/added. Brashard Smith a distant second.

The love for Joe Flacco went higher than early projected...that TNF performance got people onboard, for at least a spot start this week with the heavy BYEs. He was the top QB taken/spent on...over Dalton and Darnold (bye).

I saw some 10-team leagues where Matt Stafford was dropped due to the bye week...wow.

The TB-DST was prioritized/added about as much or more than the Colts-DST...I don’t get it. People don’t trust the Colts-DST or Falcons-DST because of their legacy/history, I guess.

-- HEADLINE: Chargers LT Joe Alt (ankle) was a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice.

He is being spoken of as a game-time-decision for TNF. A massive event/upgrade for the LAC offense if he can get back healthy. TNF may be just a bit too soon, but it looks like Week 9 (if he skips Week 8) would have him more fully back.

 -- Deebo Samuel is very likely going to be practicing full most of the week and hoping to be totally clear of the injury reports by week’s end.

 -- A name to note/keep an eye on or early deep sleeper add in deeper roster leagues, PPR: UDFA rookie WR Xavier Restrepo, TEN.

With Tyler Lockett getting moved on, Restrepo might start being active...and ultimately moving into the slot where he is a Wes Welker type receiver.

Two things to note here:

1) Restrepo was quite good in the preseason...he showed ability. I’m surprised he did not make the 53-man roster for opening day.

2) He played with Cam Ward in college/2024. There’s a familiarity/comfort there...that Ward doesn’t seem to have with any current WR.

Tennessee hasn’t signed Restrepo to the 53-man roster yet, but it may happen any day/week.

Their O-C just said yesterday: OC Nick Holz: Xavier Restrepo has done a good job on the practice squad, makes plays.

 -- Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson on kicker Brandon Aubrey: “It’s unbelievable because you’ll come off the sideline and you’ll hear guys be like, ‘Alright, we got three points.’ They’re like, ‘It’s automatic.’ (Ferguson looks for some wood to knock on.) The dude’s got a leg on him and, I mean, the record he just broke, it’s crazy. … I remember playing Madden Football back in the day and using the kicking sliders, kick power, all the way up to 100, just so I could make that field goal. And now he’s doing it in real time.”

 -- WR Scoring Trends (Wks 3-7)...

PPR PPG Wks 3-7

23.5 = JSN

22.0 = Puka

21.8 = Pickens

21.7 = Ja’Marr

19.8 = ARSB

Surprises in the top 20: (#17) Tre Tucker 15.3, (#20) Romeo Doubs 14.5...both had 3 TD games in this time range.

Surprises outside the top 20

#21 = Nico 14.3

#33 = Tet McMillan 11.1

#37 = Odunze 10.6

Most 20+ Yard Catches (Wks 3-7)

10/21 TUE

 (8:54amET)

 -- Today’s Agenda…

Tuesday Night Waivers Video Show 8:30pm-10pmET

Week 8 Projections day...they will debut/post approx. 5-7pmET

Game Reports today...mid-morning and hopefully another will post in the evening.

 -- MNF 2x first reactions...

TB at DET

I thought NYG at DEN was gonna be the most inexplicable game I would watch in Week 7...or this decade, and then the NFL decides to serve a steaming pile of TB at DET.

So, the Lions go into the game missing, basically, their entire starting secondary. And they are facing the league’s leading MVP candidate, Baker Mayfield, who just got back his two best WRs from injury. Surely, Baker’s gonna bake?

But what happens, in reality, because I bet all the OVER props on Baker? Let’s see...Mike Evans catches a 50-yard pass early on but lands hard and let’s go of the ball -- so no catch, 50 Baker pass yards lost, oh...and their best WR is gone from the game breaking his collarbone...and gone for the season. Great start!

Then the next two drives: Baker completes a pass, the WR fumbles it to Detroit...followed by Baker completes throws a pass to a receiver who fights the DB for the ball...and they both crash to the ground with the ball...ties goes to the offense, right? Nope...it’s ruled a pick...more lost yardage, more lost drives. Oh, and then that was followed soon after by a catch and dive for a 1st-down on 4th-down -- and the TB receiver is awarded the 1st-down on a close call, replay then takes an hour to microscopically determine the ball was 2 millimeters short by their ‘eyes’...another drive quickly ended by bizarre-ness.

The whole night was turnovers that were debatable, dropped passes, injured players, Baker sailing the ball over receivers head’s, Detroit losing more of their secondary in-game with injuries...but that’s OK because the 8th-string secondary came in and dominated Egbuka and everyone else.

What’s the point of analysis if the league’s MVP can’t get over on a practice squad level secondary? Does Tennessee, Miami and the Jets suck...and everything else, any other game involving NOT the Titans, Dolphins or Jets is just this type of game outcome: https://youtu.be/6yZhJwINAXI?si=A6qr6Ky6ALY7_Loe&t=30

I don’t mean to take away from the Lions here...they played an excellent game despite being so undermanned on defense. They made a statement on being the best team in football.

HOU at SEA

So, I’m half-watching Seattle dominate hapless Houston...and Seattle is driving down the field with ease, already up 14-0...about to go up 21-0, and then Seattle stops doing the basics that are killing Houston and decided to have Cooper Kupp throw a pass...right to the Texans DB for a turnover and huge momentum shift. At that point, I was so disgusted with football...I decided to shut off the game and watch it in the morning.

Cooper Kupp last threw a pass, in his 9-year career, never. It was his first pass attempt ever. Brilliant.

I was so sick of football nonsense that I shut off the game and just started working on something else. I had bet on two things that none came true, and they should’ve been layups... But Baker is an MVP all season who suddenly can’t work a practice squad secondary AND Jameson Williams just has to do something/have a decent game, and instead he gives us  a ZERO catch special.

I will be cutting Jameson this week from every team, most likely, because if he is on my team I might try to use him. I am going to save myself from myself and just get rid of him. Jared Goff’s message is loud and clear that I refuse to pay heed to. I don’t care if he goes for 1,000+ yards for his FF owner the rest of the season with 15 TDs...I just know if he is on my team he will give me 0-7 PPR points every start. Seven games this season...five steaming piles of garbage FF-starts...I know a trend/likelihood when I see it.

10/20 MON

 -- Today’s Agenda…

 (7:28amET)

MNF 2x...the final MNF doubleheader of 2025. TB at DET 7pmET, which may be a combined 100+ points scored and HOU at SEA 10pmET (likely the first game I do not watch all the way through live, but we’ll see how the old stamina is doing).

Week 7 TNF Game Report always leads off our week...publishes around midday.

My 7-5pmET is working on the Week 7 Executive Report from Sunday...will publish 6-8pmET.

My MNF 2x betting overview and bets will publish ahead of the games...as we wait to see whether Evans and Egbuka are active.

*NON-Football news…Amazon AWS web services is under an attack/is down right now, so some major sites or Apps are down across the world…including Ring Video Door Bell App. FYI…you can access from the web just not the App (as of the last few hours). So, for those who have a routine in the am getting up or leaving out, FYI. All of which I had to learn to deal with this morning.

 -- Injury Watch Monday (better info will hit all throughout the day on most of these)...

Mike Evans likely to play...Emeka Egbuka a longshot. The race for Johnson (Kam) & Johnson (Tez) and Shepard may have been all in vain for last week’s waivers.

Jayden Daniels looks like either a knee injury or some theorize a hamstring. Almost for sure one week out but up to 3-4+ weeks out is very much on the table.

Michael Penix possible right knee MCL sprain late in the SNF game...he may be hobbled for Week 8 or miss a week.

Darren Waller pec injury...possible week-to-week up to ‘season over’.

Breece Hall...potential high ankle sprain

Bryce Young...ankle sprain, day-to-day/week-to-week.

Kendre Miller...left game after one play, unsure situation.

Brian Thomas Jr...left game late, unsure issue.

Jeffrey Simmons...hamstring

Sauce Gardner...concussion watch

 -- The QB controversy I did NOT see coming this week...

https://dawindycity.com/ben-johnson-quickly-puts-caleb-williams-notice-week-7-01k7z7r3q0q9?utm_source=gol

Possible QB changes this week due to injury or chaos:

Kirk Cousins might have to start for a week.

Andy Dalton might have to start for a week.

Marcus Mariota might be starting for 1-4 weeks.

Tyrod or Fields?

Wentz or JJM?

Rattler or Shough?

Geno or Pickett?

Mac or Purdy?

Brissett or Kyler?

Meanwhile...Joe Flacco is totally locked in!

 -- ADMIN ITEM: Anyone who may have offered to write/tryout to scout or write from my open door invitation on my medical announcement post this past Friday: I got so many emails of support that it will take me a week+ to answer them all, so if you had an interest in trial writing/reporting...send me a separate email with an obvious subject/title so I see it. I don’t want you to be ignored. Thank you!

*Just making sure everyone catches my announcement from last week, because it caught some by surprise Sunday on the Sit-Start Show who missed it...
