A quick preview and overview of tonight's game for betting and FF...

There are two factoids that dominate the big-picture overview of this game:

1: It's the regular-season opening of the Buffalo Bills' brand-new stadium, and that is likely to bring an electric buzz from the crazed Bills Mafia fandom. Advantage Bills.

2: The Lions seem perpetually at a disadvantage due to injuries, and this week is no different as they are missing three of their starting offensive linemen. Not their best offensive lineman, but three starters nonetheless. Advantage Bills.

The setup is: Advantage Bills.

The Bills also have the better offensive line. The better quarterback. And the better defense... and that's more of a smack at the Lions than it is a puff-up of Buffalo.

This game to me looks like it's going to devolve into a messy affair if and when the Bills take an early lead, seize all the momentum, and start to pull away from Detroit. The Lions will probably counter by trying to throw their way back into it before they lay down their arms in the middle-to-late fourth quarter and just give up to keep Jared Goff from getting hurt behind a broken offensive line.

I don't know how Buffalo is going to choose to beat Detroit; I'm thinking it's going to be through the air mostly and then turn to the run game to take it home... but I am siding with the Bills winning this game and winning it convincingly.

How that works out for fantasy, who knows? My thinking is: lean into the obvious passing game things on both sides.

Enjoy the game.
