SUN 9/14
(8:13amET)
-- Early Sunday injury news...
Jauan Jennings...Game-time-decision.
Laiatu Latu...likely out.
CAR LT Ikem Ekwonu...on track to play/start.
TB LT Tristan Wirfs...OUT.
Brock Bowers...expected to play MNF.
Quinshon Judkins...active but will be more of a backup.
NYG LT Andrew Thomas...doubtful today.
SF LT Trent Williams...a massive ‘questionable’. If he is out, the 49ers will lose this week.
Miami lost two starting OLs this week, two of their better ones...and they already stink on the O-Line.
-- HEADLINE: Jayden Daniels had an MRI on his knee today after getting banged up in the Thursday night loss to the Packers according to Grant Paulsen.
I think this is more on the precautionary side of things, making sure nothing structural...but I think there’s a 25%+ chance he sprained his ankle and/or knee to some (minor) degree)...which he can play through. We’ll see what the practice patterns are this week.
-- TRADE: Saints acquired WR Ja’Lynn Polk and a 2028 seventh-round pick from the Patriots in exchange for 2027 sixth-round pick.
The Pats just wanted to get rid of him and the Saints are taking a chance. A smart, cheap dice roll by the Saints.
-- Anyone looking for a deep sleeper WR option...I didn’t think of this connection:
-- NBC HEADLINE: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Dolphins have no plans to trade WR Tyreek Hill.
COMMENTS: Schefter goes as far as to say that the Dolphins haven’t received calls from any teams interested in Hill.
RC NOTE: No one is likely calling for Tyreek after one week with an NFL investigation into his divorce papers/domestic abuse stuff (which is highly likely/99%+ chance to result in nothing)...but there WILL be a market/calls happening soon. If Miami loses this week (Wk2), they take a big step towards going ahead and trading him. If they go to (0-3)/(0-4), then Hill is as good as gone.
I think the Steelers are one of the leaders for his services, but the Chiefs HAVE TO be THE leaders for his services. I think there will be MANY contenders interested in Tyreek once Miami throws in the towel. KC and PIT for sure, but BAL and DEN would likely be in the mix.

Chalk Talk Database, sad news...
Our new project of the year, that we worked on all offseason/preseason...we have to put this new project offering on ice for the rest of the season.
Ross Jacobs has been the driving force for this project and has built and maintained all the data, but he got hit with a 1-2 punch of some ‘life things’ that is gonna keep him from being able to keep Chalk Talk going day-to-day throughout this season...right now.
So, to our subscribers to this new effort...I so appreciate you checking it out and taking a chance on it and supporting this new, critical project, but we have to put it on ice right now because it is a massive work effort to maintain week-to-week in-season and Ross will not be able to work it for the next little bit of time.
Totally unforeseen circumstances but definitely circumstances that we need to hit the pause button on it, for now. Keep Ross in your prayers. He’ll contribute to the football scouting this season as he is able.
Current ‘Chalk Talk’ subscribers, please be sure to halt your Patreon auto-renewal...and those who had it auto-renew for the upcoming month. We’ll get that credited, etc. This is all just hitting like an earthquake, so we’ll get you taken care of this week. We will make everything right this week.

9/13 SAT
(7:35amET)
-- Daily agenda...
I will finish the game tape I have left. And I hope I can get to write up all the game reports remaining today.
We’ll go through the betting props to see the new items they list, especially later into the night. I’ve got a bunch of player props for Sunday/Monday.
Weekly projections update later night ET.
The Saturday College Football channel is open on the FFM Betting Discord for those watching and chatting, or have any good CFB bet ideas for all of us. My John Mateer long shot Heisman bet ain’t looking too bad now…is it?
INJURY ITEMS...a little below the radar situations:
-- Seattle is down two key guys in the secondary...Devin Witherspoon and the rookie Nick Emmanwori. An edge for Aaron Rodgers and friends this week...and especially Calvin Austin.
-- Titans DT T’Vondre Sweat is out this week...that is HUGE for the Rams run game to have that brick wall for the Titans to not be playing. The Rams are down a guard, but Tenn. missing Sweat is more impactful, I believe.
-- One of the Vikings best defenders, Andrew Van Ginkel, is out for Week 2...that’s a big hit. The Vikes have Harrison Smith out, starting CB Jeff Okudah out...now Van Ginkel too. Not good for Minny.
Other news items...
-- CORRECTION...Deuce signed with Denver. I got this note in the transactions (below) and thought it was odd but intriguing that he stayed or denied DEN for a Dallas return, but most things I see now are he's in Denver. My bad. Two of the worst RB rooms in the league are bouncing Deuce around!
Deuce Vaughn (RB)Sep 09, 2025 - Signed to the practice squad by Dallas (DAL)
Dallas signed Deuce Vaughn to their practice squad. They might be stocking the shelves because Jaydon Blue is going down the drain and Miles Sanders is awful. Dallas may need/want RB bodies because their initial plans are blowing up in their face.
-- We did video game report for PIT-NYJ yesterday, so I didn’t get a chance to drop one of my favorite things to add to game reports in any week of the season, on Steelers things. Here he is, Pittsburgh Dad on Week 1...

FRI 9/12
(6:52amET)
-- Today’s agenda...
Trying to get through all the game tape and data, to convert to reports but time is running out on this FF week. I’m trying to crunch them. NE-LV will be out next. Shorter versions of the reports will likely follow on the remaining games over the next 2 days.
Watching tape of Week 1, and not rushing it, is so key to discover things revealed for us to pounce on/take advantage of. I will watch all the tape of Week 1 if it kills me...and I have been watching individual cut-ups on key players during the days of this week to try and stay ahead on those players.
Not sure how I can report out on it all by SAT end. But here goes a sprint to Sunday...
Weekly Projection update later tonight, like 8-10pmET, to allow for all the West Coast key injury reports to come in.
-- TNF first reactions...
Green Bay is just too good right now for any team to go and try to play a normal NFL game plan against them. Washington did nothing unique or interesting and Jayden Daniels didn’t impress me at all trying to handle the onslaught...neither did Dan Quinn.
Austin Ekeler is hopefully OK but looks like he may be done with an Achilles. Chris Rodriguez will get elevated if Ekeler is done. JCM will be the main man with McNichols and Rodriguez support...and Washington will likely look for a free agent or trade veteran RB to help, if Ekeler is done for the year.
I took a bath on the Deebo rushing 4.5 yards OVER bet last night...he got no carries as Washington got down quick, abandoned the run, and stayed conservative. I’m really shocked at how poorly Dan Quinn approached this game/his game plan.
-- Quick injury update, on key players...
Jauan Jennings has missed two practices and is likely going to miss Week 2, but Friday will be the big tell.
Brock Bowers is really shaky to play Week 2...and won’t be 100% if he does play with a leg injury. He’s got an extra day to heal with an MNF game. Michael Mayer would have some possible TE1 hopes if BB is out.
Drake London is trending to play...Darnell Mooney is still up in the air, but there is hope.

THU 9/11
(8:02amET)
-- Thursday agenda...
More game reports...including the NYG-WSH game ahead of TNF.
A special video reaction to my scouting of several players of interest the past 24+ hours...like Fannin, Boutte, Coleman, Penix, etc. You’ll enjoy this, I think.
Week 2 projections will update around 7-730pmET when the inactives lock in.
My ALL PICKS ATS report will hit before noonET.
-- NBC HEADLINE: 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Brock Purdy (shoulder/toe) is a “long shot” to play in Week 2 against the Saints.
I’d say Purdy is not only out this week, but I worry about/buy the ‘multiple week’ rumor...and possibly an IR stint with some level of concern for a bigger shoulder issue.
Mac Jones is not great but he’s with a good coach to try to get him by. If Mac is the QB for several weeks, that really hurts the 49ers outlook on their easy schedule. I discuss the receiver ramifications on the video coming out shortly.
Is there any team that has more injuries every week than SF?
-- NBC HEADLINE: Rams OL Kevin Dotson, Rob Havenstein, and Steve Avila did not participate in Wednesday’s practice due to ankle injuries.
This hit me like a sucker punch. I was kinda celebrating my LAR to win the NFC West bets with the Purdy news for SF, and then I saw this and was a little crestfallen.
This is not good. Dotson and Avila are probably out this week and Havenstein is questionable. If they are missing all three...it’s like a repeat of 2024 season, where half+ of their O-Line was gone for a chunk of the season. The good news for LAR is...these look like 1-2 week issues, and they play the Titans this week...which is half-a-bye-week like matchup.
This is not good news for Kyren Williams or Matt Stafford, etc., projections this week. We’ll be taking our projections on them down today, after we see the Rams injury report later today.
-- HEADLINE: Saints OT Taliese Fuaga (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.
Saints OG Trevor Penning was out of practice again as well. Two key OLs likely out...if so, you gotta love the SF-DST even more this week.
-- NBC HEADLINE: ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio reports that “the NFL has begun a review of the recent domestic violence allegations against Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill.”
I could be caught napping here, but Tyreek is always into some kind of issue that never really goes anywhere. I don’t think this is any major distraction for him...he has lived his life distracted for a decade.
‘All’ there is here is divorce filing claims of moments of abuse in the past by the ex-wife...with potentially no way to prove or disprove likely...it’s likely all being done for more money and child leverage in the divorce settlement. If you think Tyreek is a horrible human, and he mostly is (and is dumb as a box of rocks), you should probably meet the women who he hangs with/that would marry such a human. I’m guessing all this goes nowhere, football-wise. There would have to be proof of something, a smoking gun...I’m guessing if that existed we would’ve seen it by now or Tyreek would have settled quietly to hush this up.
Just my first reaction to this without any inside knowledge.

9/10 WED
(8:20amET)
-- Wednesday agenda...
Nearly 3 hours of video content on the Tuesday Night Waivers show last night, covering A LOT of topics. Be sure to check it out anytime you want. It's on-demand for you.
Game Reports all throughout the day today. MIA-IND leads us off in a bit.
Week 2 projections update will post around 7-9pmET.
-- Top waiver action from last night, that I am seeing early on for FYIs to recap the night and help those with Wednesday waivers...
Quentin Johnston had an erratic waivers period. In some leagues his bidding was insane...north of 25% of FAAB budgets and top guy taken in priority leagues, while other leagues let him fall in priority not trusting this was the beginning of something.
I’d say the #1-2-3-4-5 most sought/invested in waivers guys last night...
1) Quentin Johnston (our early tracking #1 last night, as far as FAAB bidding early data)
2) Hollywood Brown (our projected #2 last night based on early/pre-tracking)
3) Harold Fannin (late breaking heat, and a lot FFMers got him...we projected #5 heat in the early data)
4) Cedric Tillman
5) Kayshon Boutte
We had early data tracking that Keenan Allen was a #3, right with Hollywood...but Keenan wasn’t really a FA in enough leagues we tracked to note...but he would have been #4 on the list if he were in more leagues.
Dylan Sampson was early tracking #4 heat going into the night, but he was not as available either.
Others drawing mild waiver heat: Calvin Austin, Kenneth Gainwell, Daniel Jones, Michael Mayer, Tyquan Thornton, Tyler Loop.
-- Players not drawing more waiver heat last night as I thought: Michael Penix and Juwan Johnson, especially Johnson.
No one really buying into or needing once they got Fannin: Jake Tonges...he had a little heat but there was not a mass movement to him that I see. Deeper leagues he was taken shots on but not in 12-team, regular leagues.
-- Most dropped players last night...
Tank Bigsby
Chris Rodriquez
Ollie Gordon
Luther Burden
Marvin Mims

9/9 TUE
(7:38amET)
-- Tuesday agenda...
Week 2 Projections will debut between 6-8pmET
Week 2 Tuesday Night Waivers Livestream Q&A...your Q’s, my A’s live 8:30pmET to whenever we’re done with everyone’s questions. Show access will post 8:15pmET.
Game Reports plan:
DET-GB...written report going over what the heck happened to the Lions, among other things.
MIN-CHI...video-version game report for my reactions to the JJM debut
A third report if I can get to it/complete it...but probably is a WED release. Three game reports release WED.
-- I thought my MIN -1.5 bets were all but lost at one point last night, but Kevin O’Connell saved the day, or I should say Caleb Williams saved the day. I ended up +41.1% on game bets ATS and Moneyline for the week...my bets were focused on MIN, DEN, ARI and DET. No bueno on the Lions but hit the others...many of them bet on in May 2025.
The ATS bet positives about cover my Player Prop losses from Week 1...-18.6% for Week 1, but I play WAY more Player Props so it’s a bigger loss in dollar terms here...but game picks surprisingly were nice and nearly covered the player prop money losses.
I may have made up additional ground with all the player prop parlays and Round Robins on the parlays, but DraftKings (and FanDuel) are the single worst large company websites in the modern world...and you have to manually track your wins and losses because they don’t want the general population to know they are such losers with a click of a button. When I get time, I’ll track my one million parlays and round robins tallies. My general plan is for my individual player prop wins to pay for my big swing parlays/round robins.
I’m so ticked off at some of the player props I made Week 1. I think I got too excited for the new season and love to have action to root for in games as I watch and I lost discipline. I made a bunch of bets right before Sunday kickoff on Jaylin Noel and Isaac TeSlaa that were stupid/too much wagered for what they were -- I think I was feeling too good coming out of THU-FRI.
Betting is a game of skill...and emotional control. No different than managing a stock market portfolio and its trades.
Onto Week 2 betting...
-- TRADE: Jaguars traded RB Tank Bigsby to the Eagles for 2026 fifth and sixth-round picks.
I get that the Jags wanted to move Bigsby. I don’t get why the Eagles went after him fairly strong. Is A.J. Dillon gonna be gone? Are Will Shipley’s days numbered? Is this just a 4th RB added...I wouldn’t think so? This seems like more a mild, serious (kinda) investment (two picks given), so I’d think one of Dillon or Shipley is going (maybe down to the practice squad). Probably Dillon is gone, which doesn’t make a ton of sense unless he has some injury/issue.
Jacksonville is going to shift their backfield to Etienne-Tuten with LaQuint Allen on 3rd-downs. And I wonder if the Jags got lulled into a false sense of security because they ran over the Panthers with Travis Etienne Sunday...everyone is going to run over the Panthers. They have practice squad level interior linebackers, among other issues.
This trade is a step closer to Tuten maybe able to overtake Etienne, but likely it will be a split/committee the first part of the season.
I’m just not getting good vibes from what I see from Liam Coen. It’s still early. Not slamming the door shut yet. He’s goofy like Nick Sirianni, so maybe there is hope. But there is no Jalen Hurts to save him in Jacksonville right now...actually Coen’s QB IS the problem.
-- Speaking of Jalen Hurts, Rookie card giveaway #4 and #5 winners will be pulled this week and shipped soon after. Winners of #1-2-3 either got their shipment early or is slated to arrive today.

9/8 MON
(7:41amET)
Obviously, we’ve got a lot of football to talk about today and all week and the rest of the year. The FF season has begun and thus a new reporting flow/schedule of events on FFM, so let me go over the week ahead...
-- MONDAYS are mostly dedicated to our Executive Summary, where we have three initial reaction notes from each Sunday game live watch and then list five (+/-) players in various categories for the week such as: waivers (+/-), trading (for/away), sleepers, quittables, IDPs, DSTs. All led off by a general State of the Union/mood for the week, as it sits pre-MNF.
The Executive Summary is a monster report, usually 5,000-10,000 words. I start working on it the night prior and it’s done when it’s done on Mondays, the goal is to publish it by 6-7pmET Monday night, before the MNF game. I’ll get it out as fast as I can.
Mid-morning on Monday’s the TNF game report from the week prior will publish to start out the reporting week. This past Week 1 was different with the Friday night game, so the TNF game report (DAL-PHI) published last week and the Friday night game (LAC-KC) will publish today.
The Monday Night Football chat room on the FFM-Betting Discord will be open and active for tonight for those subscribers to ‘Betting’/the private chat.
-- TUESDAYS are geared to the waiver night/week...
I work on all the data/stats from the prior week and adjust/prepare for the first look at the projections for the upcoming FF game week. Those new-week projections will post anywhere from 5-7pmET on Tuesdays.
8:30pmET is our weekly Tuesday Night Waivers private video Q&A where we go over the waiver scenarios, players, questions, FAABs and priorities, and trading buy low/sell high, early betting items, and Dynasty questions...a waiver focused show, but could go any direction, except NO sit-start questions (too early in the week to consider yet).
All throughout the day, game reports will post/publish as I can get them processed and published. Sunday-Monday-Tuesdays are 15+ hour workdays for me...I try to get the game reports done as fast as I can, but I try not to rush combing through the tape looking for opportunity. The more that I rush this, the more likely I could miss a hidden opportunity or issues in hiding.
-- Game Reports...
Game reports will post all week, every week. Many will hit WED-THU-FRI.
I go through the tape of each game, after watching the games live prior and report out what I am seeing -- try to find hidden things, trying to get a feel for seemingly/perceived good teams that are secretly bad or vice-versa, and trying to confirm the great teams and the truly awful teams...same vibe for the players -- what’s working, what’s a fraud or luck.
It’s a chore to write up 16 game reports in a week. It’s nearly impossible to write a novella on each game, everything I see/feel from the tape without a legit 100+ hour work week...and that type of work week will physically crush me, so I am vowing not going to do that to myself anymore (except maybe Week 1-2 because they are so critical to understand the new season).
So, I will try to do the full game reporting that everyone enjoys...but some of them I will have to either shrink to a bullet point version or if I think it is a game tape that doesn’t have a ton of radical notes or is better if you see me talk about it -- I will do some game reports via a video where I talk about my scouting of the game.
I will definitely watch/study every game tape, it’s the most critical thing I can do each week...but how I report them out will shift based on time. I am only one human.
-- Chalk Talk Database, sad news...

-- Actual football notes! Kinda...
So many things to discuss from Sunday, but a lot of that is going into the Executive Summary.
Just a quick spot check of injury items we’ll be getting more info on today...
George Kittle’s hamstring injury...looks like this could be a couple of week thing. We’ll dive into Jake Tonges and all the other waiver TE options today and all week.
Drake London sprained his shoulder and is considered day-to-day, but it looks like he avoided major injury. ATL may be without London or Mooney Week 2.
We’ll find out about the true extent of the Xavier Worthy injury today, most likely.
